1250 ft in that direction is the property line with the National Forest.
Great fishing from this end of pier 1. Great swimming from the other end.

About this property

A Northwoods Shangri-la / Jagdschloss Four Mile Lake / an extraordinary 83 acres

This property, situated on the shores of Four Mile Lake, is in (that's right, in) the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in the Great Northwoods of Wisconsin.
The Three Lakes Chain is part of the Eagle River-Three Lakes Chain of Lakes. This series of 28 lakes is the largest freshwater chain of lakes in the world. The Three Lakes part of the chain starts with the Burnt Rollways Reservoir and includes 20 lakes ranging in size from 123 acres to 1012 acres.
There are two sections to this property. 20 acres of lakefront land and 63 acres of forest land. The 2200sf log cabin sits on a point giving almost a 180 degree view of the beautiful lake and pristine shorelines. This is the most UNoccupied lake in the chain. Very few lakeside homes creating an unspoiled view of the lake. The 63 acres of forest land right across Old Military Road has miles of trails for exploration by hike or by bike.
The log home is amazing with 2400 square feet of open ceiling living space. Three bedrooms in the main home and a separate, but attached bedroom with ensuite bathroom in what we call the annex.
The Sam Campbell Trail is a short distance away and his island home visible from the property. If you don't know who Sam Campbell is, take a few minutes to "Google" and get to know him. One of his books, "Too Much Salt and Pepper" is onsite for the reading.
This place is amazing!
This is not just a summer paradise. Imagine an winter wonderland only Hollywood could cook up and you've got a natural one here in the Northwoods! Snowmobile season starts about mid-December. We've got one of the best trail systems in the country. Bring your sleds or rent from one of the area shops. Access to the trail system is right across the lake. Easy access from the driveway through our small crick-side forest and onto the lake. Nature, restaurants and taverns a short distance away.

In the photos you'll find a short video (featuring yours truly) which showcases this property as a partner organization of the Nicolet-Wolf River Scenic Byway, one of five Wisconsin scenic byways, a 145 mile route through the heart of the Chequamegon/Nicolet Forest. We are at the very north end of the byway making it very convenient for those of you traveling from the south to enjoy this great ride. It is my preferred route from Milwaukee. We are a Wisconsin-born couple (with three kids) returning (part time) after 32 years of military service to the dreams of our youth. We've lived around the world, but there's no place like Wisconsin, especially the Northwoods.

Why they chose this property

This is an amazing patch of God's green (and sometimes white) earth. After literally years of exhaustive research, we bought on the chain a few years ago, but not where I wanted to be, on THIS Lake (there are very few properties on the lake and it's rare when one comes on the market). Well, after a few years of great experiences at our 950sf cabin, and while thinking forward to future grandchildren, this place came on the market and we jumped at it! The picture above is of our first family reunion in many years, Christmas 2017, right here at the Jadgschloss. Wondering about this word, Jagdschloss? Well, currently we live in Germany and came across this word while visiting a royal hunting lodge from an era gone by. It seemed perfect. We're far from royalty, but the property seems fitting of the label, and we hope our guests feel like royalty during their stay.

What makes this property unique

There are many, but just to name a few - firepit with comfortable seating down by the lake; two person swing hanging from the trees also overlooking the lake (and Sam Campbell Island); screened in hexagonal gazebo with a six-man (tight squeeze) Spa attached to the wrap around porch in case the outdoors beckons under adverse conditions; and speaking of the porch, a bench attached to the railing avails lots of seating as well as rockers and Adirondacks; amazing night sky-I have never seen more stars in my life; the sound of a screech owl as you walk through the woods (you'll never forget it!); deer meandering through the yard; all types of birds feasting on the birdfeeders; nature goes on and on...
