Rest & relax at your home away from home! Gorgeous guest house near Charleston!

This home is located in a small community in the middle of the Francis Marion Forest. Enjoy the quiet of this forest community while still being close to shopping (20 min.), Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island Beaches (30 min.), and the heart of downtown Charleston (33 min.). This home was completely remodeled and furnished with 100% new furnishings in 2017. In addition to the 1200 sq. ft. of living space, this house has a 750 sq. ft. furnished screened-in porch that runs the entire length of the house. The house includes tiled baths, hardwood floors, a gas fireplace, and a granite countertop office station equipped with a full-size computer monitor, wireless keyboard/mouse, and printer. The owners live at the back of this 8-acre property and invite tenants to come to the pond at the back of the property to watch the beautiful swans and fish in the pond full of large-mouth bass and sunfish. Tenants are welcome to fish in this pond any time using the bait and tackle the owners have available at the property. In addition, two bikes along with a car bike carrier are available. The bikes can be used to ride anywhere in the Lowcountry, including the trails of the Forest, streets of historic Charleston, and/or the beach communities of Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island, and Folly Beach. The owners have a bamboo fence-enclosed private swimming pool that the tenants are welcome to use privately during their stay.
The pool is not heated; therefore, it is only open between May 1st and September 30th each year. This home also has a small deck off the screened-in porch where you can sit and relax, grill out on the gas grill, or enjoy a real fire in the fire pit (wood is furnished by the owner).

Cozy house

We really enjoyed our stay in Huger! It was nice to have a place close enough to Charleston & the beach but also away from the hustle & bustle of the city! We could venture out to go somewhere & return to relax at the end of the day. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware & made it easy for us to save money by making dinners a few of the nights. Would love to return in the fall or spring sometime to better enjoy the screened in porch. Missing the beauty of SC already!!

Great for a family

Great place to stay that is convenient to everything but away from the hustle and bustle. Our dog loved the property and getting to travel with us. Super quiet and relaxing

Great cottage

We’ve stayed at this location several times. The host is very friendly and an excellent communicator. My son had a baseball tournament at Shipyard and the two bed/2 bath house was perfect for our family! No time on this particular visit, but last trip the kids fished in the pond on property. Fantastic hideaway location.

Wonderful Stay

Wanda and Brenda are wonderful hosts. They are very thoughtful and went above and beyond to make you feel welcome and provide you with everything you need. They even thought of our fur babies. The home is in a wonderful location and with very relaxing surroundings. The house is super clean! I highly recommend staying here and we hope to stay here again if we are in the area.

Fabulous home and property!

This is the perfect home for your stay if visiting Charleston and surrounding area. The hosts provide everything you and your pets will need! Very clean home, beautifully decorated, so peaceful after a hectic day in the City. Brenda and Wanda were so welcoming, we loved that they were so willing to share their whole property with us. Very gratetful they were so accomodating with our 2 dogs. Would definetly book again!

This property is perfect for those that reat real want to get awY and have peice and quite. We stayed 3 nights and never turned on the TV. We sat on the porch and watched the Geese and Swan play chase. HaHa.

Serene location

Perfect location for my family for our recent trip to Charleston. We enjoyed being away from the crowds. My kids were able to play in the yard which is a bonus. The kitchen is well stocked. We had everything needed and more to prepare meals. The host was exceptional- great communication. Loved the screened in back porch. I hope we can return soon!

Amazing peaceful break

We had the most peaceful time. From the moment we walked through the door we were impressed. We literally felt like we were home. Everything we needed was provided. The property is a peaceful oasis. Dans la Foret Guest House is a Gem!!!

There is a reason why this property is highly rated and beloved. The hosts are communicative, attentive and kind. Our family enjoyed how clean and comfortable the house is. We especially loved the large recliner in the family room and the screened in porch is fabulous!!!! We spent hours hanging out on the porch. Outside you have your pick of activities, such as swimming, fishing, barbecuing, playing a game of soccer in the grass, etc. The wild life is gorgeous, with lizards darting around, tiny green frogs hopping about and the many different types of birds, including a wonderful gaggle of geese. The peace, quiet and beauty is just what our family needed. We also enjoyed being close to the beach, Charleston and so much delicious bbq!! We look forward to returning to Dans la Foret Guest House.

Far Away but Close Enough

What a wonderful little home this is tucked away in a little community outside of Charleston. It was immaculate, cheerful, cozy, comfortable, quiet and had everything we needed for our six week stay. Our hosts, Brenda and Wanda, were so friendly, attentive and accommodating. We truly felt like we were at home. Our pup loved when Bandit, the very friendly dog from across the road, would stop by for his daily visit. We enjoyed our outings to downtown Charleston (had a fabulous meal at FIG), Charleston Museum, Cypress Gardens, walks at Laurel Hill County Park in Mount Pleasant and going to the beach. While there's much to do in the area, because we had such fabulous accomodations, we always looked forward to days when we just stayed home. Thanks to our hosts for making our winter getaway so enjoyable!

Beautiful property

The property is gorgeous and the house was very nice. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly want. The bed was very comfortable. The grill did not work well when we were there, but the owners tell us they’re going to go buy a new one today. Apparently an otter ate all but one koi. We were not able to fish because the female swan was sitting on a nest, and the male swan was guarding it. The guest bathroom bathtub was so slippery that someone in our party fell. The owners also said they were going to rectify this. Overall, I would highly recommend.

The home was very nice, however when we booked this place we booked it because we saw that it had a pool. Come to find out the pool is in the owners yard and you have certain times you can swim. After going to the beach for the day and going to dinner we wanted to have a night swim, but were not able to. I guess we were mislead when we read “private pool”. We would have stayed somewhere closer to the beach had we known. Overall, it was not a bad experience just a little inconvenient.
