We would highly recommend Granite Point. This exceptional cottage was beautifully landscaped and meticulously maintained. It is very private and the lake was perfect for canoeing and kayaking. The waterfront's spacious dock and provided water crafts/toys made the afternoons extremely enjoyable. The large covered outdoor porch as well as the screened in eating area provided us with an excellent space to spend further countless hours with our family. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. Truly Kevin and Victoria have thought of everything to make this a perfect cottage experience!
This property exceeded our (high) expectations in every way. The property is very private with waterfront on 3 sides providing lots of space to play or enjoy quiet time. Our grandchildren (age 3 and 5) enjoyed the sandy bottom portion of the lakefront as well as the floating pad, while the dock provided great swimming for the adults. The property was well equipped with non-motorized water toys (kayak, canoe and SUP). The cottage itself was beautiful, clean and well equipped with everything we needed and more. Kevin was a great host proactively reaching out with advice and instructions and also very responsive to our requests.
While the weather didn’t quite cooperate with us, our stay at Granite Point met our high expectations and is the one of the best rentals over our 20+ years of renting.
We quickly stopped calling it a “property” and switch to “the grounds” due to its size and all the special places to just sit and enjoy. We highly recommend a scavenger hunt to find all the hidden little gems throughout the gardens.
Communication with the owners was excellent from time of booking all the way through to the end of our stay.
Everything in the listing was as stated and in excellent conditions. No negative surprises whatsoever. My only “note” would be that the loft bedroom has a steep and narrow staircase. Might be tricky for an older generation, but it was never a problem for us (6 adults). If you seek a clam and peaceful vacation within a nature setting, then Granite Point should be seriously considered! It is definitely on our radar for another rental.
This incredibly impressive and inviting lake home far exceeded our expectations. Pictures do not do it justice! We felt at home the moment we walked though the front door. The beds were SO comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped; we were left wanting for nothing. We found many little “surprises” as we explored the beautiful property. Granite Point provided many opportunities for activities that kept us busy (or relaxed) for the 9 days we were there. The care, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail of the owners, made our experience extremely enjoyable and memorable. Communication with the owners was excellent; easy and immediate! Five-star all the way!
Cottage was great. Property and waterfront is perfect for children of all ages and perfect for Adults to relax. Space had everything you need and kitchen was well stocked (almost too well as there was no pantry space). We had a fantastic stay and will be back. Thank you Kevin for hosting us.
We recently returned from our relaxing getaway at Granite Point. I have nothing but amazing things to say about the property, the host, and location. The grounds are extensive and have a very private feel. We enjoyed all 3 docks, the fire pit area, the indoor screened porch, and outdoor water toys including the Maui mat, paddle boards, and kayak. The cottage itself is stunning, very spacious, and very well stocked with all the kitchen utensils, bowls, wine and champagne flutes, serving plates, etc you could ever need. The cottage stayed cool even on very warm days, and had fans in each room which we barely even needed to use if it all. You can tell a lot of care has been put into the decor of the cottage, with its modern style and technology, yet lots of antique touches that give it a lot of character. Kevin was extremely responsive and an excellent host. I would highly recommend Kevin and Victoria’s place to others!
This was our second stay at Granite Point. The property and cottage are spectacular. Very relaxing, great swimming and boating, well equipped kitchen. We couldn't have asked for more.

Our return to Granite Point was excellent and the cottage and property were more beautiful than we remembered from our first stay last year. As usual we had everything we needed for a comfortable holiday. Great and communicative hosts. Looking forward to returning again!
We had a wonderful week's stay at this property. What a great getaway from the city, and a fairly easy drive from the GTA. Beautifully decorated with all of the amenities of home, from the lovely linens and furniture, to the fully appointed kitchen and baths. Photos online can sometimes be deceiving, but not in this case.. In fact, I would say that the surroundings were not fully captured in the photos! It truly had incredible views of the water, and lots of great seating areas to choose from. including a large covered back porch which kept us dry when it rained.
Lots of interesting little shops in Bobcaygeon (20 minutes away) and other essential shops services in Buckhorn. Some beautiful art at Whetung Ojibwa Centre, also close by. Great walking each morning along the road, particularly during the fall.
We look forward to visiting again at some point in the future.
We stayed for 2 weeks in August. The property is huge with water on three sides - super private, lots of trees, well landscaped and maintained. Perfect for our toddler to walk all over, including the small bridge over the frog pond. Nice swimming off the main dock, although some lilly-pads/weeds. Lots of chairs all about and lots of places to chill all over. The cottage was very comfortable, clean, well-taken care of, and had everything we needed. Spacious kitchen capable of handling a few chefs for group meal prep. Nice bathrooms, living room and big family style table inside. Short drive to either Buckhorn or Bobcaygeon for supplies if necessary. Responsive and considerate host! We look forward to returning!

Spectacular!
This property is as described...and more. The property and lake home are beautiful and well maintained. This is definitely "glamour cottaging". While being spacious, with all of the amenities, the decor and feel of the place is still rustic and woodsy.
The owner was very easy to communicate with and promptly provided all of the information we needed about the cottage and the surrounding area and lake.
We enjoyed boating the lake and adjacent lakes, boat trips to Bobcaygeon, tubing, kayaking, swimming off one of the 3 docks, jumping/swimming at the famous jumping rock just a short boat ride away, fishing from the docks, and just plain relaxing in the sun on the docks. We also enjoyed some great meals that we prepared in the well equipped kitchen.
I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family and will be renting again ourselves.
