About Wendy
I was brought up in a warm place outside Canada and only saw snow every a few years. In 1990’s, I came to Alberta as an international student. In the first Christmas holiday season in Alberta, a group of local volunteers invited new students including me to the Banff National Park to experience Canadian Rockies. They let me tasting cross country ski, skating and curling which I had never been exposed before.

With encouragement from many local friends, I learnt a few winter sports like downhill ski, cross country ski, and ice climbing. I enjoy hiking in the mountains as well. My real love is to do photography in the Rockies over past decades. I have a cozy space near the mountains today and will spend more time to enjoy the Rockies.

I would like to share my experience with all travelers who come to Canadian Rockies: Reach the Mountains!

Why they chose this property

In 2022, we stumbled upon this unique Vacation Home suite at Tamarack Lodge in Canmore, and we immediately knew that it was our dream vacation home. We enjoy staying this suite very much after long work weekdays in the urban environment.

We are adventure travelers and visited many beautiful mountains in the world. We would like to have the great pleasure of sharing our Rocky Mountain home with many friends, family, and travelers in the world.

What makes this property unique

This vacation home is located in the heart of downtown Canmore, and the gateway to the National Parks like Banff, Yoho, Kootenay and Jasper National Parks.

Canmore hosts a variety of festivals and events every year, like the Canmore Folk Festival, Highland Games, Canmore Uncorked, Winter Carnival, and more!

If you like hiking, please challenge the Ha Ling Peak. We once reached the peak by taking three hours from the trial in the back of the mountain.

Boating in Lake Minnewanka in the summer is very nice. This glacial lake located in the eastern area of Banff National Park is the longest and deepest lake in the park.

If you like ice climbing in the winter, Johnson Canyon is one of many places to go.

Our most favor winter sport is downhill ski at the ski resorts of Sunshine, Lake Louise and Kicking Horse with 30, 60, 90 minutes driving distance, respectively.

Riding to the top of Sulphur Mountain by Gondola or hiking to the top, you can overview spectacular rocky mountains and the Town of Banff.

Bring your skates and discover Canmore's Pond for a wonderful family time.

Horseback riding, water rafting in the Bow Valley, and walking on an ancient glacier (Icefield Parkway), and much more, you will love these all.
