Sleeps 6. Exclusive setting on private lake. Experience quiet nights and clean, fresh air. Enjoy coffee and beautiful sunrises from the spacious upper deck or grill dinner on the walk-out lower deck. Swim in crystal clear water, relax and soak up the sun on a private raft, catch fish from the dock or troll for big ones while drifting lazily across the lake in the rowboat or canoe. Kayak in solitude or join a friend in the pedal boat. At night tell stories and eat S'mores around the campfire and listen for the call of the loon. In the winter snowmobilers enjoy deep lake effect snow. Located just 1/2 mile from the Blue Bear ORV/snowmobile trailhead; 1 mile from the Hide-A-Way Bar; about midway between Traverse City and Petoskey. Wine tours, 8 ski resorts, 17 golf courses and two casinos are a short drive away.

Inspiring setting for authors, romantic retreat for couples, memorable vacation for families, or girlfriend getaway. Master bedroom has a queen bed, 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds, upstairs sleeping loft has 2 twin beds, walkout level has a queen sleeper sofa and a twin sleeper sofa is on the main floor. Two full baths and an additional private bedroom vanity and sink in the master bedroom keep everyone happy. Open concept kitchen/dining/living room makes gathering together easy with a big screen HDTV and DirecTV all-sports package. Large dining table seats 8. Have fun in the lower level game room with TV, ping-pong, foosball, board games and puzzles. Sleeping loft designed for kids with kid-friendly movies, puzzles and games. Enjoy miles of snowmobile trails from your front door and hang out at the Hide-A-Way Bar - a family-friendly Up North tradition.

Check In: Any time after 3 PM (contact us with special requests); Check Out: 10:30 AM (or later depending on next reservation)
Quiet time on the lake: 11 PM - 8AM. No smoking, pets (allergy free), or fireworks. Must use provided boats (to protect the lake from invasive species). Must be 28 years old to book.

Fresh, clean linens, towels and a variety of pillows provided. Includes all kitchen ware, Keurig and Mr.Coffee makers, washer/dryer, hair dryer, DVD player and movies, library, grill and picnic table, life jackets and cushions, fishing poles and activities for kids.

1. We are so sorry, but due to previous experiences, we are unable to accommodate smoking anywhere on the property. If you would like to smoke, please consider another location.
2. We are often asked about the additional. $20 charge for each person over 3. This is simply the additional cleaning charge we pay and VRBO does not have a way for us to include that in the cleaning fee.

Campfire must be attended at all times and completely put out. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property - inside or out.

Peaceful with plenty to do.

Eight family members got together and had a great time. The fact that there was no Wi Fi was a blessing. We all got to talk to each other and have a few laughs. More people today ought to try this. Fishing was fun and the view stunning.

Absolutely Beautiful!

I can not say enough good things about this place. Deb, the owner, is great!! She is super easy to work with and very attentive to every need. The house has everything you could possibly need or want and the views are stunning! The provided peddleboat, canoes and kayaks were a huge hit with my family. We played games in the lower level when we weren't out enjoying the lake. The Hideaway Bar and Grill is just down the street and is a must! Thier chicken wings are amazing! Overall I would highly recommend staying here. You won't be disappointed!!

Beautiful Loon Lodge!

What I will miss most about Loon Lodge is the deck. Just loved sitting there every morning to start the day - so peaceful and relaxing. The setting in the woods is just beautiful. The grandkids had fun swimming off the raft and fishing from there or the dock. The lodge was great for our grandchildren as they had their own space on the lower level and plenty of room to run around outside. There are plenty of kid friendly movies to watch with the whole family in the evening. The cottage itself was very clean upon arrival and well stocked. Any questions we had were answered or attended to very quickly by Deb. She really wants you to have a wonderful stay! We used the available canoe, peddle boat and kayaks frequently. The peddle boat was our “taxi” for the kids out to the raft. The deck attached to the dock was ample enough for the whole family with comfortable chairs. We found many mini Petosky stones around it and were visited by many frogs. The master bedroom has a temperpedic mattress and it’s own separate sink which worked out great. It was a little tight with sleeping arrangements for our children’s families (3 adults and 4 children). We brought up two inflatable mattresses and used both. The upstairs loft has a low ceiling and works best for children. The downstairs bath is newly renovated and spacious. The kitchen was big enough for all of us to move around and work in with the dining table and sitting area all attached. The cottage was very well appointed and cozy. The fire pit outside was great and was supplied with wood and enough chairs for making s’mores. All in all we had a wonderful stay and will miss “Loon Lodge”.

Great stay with my family!

Had the BEST time at Deb's property last week. I am from NY but recently moved to MI and wanted to show my family other parts of Michigan than where I live in GR. Deb's house had something for everyone- kayaks, boats, fishing, board games etc. We loved the fire pit and grill and spent so much time sitting outdoors enjoying each other's company. Deb also really thought of everything! SO appreciate the welcome book with information about places to eat, things to see in the area, what to do when the TV wont turn on etc-she really kept every detail in mind and we were all so impressed. My family already wants to come back next year. Thanks for an awesome time!!!

A beautiful, relaxing getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at Loon Lodge. Deb has thought of everything (even big forks for roasting marshmallows 😀) and was a pleasure to work with. The boats and kayaks were perfect for gliding across the beautiful lake. Our boys loved having the loft to themselves. It was a true getaway. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful and relaxing place with everything you need!

We rented this house for a family vacation and with six adults and two kids we had plenty enough space. There is so much to do at the house and Deb has it stocked with everything you could ever need. The lake was so peaceful and we caught lots of fish and it was a quick drive to other towns. We definitely recommend this for anyone and would come back in a heartbeat !

Very peaceful and relaxing cabin. Very well stocked cabin.

This place did not disappoint. Was very clean and very well decorated and comfortable. I do have to say that the owner was very easy to work with. During our stay we had a visit from a dog named Lou Lou. Very nice dog that I guess visits some of the owners in the neighborhood at times. Was nice to have the visit since I am a dog owner myself. The fishing was pretty awesome with the help of the Jon boat and canoe. All around a very welcoming place to relax by the water. One of my favorite things about the place was listening to the Loons in the morning. What a great sound, love it. Thank you Deb!

By far the nicest cabin we've stayed in

The description says the Loon Lodge is well stocked which is quite the understatement. The only thing you need to bring is food, clothes, and personal items. The owner Deb has taken care of all the rest. Even down to small motion sensor night lights when you have to get up in the middle of the night. Our goal was to spend seven days there and go out and tour around the area. We left the cabin twice for day trips and the rest of the time we spent fishing, boating, playing ping pong and sitting around the fire. While drinking coffee in the early morning watching daylight break, the only sound to be heard was the dew falling from the trees. We can't wait until we revisit. Even our kids in their 20's and 30's had a blast just relaxing. We have rented cabins and cottages in the area a number of times but this one takes the cake. Thanks Deb!!!

Michigan get-away: Wonderful! I could easily pack up and go again.

The cabin was lovely. It was ready for us when we arrived - clean and fresh! The furnishings were very comfortable; the decor was perfect for a cabin. There were fresh, clean towels in the bathrooms and fresh, clean bedding in the bedrooms - overall just wonderful. Plenty of dishes, cups, glasses, flatware, and pots and pans. The kitchen was small but totally adequate for meal preparations. There were lots of games, books, movies. But, we spent most of our time outside. There was a pedal boat, kayaks (2) and a flat bottom row boat available for us to use. The dock was wonderful with an area for sitting and just enjoying the beauty, tie up space for the boats and nice spots to fish. To be honest, I could easily pack up and go again.

Wonderful Place!

The cottage is beautiful! Well maintained and well appointed. Was just me and my wife, but there's plenty of room for larger groups. Was going to take the boat out for some fishing, but the fish were biting every cast from the dock. Enough keeper size bass and panfish for dinner, but we released them all so someone else can catch 'em. Thank you Deb, for a wonderful weekend!

Secluded. Beautiful. Comfortable. Can't wait to go back!

We went for a relaxing girl's trip and this place exceeded any and all expectations! Everything is in place to meet all needs! Private setting, beautiful view, big deck, and we especially loved using the paddle boat and kayaks. So cozy it felt like home. We'll plan on going back next year!

wonderful winter weekend!

We found this place for a last minute ski weekend over the new years weekend and it worked out fabulously! Our 3 boys loved the "kids loft" and felt like it was made just for them to hang out in! The place was very clean and had lots of little amenities available everywhere in case we had forgot something. Nice added touch! My kids loved the little basket full of puzzles and games and even the adults got in on that action! We spent the weekend skiing at Shanty Creek which is an easy 20-30 min drive in the snow. There was quite a bit of snow that weekend so getting in and out was a bit tricky but the owner made sure the plows came for the driveway which helped. Deb the owner was available for any of our needs and questions. Would definitely stay here again!
