Beautiful Lake house on private 28 acre lake

28 acre semi private lake in the back yard (only 1 other house on the lake). Formerly the White Birches Campsite Lodge. This place is absolutely beautiful. When you walk in, you're met with a gorgeous cabin-style interior. The smell of wood fills the huge, beautiful living/lounge space. Cathedral ceilings with huge barn beams and floor to ceiling fireplace. Multiple glass double doors in the main room leading to the deck allow for a great view of the lake. You would have use of the 325 acres of Department of Environmental Land surrounding the property.

There are many trails for hiking, Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing. The previous owner had all 335 acres and sold 10 to me and 325 to Department of Environmental Conservation. Windham mountain is 5 minutes away and Hunter mountain is about 15 minutes away. Large TV and huge fireplace. very large kitchen with granite counters. Groceries are in Hunter or Prattsville both about 15 minutes away. Many great restaurants in the area in Windham, Hunter and Tannersville. We have a grill on the deck with 3 different sections 1 for gas, 1 for coal and 1 for wood.

Bedroom 3 has 1 king bed and 1 pull out day bed (sleeps 4)
Bedroom 4 has 1 full bed 1 twin bed and twin bunk bed.
Office has a futon (sleeps 1).
Living room has 2 couch beds (sleeps 4)
House sleeps a total of 15 people comfortably.

WOULD GO BACK

We stayed here for a long weekend with my entire immediate family (6 adults, 5 children). The house was spacious and perfect for what we needed. The property though was the BEST part! right on the lake with tons of privacy and the view was SPECTACULAR! we fished and boated all day and then roasted marshmallows at the fire pit all night. It was relatively clean (considering its pet friendly) and was stocked with pretty much everything we needed. The owners checked in with us a few times to make sure we were ok. We weren't looking for anything super fancy - just a down to earth, outdoorsy type vacation. If thats what you're into - this is the house for you!

PERFECT!

Seriously, this house was PERFECT! We're a group of nine guys who grew up together, now in our early 40s, and every summer we rent a house for a long weekend getaway. We cook (used the smoker to make a brisket one day and beef ribs the next - turned out great) we drink (catching up around the fire on a cool night- can't beat that!) we play poker (deck is big and comfortable, with a great view!) - and this year we added something new to the mix: we went out on the lake in kayak and canoe! The house was in great condition, plenty of room to spread out so we're not all on top of each other. A third bathroom would've been helpful at times but I heard that's in the plans for the future. Every year we've gone to a different location to keep things fresh, but this was the first time we all agreed that we'd be more than happy to rent this one again. It was a weekend of extra-ordinary magnitude. Highly recommended! (Unless you want to book it at the exact time we want to next year. In that case, don't do it.)

Beautiful retreat

We went here with 9 guys who all just wanted to disconnect for the weekend and found it to fit the bill exactly. We brought a bunch of food and with the combo grill had no problem staying on property the entire weekend. The lake view is gorgeous right from the deck and the place is so spacious and has plenty of sleeping options. Thanks again!

Lake house fun

Family with 3 young kids and 2 dogs had a wonderful time going on walks in the woods, fishing on the lake and making s'mores by the lakeside firepit.

Lots of room!

Overall the house was nice. The Great Room is beautiful with an enormous fireplace and amount of space. Great kitchen which is well stocked. Appliances/Plumbing all worked well. Main source of heat is the fireplace so that was a bit of a pain; there are heating units in the walls/all rooms. The deck overlooks the lake which was really pretty.

Gorgeous Peaceful Lake

This place is absolutely beautiful. When you walk in, you're met with a gorgeous cabin-style interior. The smell of wood fills the huge, beautiful living/lounge space. We arrived late, so when we saw the views in the morning, it was absolutely breathtaking. We took a short hike along the side of the lake following feeder streams and it was absolutely magical. The land is maintained by the Department of Environmental Conservation, and we even saw some wildlife. The sun sets just over the lake and is really beautiful, the multiple glass double doors in the main room allow for a great view of the lake. We had a very comfortable, private and romantic weekend. When we were booking, the description really didn't do the listing justice, it shattered our expectations. A wonderful experience , complete 10 out of 10 Oh and did we mention Lake .. WOW Cannot disappoint , A MUST VISIT FOR ANYONE.

This is the only negative review we have ever received. The property is 10 acres and we the owners have a home on one of the acres in the back. The house that we rent sits on 2 acres that border the lake. We had 4 guests this holiday weekend so there were not 8-10 people. We were there the entire weekend and we spoke to the renters several times. They never told us that they had any problems. If they had let us know about any problems we would have taken care of it immediately. One of the lights burned out and we needed to replace a bulb. The keys were hanging on the hook in the kitchen and the renters were shown where the keys were when they arrived. If a pot in the cabinet was not cleaned properly it was probably washed by a former guest and put away that way and we did not notice it. I don't know why a towel was damp as we take all the towels right from the dryer to put out. The humidity was unbelievably high over the weekend which would explain any towel feeling damp. We have no wifi because it doesn't work most of the time in this area and we state in our listing that there is no wifi. The satellite works fine unless there is a storm or high winds just like satellite works everywhere in the world. I have a very sensitive nose and I'm allergic to mold. I have never smelled any mold or had any allergic reactions in this home.

Amazing Lake House

Beautiful piece of land located about 5 minutes outside the town of Windham NY. House is open and perfect for groups. Awesome porch with grill overlooking the lake, with fire pits for the evenings. Hosts are very helpful and available. Highly recommend if you are looking for a spot in the area!
