We had a great stay at this cottage! It was spotless, comfortable, and everything we needed was there. The location was perfect just minutes away from the beach. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and check in was simple. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and can't wait to get back.

I have been renting in grand beach since I was a kid so I have had a lot of experiencing with rentals, here’s my take on this cabin; The location was nice as it was down a dead end so not too much traffic but definitely not a 5 min walk to the beach like said -more like 15 so plan for that. No fans provided either. The fridge was pretty small, no dressers except one that had mouse poo in it so I didn’t want to use it. Beds were all pretty uncomfortable. There was hardly anywhere to store our groceries. Most cabins I’ve stayed in provided some coffee pods/ reusable pods , sugar, shampoo or soap or even a jug of water as courtesy but unfortunately not the case with this one. No proper doors on any of the rooms. Also said they provided beach chairs which they don’t. They were quick at communicating if I had any questions though.

Great Location!

We had a wonderful stay for 3 nights, 3 adults and a 1 yr. old. No facilities for a young child which was expected, but we came prepared with a playpen/bed which we were able to slide into one of the rooms. Older Cabin, can use a bit of TLC but is at the end of an avenue so very quiet and view of lake from the cabin is great, with wonderful sunsets seen from the front deck. Short walk to beach area and playground for kids. Had a kitchen sink plumbing problem, which was a bit of kink to the day, but things like this do happen unexpectedly. Steve got back to us quickly and was able to get someone there the next day which was a Sunday on a long weekend so weekend saved! Thanks Steve!

GB reunion

It went very well. I would like to have had the passcode for the door key much sooner in advance. We would not have been able to get in if I had not gone to my cousins cottage and used his wifi. We would have to have found other accommodations. I begged for the code before we left home (500 km drive ) I will never rent again without the code well in advance.

Description doesn't not match reality

We arrived on Sunday with the intent to leave on Wednesday morning for a working vacation. The internet was so bad that we were unable to stay in touch with family and work. The internet was erratic meaning it was intermittently very slow and non-existent. We left before check-out on Tuesday morning. I contacted the property manager (owner) to let them know that we had checked out due to the problems with the internet which meant I couldn't work. The listing should not list WIFI unless it has a rider stating that it intermittently. There was not offer of a rebate for the night that we didn't stay.

Worst experience ever/ pest infestation/ RATS!

I rented 4 days/3 nights stay from July 6 to July 9. We arrived at 8:00PM and went for dinner, got back at 10:00PM and as soon as we started settling down, my son opened the second drawer on the dresser and found a RAT! I checked it as I couldn't believe it, and yes. There was a pillow with a hole and part of the interior outside. I saw a long tail first and then the face of the rat. I called the property manager, Erica and she didn't provide/suggest any solution. I explained I had 2 kids with me and we couldn't stay as not knowing with a rat inside a drawer and she said "I totally understand". I also called again asking for alternative accommodations to avoid driving back to Winnipeg in the middle of the night. I sent an email to vrbo page and got a response asking me to contact the property owner Steven Friesen the next morning. I did and he minimized the situation, saying that I should "chase out the rat or kill it". The owner suggested I left the door open and that is how the rat entered, but I can guarantee I didn't we opened the door for few minutes as we enter and even if the rat entered at that moment... how managed to get inside a dresser's drawer at one of the rooms? After 2 hours he called back offering a "cleaning" and 1 night refund to go back. I asked if the cleaning was to be complete by a pest control company but the answer was no. I filed a claim with vrbo but no much help as I don't have a picture of the rat. I am very disappointed on the entire experience, treatment from owner and from vrbo. I don't feel secure with the process, even vrbo guarantees "booking with confidence". I am an honest person and I am not lying. I have no reason to do it. I rented a cabin to enjoy time-off with my kids and didn't receive the service as agreed. Rats transmit diseases. I was afraid to keep my kids or myself inside the cabin. I didn't know if was just one or more or if the defecation was inside the drawer, bed or floor or any other areas of the house. I am just asking my money back.

For a cottage that sleeps 6 the amenities were lacking. Dishes were incomplete and appliances were broken or failing.The most inconvenient was the lack of closets or hooks for clothing. The location was great.

Very nice rental property. Sitting on the front porch with my coffee looking out at the lake was just the recharge I was in need of. The cute cabin had everything we needed. I hope to be back next summer!

worst holiday ever

Property was not as described. It was in bad shape. Most of the blinds were broken. Beds were old and uncomfortable. BBQ ignitor did not work, and there were no matches or lighter. No kettle. Old dishes, cups, silverware. Had one dishcloth, one hand towel until 5 days later when we were told there was extra in a bin. Towel bar in bathroom keeps falling off the wall. Kettle and lighter arrived on doorstep five days later. We left a day early as we could not stay any longer. Carpet was filthy. Decks were unsafe. Property Manager was very rude and unhelpful. Don't rent this property. Neighbours say there has never been a repeat renter.

It was a cute cozy cabin. We had a lovely time and it was great to be just a short walk to the beach. We also had a beautiful view. The fridge did not keep things cold enough - I think updating this would have been helpful but it was not a big issue. Overall, a really wonderful space for a quick beach getaway.

Cottage Review - 61-6th Ave Grand Beach

Excellent location and very enjoyable week. The cottage was however missing a few basic amenities that would have made the stay a little more enjoyable such as hooks in the bathroom and elsewhere to hang clothing; hand soap in the bathroom; and a toilet paper roll holder. Nice quiet neighbourhood and very peaceful overall. We will recommend it to others.

The view from our living room window was breathtaking!

We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a comfortable, well kept and well stocked kitchen to stay in. Just a short walk to the beautiful beach with many marvelous vendors.

Great location and service but

AC blew n they had it replaced immediately great service. Can’t beat locale. We Washed the windows to enjoy the view as they were so dirty could barely see out. New mattresses desperately needed. Fully stocked except for a one cup coffee maker. Lotsa windows enjoyed lake breezes but difficult to slide open due to dirt in the tracks. Carpet had supposedly been shampooed but very stained so didn’t really want to take shoes off as required.
