Charming, Cozy, & Peaceful Mountain Getaway for Family & Friends

The Arthur Cabin is surrounded by towering pines in a quiet cul-de-sac in the beautiful town of Shaver Lake with an elevation of 5,500 feet. You can experience the cabin's unique history in a photo album from the clearing of the land to the present remodel. The antiques in the cabin take you back in time while you relax in comfort. A variety of physical and culinary adventures are around every corner in or near the town of Shaver Lake which is only a 3 minute drive. At the lake, you can enjoy boating, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, or relax on a sandy beach. In the Sierra Mountains, you will find an abundance of hiking trails with spectacular views of surrounding mountain peaks or picturesque lakes and waterfalls. If you take a short drive, you will discover and find Huntington Lake, Kaiser Wilderness, McKinley Grove Redwood Trees, or the Dinkey Lakes Wilderness. Winter enthusiasts can play in the snow at the cabin or head to one of the snow parks. If you enjoy the thrill of downhill skiing, then you are 20 minutes away from the China Peak Ski Resort. There are quite a few restaurants in the town of Shaver Lake that offer a variety of food choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you just want to hang out at the cabin, we have plenty of fun games available for our guests - foosball, air hockey, a pool table, horseshoes, and a cornhole game. The quietness of the deck along with a comfy chair is a great place to sit and enjoy your favorite book. You can even plan a family movie night with over 100 dvd's to choose from. The Arthur Cabin is fully equipped with everything you will need to provide a comfortable and relaxing experience for your get together. We personally manage our own cabin and take pride in providing our guests with a clean, fun, and relaxing cabin with lots of character.

Great Snow Getaway

Our group had a great time at this house, we had 4 young kids and really appreciated the details for kids - the neighborhood was quiet and we were easily able to play/sled in the snow without having to drive anywhere!

Family Holiday Trip

The house was exactly what is on the listing. Debi, the host was very communicative, checked in on us to make sure everything was okay. The house was comfortable and cozy, enough room for everyone. We had a great time, can’t wait to go back.

The cabin was amazing and had games and toys for all ages. The location was perfect. It was close to lake, shopping, and food. Cabin had written instructions for every thing you needed to know and the host was the best

Family vacation

The cabin was very comfortable and spacious. There was plenty to do to stay busy. The outside fire pit was nice to sit around at night. The basketball hoop was awesome and made great family memories.

Large clean friendly cabin

What a pleasure to stay in Deb's cabin. Clean, organized and signs all over the place was well noted by my family. Great for little kids who enjoyed the games and game room and it being on a cul de sac so they could scooter. This time up we didn't take advantage of cooking but look forward to it the next time. A pleasent host family, thank you!

Wonderful Trip

We had the best time! The cabin was beautiful and had everything we could have asked for. Debi, the owner, was so sweet and very responsive. She reached out a week before the visit and checked in the next day after check in to be sure we had what we needed and all was going well. It's not far from the lake and town. Beautiful and quiet community. We will definitely be staying again for a future trip to Shaver.

Awesome vacation

Debi and Dale were wonderful hosts. The property itself is beautiful. There was plenty to do outside as well as just take some time to rest inside. We used the bbq to cook and appreciated the little gate on the deck to keep the friendly neighbor dog out. We had the BEST time and will visit here again. Next time during the winter to use the fun hill behind the house to sled down snow!

AMAZING & FUN

The cabin is so beautiful inside and out. Debi is so sweet and began checking in with me a few days before our stay and a few times during our stay to make sure we were good and not in need of anything. There was plenty to do for all ages. We all enjoyed the game from and the openness of the cabin. We took hikes that were suggested and drove down to the beach that Debi had recommended. We all loved our stay and will definitely be back soon

Safe and warm during a big snow!

When we arrived on Thursday, there was only patchy snow....when we left on Sunday, there was 4 feet of fresh snow! The cabin was neat and clean and perfect for my family of 5 adults and 5 children. The Kitchen was well suppled and all appliances worked well...as did the fireplace. My grandkids enjoyed sledding down a couple of hills near the Cabin...we didn't have to drive anywhere. The Owner was wonderful to stay in contact with us due to forecast blizzard conditions (the blizzard didn't happen at Shaver's elevation, but lots of snow did!). Snowplows in the Cabin area were out early on Saturday and Sunday mornings and we had no trouble getting out to the highway when it was time to go home.

Beautiful accomodations

Had our family reunion at Shaver Lake and this cabin worked out perfectly for our family. Loved the layout of the cabin and very friendly to those that have children. So nice to have plenty of space for multiple cars. We will plan on coming back again. Only negative was the VRBO website. It had the wrong "pin" location on the map showing where the cabin was located. There was no address given so no way to verify exactly where it was located. Only after booking the cabin did I receive an address. It was across the highway from where we thought it was located - in the end it turned out fine and we had a great time.

New memories

The purpose of this trip was to ski at China Peak and find a place lay our heads at night. This place met our expectations and beyond. The house was extremely well equipped with everything we needed. The instructions around the house were so helpful especially for the fireplace. The kitchen was outstanding. We cooked several meals in the house and did not need to bring anything. Felt like you were cooking in your own kitchen. The dining room table was used all the time. It was large enough to have everyone enjoy their meals. The beds were very comfortable. Even the loft beds. The host checked in and made sure we did not need anything which was very nice. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for opening your home to us.

Wonderful Stay

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic rental, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The kitchen in this rental was a true highlight. It was stocked with everything one could possibly need, from an extensive collection of pots and pans to containers for storing leftovers from our delicious homemade meals. The addition of a well-stocked pantry with spices, oils, coffee, and tea was a delightful surprise. It's the little things like this that make a big difference during a vacation. The location of this rental is also worth mentioning. Being only 30 minutes away from China Peak was incredibly convenient for us, as we were eager to hit the slopes. What made our experience even better was the thoughtful instructions provided by the owner. They gave us two different routes to get to the house, taking into consideration the steep route and potential icy conditions. This attention to detail ensured our safety and ease of access. The combination of a well-equipped kitchen, great location, considerate hosts, and the added convenience of spices, oils, coffee, and tea made our vacation enjoyable. Cozy Cabin

Wonderful Cabin!

This is the best cabin I have ever rented at Shaver! The layout is fantastic with three bedrooms upstairs and master downstairs. There was plenty of room for a family much bigger than our family of 5. It was incredibly clean and has the cozy cabin/cottage feel that we just adore. From the fireplace to the newel posts, the attention to detail to every space makes the experience special. We spent my husband's 50th birthday in the cabin. McKinley Grove is about 35 minutes away. The center of town is 5 minutes away. The cabin is centrally located and in a quiet area. We had a wonderful time and can't wait for another trip!

I am currently employed with Fresno Unified School District as an early interventionist working with children birth to three with special needs. I love to hike, sew, travel, and dance. My husband and I live in the foothills on 5 acres. My husband is a weekend cowboy and we have 30 head of cattle. My favorite cow is Charlotte who was bottle fed by us for 4 months. She still loves to receive scratches around her ears!

Why they chose this property

We love the charm, character, and history of our cabin in Shaver Lake. We are the third owners. The original owners bought the land in 1969. There is a photo album in the cabin that shows the cabin being built from the ground up from 1969-1975. The photo journey continues when the second cabin owners did some upgrades in 1999 at the time of their purchase. The stair railings in the cabin are original and are from an old church. There are fun and old antiques in each room. The dining room table, hutch, and kitchen cabinet work were created by a local carpenter. The cabin is solid, a work of art, and has a unique history.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with the location of the cabin. It is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac on a wide street that provides a safe and fun play area for children. Our kids, grandkids, and extended family love to stay and visit at the cabin. We are creating many new and fun memories. We hope that other families who stay at our cabin enjoy the charm, beauty, and rich history while making their own family memories.
