Guest House in Monferrato with Wine Tasting

The guest house Castagnola is located in the medieval Borgo Tagliolo in the famous wine region of Monferrato. It is part of the Castello Pinelli Gentile, which has been in the family for 500 years and is run with a lot of passion. The guest house offers families and couples a promising stay between vineyards and the medieval atmosphere. Larger groups of friends can also rent all four guest houses together.

The wine region is particularly known for the Dolcetto grapes. The noble family has been producing wine since the 14th century and offers its guests wine tasting as part of a tour of the castle. Cycling in the beautiful surroundings, day trips to Alba or Casale Monferrato, playing golf... there's a lot to discover!

Take advantage of the private garden with breathtaking views for convivial barbecues! You will also find a table tennis table and a washing machine on the property. Please note the waste separation; there are larger bins in the basement of the Castello. There is ample parking on-site and near the accommodation.

We had a wonderful week in Castagnola. The apartment and place around it is very dog friendly (we loved the dog paintings!) and has a great atmosphere. The castle is beautiful. To get the most out of it, it is absolutely recommended to take the guided tour, the wine tasting and a meal from Gianna.

Wat een prachtig kasteel, volledig in gebruik nog. Onderhouden en bestierd door markies Luca. Toen wij er waren was het oogsttijd, dus we konden helemaal volgen hoe de wijnen van het kasteel gemaakt worden. En daarna natuurlijk een heerlijke proeverij. Goed als uitvalsbasis te gebruiken om de omgeving te verkennen zoals Barolo, Barbaresco, maar ook bv Cinque Terre(1,5u).

Prachtige sfeervolle en rustgevende locatie, het is er mooi groen, vredig en bovenal zeer vriendelijk personeel dat ieder moment klaar staat voor de gasten zonder formeel gedoe alsof je deel bent van de bewoners van de Borgo. Ik heb heerlijk rust gehad en ook gewerkt in een omgeving vol van inspiratie positieve energie.

Het appartement bij de Borgo was groot met een compleet ingericht keuken. In de gezamenlijke tuin staan fijne tuinstoelen en een hangmat. Tafeltennistafel heeft betere tijden gehad. Ontvangst was erg hartelijk. Rondleiding van de eigenaar gehad in het kasteel met als afsluiting een wijnproeverij. In het dorpje is alleen een bakker en een café. Helaas geen restaurant.

Eind oktober een week doorgebracht in la Castagnola, een vierpersoons appartement in een oud huis (Borgo) gelijk naast het kasteel. Geen luxe maar mooie historie en toch alle gemakken. Goede badkamer, ruime slaapkamers en woonkamer met afzonderlijke keuken. Wel niveau verschillen zowel binnen als buiten dus niet geschikt voor mensen die moeilijk ter been zijn. De rondleiding met wijnproeverij in het kasteel is een aanrader, indrukwekkend! De markies is zeer-zeer gastvrij en behulpzaam, als er iets is gewoon vragen! Helaas is de pizzeria in het dorpje recent gesloten maar er zijn voldoende goede restaurants in de directe omgeving. Wel een bakker, supermarktje, drogist en café op loopafstand. Mooie tuin met tafeltennistafel en barbecue. Een aanrader tenzij je voor vijf sterren luxe gaat.

Je vertoeft niet vaak bij een Markies in (de bijgebouwen van) een kasteel. Luca is een beminnelijke man die zeer gepassioneerd is voor het maken van goede wijn. Tagliolo Monferrato is een mooie uitvalsbasis voor tochten naar Barolo, Barbaresco, Neive, Genua etc. Leuk bakkertje dicht bij. Tegenover de eveneens goede pizzaria.

Unieke en prachtige locatie. Appartement maakt deel uit van in gebruik zijnd kasteel. Heel sfeervol. Comfort van woning is iets minder geen airco (bij hoge buitentemperatuur eigenlijk wel nodig) en niet stabiele warmwatervoorziening. Andere aspecten maken dit appartement echter een absolute aanrader!

Kasteel is prachtig, met een zeer betrokken gastheer. Wijnproeverij past precies in de sfeer van het kasteel, komt bij dat de wijn van goede kwaliteit is. Al met al een goede lokatie, dorp zelf heeft niet zo veel te bieden maar Ovada heeft meerdere heel goede eetgelegenheden.

Fantastische rustige locatie en mooie accommodatie, Persoonlijke en gastvrije benadering op een niet heel touristische plek (ze bestaan nog in Italië!) met overigens voldoende mogelijkheden in de nabije omgeving. Heerlijke wijn.Wij gaan zeker nog een keer terug.

Mooi, eeuwenoud kasteel waar nog steeds wijn wordt gemaakt en verkocht. Een wijnproeverij en rondleiding door het kasteel behoort tot de mogelijkheden. Mooie uitvalsbasis voor uitstapjes naar Middellandse Zee, Cinque Terre, en plaatsen als Acqui Terme, Alba en Asti. Wifi aanwezig, voldoende ruimte, mooie omgeving. Markies Lucca Pinelli Gentile is een heel aardige gastheer die voortreffelijk Engels spreekt. Het was een heel leuk verblijf.
