About this property
Private Restored Corner Apartment
If you love great design and want a perfectly central location, my apartment is the perfect spot! In a gorgeous historic neighborhood, Monte Vista, about 5 minutes north of downtown. My apartment is located on a tree-lined block near local restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. This lovingly renovated property combines historic materials with fresh design, and is perfect for those who want to spend time in a unique place. If this space is booked, check out my other listings.
The space
My place is perfect for a single traveler or a couple who are looking for a comfortable, intimate, beautifully-designed space to call home. The bedroom features a mix of original materials, while the unique bathroom features original plaster walls, original cast iron tub, and more contemporary fixtures. The bathroom has a spacious stand-up shower, toilet and single sink with mirror above with a full length mirror on the door. I provide bath and face towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and blow dryer. The queen-sized bed has a nightstand, task light, and outlets. The kitchen and living room has all the essentials: wifi, Smart TV, fridge, microwave, gas stove, Keurig coffee-maker, and basic glassware and dishes. I provide coffee, cream, and sugar. A pull out couch with extra pillows and bedding is available. The room features 70-year-old Oak floors, all of which is original to this 1930’s era property. The east-facing windows get beautiful morning light, which can be softened with the blinds. You will come and go through the the wrap around porch. The property is situated in a ‘U’ shape around a courtyard with a mature tree in the center. Great street/people-watching views from the right angle.
Guest access
This is a corner apartment on the first floor. The apartment is accessed from the well-lit covered porch. If you are traveling with more than one car, there is ample free parking on the street. One step up from the parking lot is required.
Guest interaction
I’m happy to be as interactive as you like. I live and work in San Antonio. You can come and go as you please, there is a combination lock on the door and you will not need to exchange keys. Most guests get along just fine, but should you need anything don’t hesitate to reach out. That’s what I’m here for.
Neighborhood overview
Neighborhood overview Close enough to Downtown to be cool by association, Monte Vista's historic character sets it apart from its neighbor's highly trafficked path. Worn-in hole-in-the-wall bars, food truck parks, parks, casual dives, and mural adorned bodegas lend Monte Vista a classical, artistic edge. Set just minutes from downtown, it becomes clear why many venture out to this neighborhood. Seriously, I've lived lots of places in San Antonio and this area is the best.
Getting around
Parking is abundant on the street. If you don't have a car, Uber or Lyft is the best way to get around. Typically takes me less than 5 minutes to get a car. There is also a really sweet bus that travels to all the hotspots in town, that is fun. They provide details on the surrounding area and is super inexpensive.
Other things to note
The property observes quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or other thoughts!
