About this property

RUSTIC yet ELEGANT! TALL TIMBERS LODGE in the Thousand Islands

Tall Timbers is one of a kind! Owners design. Enjoy a Timber frame stay with grand trees built into a very warm, comfortable, yet elegant and rustic home. Many features have a story. Such as the mantel was pulled out of the waters of Lake Ontario and the Newell Posts came from a Cedar Tree cut by a friend in Redwood then customized to adorn our staircase. Tall Timbers was built with over 900 hours of labor by a gentleman named Ken. We are so grateful to him for helping our dreams turn to reality along with a few others, but especially my Dad who has multiple talents. My Mom helped with many aspects from painting to watching the children, so we could work. We raised our children here and now are looking to welcome others to enjoy this amazing home and make great memories as we have. All the amenities that couples or families can enjoy you will find here. Even your dog has what we call the Daj Mahal, which is a very large kennel with 2 dog houses on a raised deck, brick pavers and fresh water available. Locking Gate for peace of mind while you are out adventuring. We do have a Ring Cameral at the front door. This allows us to greet our guests and makes us instantly available at check in.

Main Floor:
Large Laundry Room has upright front loading w/d and this is also where your dog will sleep during your stay. Just outside this door is a wrap around deck where you will find the Hot Tub and Seasonal Shower along with our Glamorous outdoor bathroom (look up to appreciate the crystal chandelier) for convenience when you are enjoying the Timber Pub by the fire (also smoking area). The Timber Pub is a Custom Bar with 2 light fans, a chandelier, a retro RED sink, and a hammock area! Also great area to BBQ, while playing some corn hole!

Back to the house: Step up to the fully equipped kitchen which has all stainless appliances along with a wine fridge and an 8' cutting board. The kitchen is a cooks dream. If it's lacking anything - lmk! It is open view to the great room, which has an oversized cozy window seat, big enough for 2 to lay down. From this space you can oversee your fur family in the Daj Mahal kennel or enjoy the birds. A soapstone gas fireplace also warms this space for fall guests. It's a grand feel in this room as the ceiling peak reaches 30'. We often just lay on the floor and look up at the cool joineries. There are double doors to the deck for outdoor dining. Under the arch you'll find the large dining space for 8, a fully equipped hutch for place settings and a buffet. Just through the pocket door you'll find the TV Room with a 60", 2 reclining chairs and a reclining double leather love seat. Behind the partial wall there is a Trundle bed for a midday nap, children or elderly who doesn't want to climb stairs.. This room has a small library for all ages and many games and puzzles.

2nd Floor:
Upstairs the bathroom has a tile shower and double sink it is located between 2 Bedrooms. To the right is the "Silver Hemlock Room" accommodating a queen bed and 2 smart lamps where you can plug in and a tv. This room is open to a loft above. To the left is the "Yellow Pine Room" accommodating a queen bed adorned with an alternative down that is so inviting and cozy you won't want to get up. It also has a tv and mirrored closet doors. Just over the bridge (here you can view the festivities below in the great room on one side and the main entry on the other) is the North Oak Suite. This room has a luxurious comfortable King that raises for reading or watching TV. You can plug your phones into the smart lamps and put oil in your spa diffuser to set the mood for romance under the large magnolia tree that is a lifesize print at the head of the bed. The ensuite bathroom has a shower, double sinks and a clawfoot tub.

Beautiful Timber Framed House
The wife and I met up with a few of my college friends and their families to see the April 2024 Total Eclipse. The house was gorgeous, as a group of engineers, we were all discussing the finer parts of quality old school construction of a house built with solid timbers and hardwood dowel pins. The location was great, a few minute drive from the village of Cape Vincent (check out the Coal Docks if you go!), and about 15-20 minutes to the rest of the 1000 Islands attractions (we did a boat tour and wineries). As a host Becky was very gracious, she responded quickly to messages on VRBO and texts, she also caught us on the Ring doorbell as we fumbled to figure out how to get in after a long 9 hour drive. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The house has absolutely everything we needed to make the stay comfortable. As owners of a sign shop next door, practically everything is labelled in the house. We would all love to go back and stay again.

Excellent Lodge to Explore the 1000 Islands
Tall Timber Lodge is a great home base to explore the 1000 Islands. Well situated between Clayton and Cape Vincent, many attractions and wonderful parks are close by - including easy trips to Canada. The Lodge is unique structurally and visually pleasing. It is well appointed and clean. Beds are comfortable and linens and towels are high quality. Lots of homey touches. The backyard is a gem with a hot tub, pub, fire pit and outdoor bathroom and shower. Perfect for starry evenings capping off busy days. Becky is a great host - responsive and helpful and very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would return to the Lodge when in this area again.

Stay was ok, felt like we were being watched all the time which made all of us uneasy, and to pay a cleaning fee then have to throw towels in laundry and strip beds did not make us happy But the home was nice enough a bit dusty I would not stay again

Amazing Property
Tall Timbers Lodge was the perfect place for our family vacation. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out and the open floor plan of the kitchen/living room area was perfect for family time. There is plenty to do while staying on the property, you can use the hot tub, play outdoor games or indoor games. Tall Timber Lodge is centrally located and a short drive to everything. We will definitely be back!

We are the Stewart Family! We built our dream home, raised 3 sons while building our Sign Company, "Stewart Signs & Apparel" and zoom 20 years went by! Now our oldest son is married to a lovely woman we adore and our other 2 sons are finding their way through college, huge into fitness and learning about Day Trading. Mark and I (Becky) truly enjoy a glass of wine while relaxing in our hot tub on a starry night. We enjoy spending time with our dogs Sadie and Simon whether it be on a hike or hanging out by the campfire they bring us so much joy. In the summer months we are very busy with the Sign Business, but make time to explore the River and absolutely find it to be the most amazing place on earth. We love this region and are grateful to call it home. Life is good, God is great!

Why they chose this property

In 1997 Mark and I put a double wide in, what is now the basketball court. There we lived for 10 years until we built Tall Timbers Lodge. It has been a journey! The hours of workmanship is as immeasurable as the Love behind it. We feel it is too precious not to share with others.

What makes this property unique

This is by no means a home to take for granted. It is special, we have taken pride in providing you with the most comfortable stay and hope you find it as unique and lovely as we do. It is one of a kind! If you decide to stay with us again and let us know ahead of time we can give you a revisit rate or a gift certificate for $100 toward a unique Stewart Sign for your home.
