This rental is for one side of a large elevated duplex. It has been completely renovated with new paint, beds, and furniture for a cozy beach getaway.The unit is located on the quieter West Side of the island two blocks from both the happenings on Center street and the beautiful beach. This spot is a gem as it is close to everything that is fun but also has a remote feel! Underneath the house is a shaded, decked area with a table for dining as well as a sitting area. There is also a propane grill for your use. The interior is approximately 850sf with two bedrooms and one and a half baths. Both bedrooms contain a queen size bed, dresser, flat screen tv, and radio/alarm clock. The living area contains a queen sleeper sofa , a large flat screen t.v., and a small stereo to listen to the radio or CD’s with the capability of playing music directly from your Ipod or similar device. The kitchen flows from the living room and contains all of the basics: pots, pans, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, a variety of glasses including wine, serving plates for six and utensils for 12. The kitchen table seats up to six when pulled out. There is not an automatic dishwasher, but we have a full-size washer and dryer. Linens and bath towels provided. Our goal is to provide the vacationer with everything necessary to get them onto the beach in the least amount of time. The unit is supplied with the initial quantities of paper towels and toilet paper. If there is something that is important to you that we do not have please let us know and we will do what we can to accommodate you. Our goal is to make your visit to our island so enjoyable and convenient that you make Folly your regular beach getaway. Guests have access to the entire side of duplex, private decks, and open area underneath for grilling and chilling. The unit also has a large yard for activities.

Great location

This was perfect for our family for size and access to the beach. Close enough to Center St to walk to our favorite restaurants.

Great experience in Folly Beach

Excellent location. Very short walk to the beach right next to the surf school. The house was clean and was great for our needs. Do heed the warnings about the toilets. We followed the rules and still ended up needing to use the plunger (probably due to some substantial contributions from our boys) :).

Perfect place for a beach getaway

Jake's Place was perfect for a 3 day weekend with our 12 year old son. We had ample space to stretch out in the recently updated home. The beach is close and the area is safe; we were comfortable letting our son walk to and from the beach on his own. The area is close enough to shops and restaurants that there was no need for a car, yet far enough away to be quiet. We enjoyed the sounds of the ocean from the deck while having our morning coffee. We will be back to Folly and to Jake's Place again!

As mentioned above, the property is two blocks from all the bars and restaurants as well as the beach. I love that this place is up high off the street surrounded by gorgeous oaks and yet you can still see the ocean. The place truly combines all the things we love about Folly!
