About this property
Suwannee River Bungalow
Get away from it all. Easy access to Fanning Springs (1.0 mile up river) and Manatee Springs (8 miles down river). Bring a boat, or two 2-person kayaks available for use. Great views from the deck. Very peaceful.
Please make note the boat ramp at this property is not usable, however, there is a boat ramp at Fanning Springs which is minutes away.
Most people that know the Suwannee River feel that the home's location is fantastic, and the best of all the options. The river in this area is very large and grand, especially compared to up river where it can be quite narrow and crowded. It's size makes it great for skiing, tubing, and boating, and dealing with other boaters isn't really an issue. It is far enough up river (about 32 miles by boat) that you don't have the biting yellow flies of the coast, but close enough to boat down to the coast and back for fishing, or spending the day on your own private secluded island beach. The area has very little development as well, so you get the real sense of being in "old world" Florida. It truly is a unique, wonderful experience.
Please note: cell service may be limited. Unit does not currently have WIFI. This property is quite rustic and remote, and is a great way to get away from it all. However, there is limited access to cellular phone service. Please understand the nature of your get away before booking.
Master bedroom with queen bed, guest bedroom with double bed and pull out sofa in family room. Sleeps 4.
Enjoy sitting around the firepit or watching the sturgeons jumping by while sitting on the floating dock. In the winter you may see a manatee. Nature at it's best.
One of the more common questions we get is regarding docking a boat at the property. You have a few options with regards to keeping a boat on the Suwannee River (flow of the river and boat wakes are a problem). Approximately 1/2 mile down the road from our rental house is the Fanning Springs boat ramp.
Leaving the boat in the water with the current and other boaters creating wakes is possible, but not optimal. You can tie-off to the floating dock but you would need several good boat-bumpers. Again, the current and boat wakes put your boat at risk unless you are careful, and we are not responsible for boat damage or lost boats. There is room to keep a boat, trailer and vehicle at the property.

About the host
Hosted by Cami Tyrone
Our family has owned a home on the Suwannee River for 10 years now. We enjoy spending time on the water and relaxing with our friends during the summer months and hosting football and holiday parties during the fall/winter months. We have two children who have grown up bringing friends out the river for birthday parties and just to spend a fun weekend. Our Australian Shepherd loves running the property and hopping on a jet ski or the boat with us. We currently live and work in Gainesville and escape to the river for down time.
