Berkshire Village Carriage House - Super Private!!

Private, unique getaway in the center of the Berkshires. We're a 3 minute walk to the Ashuwillticock rail trail. Situated on over 100 wooded acres with lots of walking trails, extraordinary trees, land forms and private seating areas and spaces to explore.

The cottage is a newly built. Super comfortable space above a stand alone 3 car garage. We have a private entry driveway and parking area exclusive to the cottage. Open floor plan with fun window seats, full kitchen and living room and full bath. It's a unique thoughtful design.

Radiant floor heat in the winter, central A.C. in the summer.

What an ideal place to make home base for an extended weekend in the Berkshires with activities. Place is a gem in the woods but accessible to everything.

Host was very friendly and helpful. House was absolutely adorable and decorated well. Plenty of parking. Beautiful, well-maintained property. Great for hikes. Lovely fire pit area and lots of wood. Very convenient location to recreation in The Berkshires. I would stay here again.

The carriage house is very cute, but there was overwhelming smell of disinfectant, we tried opening a window and airing it iut hut it didnt help. the photos online of the driveway are confusing because what you see is not where guests should park. a picture of thrbguest parking would've been helpful. Also, if you plan to use the fire pit or sit outside bring your own chairs. what's there is broken and very dirty. But its a nice loaction beautiful grounds and near several sites we wanted to see.

Had an absolutely amazing time! great location, quiet, close to everything! Plenty of things to do nearby, and host left plenty of brochures to find food or activities. Only minor downer was that the oven seemed touchy

Great home base for exploring the Berkshires, bring your bike!

This cozy carriage house is a great spot for a couple who want to explore the Berkshires. It's minutes away from the Ashuwillticook rail trail with 13 miles of beautiful Berkshire scenery and wildlife to soak in as you pedal the trail. It is within easy driving distance of all the attractions to the north and south, and the property itself has multiple trails with hidden surprises.

Wonderful Getaway

Chris was a wonderful host! The cottege was extremely clean and updated. In the perfect location to the rail trail and not far from restraunts, stores and tanglewood. The property was beautiful as well. Chris gave great recommendations for dinner and things to do in the area. Thank you Chris we will return in the future!

Winter Recharge/Get Away

The property was as advertised. We could not have been more pleased with our stay. The host was excellent, accommodating, and so pleasant! The trails surrounding the property were beautiful and great exercise! The fresh air hikes were just what we needed. The interior was cozy and quaint. Everything we needed was supplied. Highly recommend this stay! You will not be disappointed!

Quite a unique vacation rental

The large wood setting is maintained in a very special way. Both the owner and Charlie, the maintainer of the grounds, create together something that is both quite natural but also a work of art. We were very fortunate to get a tour of the scene which we will not forget. One practical suggestion would be to develope a guide to the rental itself, that would provide information about it and what is available nearby.

Better than any hotel or place I've been to

The cottage is amazing. We were thrilled by how clean it was. It was very cozy and comforting to stay inside. The surrounding area and property are made to be enjoyed through nature (check out Mount Greylock if you go). Lots of hiking trails and easy walks. You can have a fire right outside, and they even set up a fire for us! This is one of the best, if not the best, stays I have had. You will not be disappointed. Also Lasco was very nice and sweet. Gave us a tour on the trails. We hope to see him again.

Beautiful space, wonderful host

Nice decor, fully equipped and well set up. Next door to host who was very warm helpful and attentive. There is a separate entrance to the freestanding carriage house that is very easy to miss. Driveway needs better signage and lighting if you arrive after dark. Nice 1/2 mile walk through woods to nearby wetland. We will be back.

Berkshire Get-Away Trip

Cottage was a great getaway spot. I loved the availability of natural areas for walking, birding and looking for bugs. I was able to put out lights to attract moths and got some good pictures and 41 species of moths. It turned out exactly as I had hoped except for too much rain. The only problem was the bed. Your set-up is not really designed for mature bodies that might have to get up in the middle of the night. No way to exit on one side without climbing over partner. I slept on the sofa which turned out OK. Enjoyed meeting Robert and hearing about the development of the property. Plus we were close to good food. And followed Robert's recommendations.

This is a beautiful property and very well maintained. The property has top notch craftsmanship throughout and is very cozy. The location is very convenient for getting to Williamstown, Lennox, Pittsfield, etc. The property is private and we loved our stay here.

We loved walking the many paths on the property and admiring the wonders all along the way. Stone benches throughout invited us to sit and admire one of the gorgeous features of this 50 acre natural wonderland. The owner's love of his land is obvious throughout. We were also filled with wonder at the architectural details in the carriage house cottage where we stayed for three nights. To top this all off, we were lucky enough to encounter the owner on one of our walks. He was kind, attentive and gracious, so well suited to the house and property he has clearly devoted decades to perfecting. What a find! We will definitely be returning!

Wonderful, responsive host. When we noticed the Moka Pot missing, he brought his own for us to use. It's a studio apartment with lovely window seats and enough room for two of us to do yoga at the same time. The only recommendation I have is please install a screen door so the cool outside weather can circulate and we wouldn't need air conditioning during many of our July days.
