About this property
Private Waterfront Cottage on Lac des Roches
Our private waterfront cottage is set on 1 acre with 100’ of south facing shoreline on Lac des Roches. It features all the comforts of home and is newly renovated and decorated in rustic mountain décor. The highlights of the property are the large deck overlooking the lake and mountains and the large floating dock where you can enjoy the mountain lake setting.
Our cottage is located on Lac des Roches, which is along the “fishing highway” on the edge of British Columbia’s Caribou Region. It’s an easy 5 hour drive from Vancouver or 8 hours from Edmonton. Our cottage is accessible on a quiet paved service road just off highway 24. Lac des Roches is a crystal clear lake set amongst mountains and forests. The area is well known for fishing and our lake are deep and clear so is great for swimming and watersports. The area offers a variety of activities including fishing, hiking, canoeing, bird watching, boating, swimming, golfing, rafting, horse back riding, biking, and ATVing. Wells Gray Provincial park is located just 40 mins away with and abundance of activities and featuring several beautiful waterfalls.
Our cottage is located on the south facing shore of Lac des Roches and most mornings start with the sun shining on beautiful crystal clear calm water. Coffee on the large private floating dock just a few steps away from the cottage is a peaceful way to start the day with the quiet sounds of nature. There is very little water traffic on our lake and no development on the opposite side, so the only view is of natural forest and shoreline across the lake. The dock and the water is a great way to spend the day. The lake is great for swimming, watersports, fishing or exploring the many bays and secluded shorelines. Our outdoor firepit at the edge of the lake is a highlight for spending the evening relaxing while watching and listening to the sounds of the lake. Loons often call and most evenings, you can see the moon rising over the mountains and reflecting on the lake.
Our large deck overlooking the mountains and lake to the south is a great place to relax and features an outdoor patio dining set and barbeque.
Our large floating dock is great for swimming and relaxing and can provide secure moorage for larger boats. Water access to launch boats is provided at the Eagle Island Resort or Peaceful Cove Resort for a fee. Boat trailers can be stored along the service road at our cottage entrance.
The inside of our cottage is newly renovated and offers all the comforts of home in a rustic mountain décor. Inside finishing features hickory hardwood and slate tile flooring, solid maple cabinets, a wood burning fireplace and large windows offering an expansive view of the surrounding environment. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, fridge, oven, stovetop and sink. The bathroom feels like a spa with its slate tile on the floor and walls and a comfortable claw foot bathtub to relax in. Each bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and window. Our cottage also includes a clothes washer and dryer.

About the host
Hosted by Darcy Broen

I bought this property in 2010 after falling in love with the area. Since buying it, I have completely renovated the cottage and have added a huge deck and floating dock. My friends and family (2 teen-aged daughters) enjoy all that the area has to offer including boating, watersports, atv'ing, snowmobiling, fishing, exploring, fires by the lake and the quiet wilderness surrounding.
