What a perfect little gem on our Alaskan trip! Great location and easy to find but such a cute, homey, comfortable cottage which such little touches by Sharon to invite you to relax and enjoy! Wished we were here longer and would highly recommend the cottage to all!!! Hope to return someday!!
This cottage is a perfect getaway for an overnight or preferably longer stay. Very nice layout, immaculate, beautifully decorated. It was cool and cloudy so we didn't use the sun porch but this is a very nice space too. Owners very responsive and helpful to any questions about the area. Would give more than 5 stars if this were an option.
Lisa made sure place was immaculate for our arrival. Everything is in great working order. It’s our second year at this property and it won’t be our last
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this property. It has a well stocked kitchen and was a great "home base" to access all the areas we were interested in seeing.
The hosts are fantastic leaving a wonderful full breakfast of eggs and sausages for us to prepare along with some AMAZING baked goods. The house is on a secluded street but very close access to the Sterling Highway. The bedrooms, bathroom, and living spaces were comfortable and clean. The kitchen was functional but could probably use a refresh of tableware, knives and cutting boards. A refresh of bath towels would also be a nice upgrade. We used the grill for cooking halibut and it sits on a nice front porch. The hosts were also very responsive and provided great local information on restaurants and links to hikes.
Everything was perfect, pictures truly reflect the property. This was our first time using VRBO and Lisa and Sharon were wonderful in assisting us in the process. Very warm and comfortable, lovely location, very handy for all our activities. We highly recommend and would utilize again for return trips to Soldotna!
We stayed here while fishing in Soldotna and it worked great for my friend, his son and myself. It was a comfortable place and the owner was very nice.
This cute little cottage was in a great location, easy to find and get to where we wanted to go. Communication was great and the cleanliness spot on. Would definitely consider staying again if we were in the area.
We really enjoyed this property. It met and exceeded all of our expectations. I would highly recommend it. Gracious hosts. Very convenient to town. Exceptionally neat and clean. Well laid out floor plan. The washer and dryer came in handy
This was a lovely property and the hosts were so friendly and helpful. Everyone had a wonderful time and appreciated the hospitality. Hope to stay here again on our next trip to the Kenai!
The property was very clean. The host was very friendly. She lives in the house next door so is accessible if you need anything. Very informative about the area and things to do.
We had a great stay and would recommend this vrbo.
Such kind and wonderful people! The cottage was perfect for our stay and the owner Sharon went above and beyond! We will definately be back! Very clean and well stocked. Had everything we could ever want or need! Thank you Sharon and Lisa for making our trip such a great experience!

The cottage was clean and very comfortable. They had a variety of beverages for us in the refrigerator including fresh fruit. Lisa went above and beyond what we expected. We talked briefly on the phone and she sent us restaurant suggestions for dinner. The first one she recommended was St. Elias Brewing, great food and beer. Later in our stay we went and introduced ourselves to Sharon who lives on the property. She is a warm, lovely person that offered us some of her own salmon since our day of fishing was not very good.
The location is close to all amenities and easy to find.We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay while vacationing on the Kenai Peninsula.

My family and I were in town for a baseball tournament. The fields did not allow dogs so Sharon allowed Bear to come to the house early. Not only did she allow us to check in early but she also made sure that he was ok and took him out for a few walks. The home was so welcoming and comfortable. I am looking forward to staying there again.

We so enjoy our guests and their friends with fur or not and want them to feel at home during their stay at our little Cottage on Southern Bluff. Thank you for your lovely review.
Stayed here w/2 kids, 2 adults and a dog. Location was quiet, house was well equipped, house even came with a grill. There is a fenced in area for the dog. We didn't use it, but it was a good sized area for a dog to run around in. Drove to 4 different lakes from this place, and to the beach.

About the host
Hosted by Lisa Metz-Roberts
We are a long time Alaskan family, local Soldotna business owners, and commercial salmon fishermen.
Why they chose this property
We built this property in 2004 and added the Cottage in 2007 as a private space for our frequent family visitors. At our family's recommendation, in 2017, we decided to open the Cottage to all the lovely Soldotna visitors year-round, and we have not turned back since.
What makes this property unique
Grocery shopping and restaurants are conveniently located just three miles down the Sterling Highway and may feel like you are pulling out of your own driveway. Supplies and licenses for all your outdoor activities are available at any of our local Soldotna shops.
