Bears Rest - Authentic Mountain Experience

Come experience the wonders for yourself and stay with us at Bears Rest. You will love staying in this charming one bedroom, one bath cabin. It has everything you need for an authentic mountain experience!

The lodge inspired decor and the free-standing wood-burning fireplace give this home a distinct mountain feel. The kitchen is furnished with a full size refrigerator, stove top and oven. We provide the cookware and cooking utensils, as well as flatware and dinnerware. There's a microwave and coffee maker, too. All you need to bring are the groceries! Spend time on the outdoor deck, relax and rest in your new home away from home.

Built to accommodate three, there is one queen bedroom with a twin size daybed. The cabin has central heat and air, cable television and ceiling fans. Bears Rest is equipped with an outdoor dining area, so you can even enjoy your meals outside as you take in the tranquility of the forest. If you like s'mores and toasted marshmallows, this cabin offers access to a community fire pit for your favorite campfire treats.

From Bears Rest, you are in close proximity to a variety of sensational attractions. The popular town of Alpine Helen is only about 5 miles away. Modeled after a Bavarian Village, Helen provides a unique experience. While you're there, you can explore shops and galleries, restaurants and candy stores. If you time your visit right, you can experience one of Helen's exciting annual festivals, like Oktoberfest. The cabin is located near Unicoi State Park, making it easy to discover the natural wonders of the region. From the park, you can take hikes on the many trails, cross over sparkling creeks and climb to see the tumbling waterfalls. Whether you are here for adventure, relaxation, or both, you're sure to have an amazing time!

Cozy Getaway

Quiet and close location to Unicoi State Park and the town of Helen. Clean cabin. The hot tub was a nice touch, we just couldn't get the light to come on. We enjoyed our stay!

Great Little Cabin

The Bears Rest is a great little rustic cabin that's perfect for a couples getaway. The cabin was clean and fairly secluded. It wasn't hard to find or get to. We would definitely stay here again!

Great couples getaway

Property and cabin were a great. Having a couples getaway here was perfect. GA Mountain Rentals were very hospitable and checked on us. When we had an issue with the hot tub they took care of it very promptly. Great vacation.

Great mountain experience!

Everything was accurate and perfect! Loved how close to town we were, and when enjoying the hot tub felt like we were truly in the mountains. My partner says the cabin needs a better kitchen knife but since I don’t cook everything was perfect!!

My only suggestions are that the mattress in the bedroom could stand to be replaced/updated, and it would be nice to have some curtains or blinds for privacy at the back door.

Bear’s Rest Cabin

The cabin overall was nice and comfortable. The only issue we had was that the tv did not work. It was replaced the day after I called. The hot tub was used once , but the clean filter/change water alert was on. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. We purchased firewood so we could enjoy a fire in the evening. We were close to a few parks, so we enjoyed hiking to see a couple of waterfalls and we went zip lining. The alpine town of Helen was close and very interesting to visit. We enjoyed walking around the town and experiencing the mountain coaster ride.

Overall really liked the area of the cabin. Was clean as far as countertops bathroom but deep clean it wasnt. Had a bad oder to it as soon as you walk in. Lots of spiderwebs all over. I know its in the woods but could have been way better as far as that goes.

We have stayed at numerous cabins they manage. As for the cabin, the only thing I would recommend is increased water pressure. Sometimes it slowed to a trickle but not a deal breaker. A bear came to visit on our last night there and that was really cool! We will always stay with GRM!

It’s an adorable property, clean, and the process of booking was painless, quick, and Sherry was on top of emails and calls. We were celebrating our honeymoon and even had a cute bottle of Prosecco and some silk pillowcases that was such a sweet gesture! There was also WiFi in the cabin which was an added bonus. We didn’t have any issues with our stay but Sherry still followed up with a courtesy call to make sure we were comfortable and to see if we needed anything. We will definitely be renting from Georgia Mountain Rentals again! We can’t wait to come back! Thank you Sherry and team! We appreciate it!
