The unit is woefully in need of updating, a deep cleaning, and some serious maintenance. The corners of some walls have been rubbed off down to the metal corners. Many of the the dishes in the kitchen are chipped. The cookware is scratched. The cookware, utensils, and glassware all appear to have come from the thrift store in downtown McCall. The kitchen shelving is lined with rubber, which is in need of cleaning. Bi-fold doors don’t function well. It is unclear if the bedspreads and blankets have been cleaned between reservations. Our feeling is probably not. They are folded/stuffed into drawers and atop shelves in the bedrooms, without any type of packaging indicating that they are clean. The 2 twin beds upstairs creak whenever there is movement on them, creating a noisy night for those who sleep in that room. (During our visit, we found food, used tissues, and a lipstick under a bed, so we vacuumed and dusted the room before it was used.) The shower in that room has mildew in it. Plenty of firewood was provided, but no kindling, and no axe or hatchet to make use of the wood to start a fire. There is a long, hanging wire outside the living room window. The front-door code provided in the arrival information was incorrect. We were able to open the lock-box to obtain a key. In our opinion, the issues are not housekeeping issues, they are issues with the management company, which does not provide enough time between reservations to properly clean and maintain the unit.
