Holiday on Armona Sept 2023

We first discovered Armona on a day trip several years ago, and this September was our third time holidaying on the island. The island of Armona is beautiful and peaceful. The house is well situated, just two minutes from one of the small shops and restaurants on the island, about 5 minutes walk in one direction to the ferry, and 15 minutes in the other direction, along the path and boardwalk, to Armona beach. The house is very well fitted out, with far more plates, cutlery and cooking equipment than we needed… even a toaster and a kettle! The dishwasher was a bonus too. The best part of the house for us was the covered terrace. All through the day this has some shade and some sun, so is perfect of eating, reading and just relaxing. It’s above the surrounding houses, so has a view in several directions (we watched to moonrise from here). Monica greeted us on our arrival to show us around, and was easy to contact if we needed anything. It was lovely holiday and a lovely place to stay… we hope to go back… thoroughly recommend it.

Séjour agréable, nous aurions aimé savoir pour les gros travaux sur l’île avant car c’était très difficile d’accès avec un bébé et des valises. Le logement est adapté à un séjour en famille en toute simplicité.Juste il n’y a pas de bain à remous contrairement à la description. L’hôte est charmante et accueillante. L’île est jolie

sehr schönes Sommer Ferienhaus

Die Besitzerin war freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Sie hat uns sogar einen Drucker aus ihrem eigenen Haus zur Verfügung gestellt, weil wir uns auch Arbeit mit in die Ferien genommen hatten. Das Haus ist ein traditionelles, portugiesisches Sommerhaus. Es steht auf einem kleinen Hügel und überschaut die Häuser herum. Man kann einen kleinen Zipfel vom Meer von beiden Seiten der Insel sehen. Es gibt eine große überdachte Terrasse, der Weg zum Meer braucht keine 5 Minuten zu Fuß.Leider hatten wir den ganzen Monat Februar Regen und sehr viel Wind, was wohl ausgesprochen ungewöhnlich ist. Das Haus ist für besseres Wetter gebaut. Wir haben dennoch eine gute Zeit auf der sehr schönen, ruhigen Insel gehabt. Im Februar sind kaum Menschen in all den Häusern herum. Ein paar Bars und Restaurants hatten offen und auch mehrere Läden in denen man alles kaufen konnte was man zum Leben braucht. Dennoch sind wir ein paar Mal aufs Festland gefahren um in dem großen Laden einzukaufen. Wir haben in Ruhe arbeiten können und waren mit dem kleinen Kind jeden Tag am Strand und haben Muscheln gesammelt und Sandburgen gebaut. Zum Teil mit Regenhose, Gummistiefeln und Regenjacke.

Férias em família no paraíso

A casa está super bem localizada e tem umas condições fantásticas. Os anfitriões foram super cuidadosos e sempre disponíveis. A ilha é realmente um paraíso, tem um ambiente divertido e transmite muita paz. As praias são fabulosas.

Heerlijk huis op een geweldige locatie.

We hebben als familie genoten van dit fijne huis waar alles wat je nodig hebt aanwezig was. De bedden waren opgemaakt met heerlijke schoon fris beddengoed . Potten en pannen, borden en bestek in overvloed aanwezig . Handdoeken volop voor de heerlijk grote badkamer en de kleine badkamer bij een van de slaapkamers. Groot terras met prachtig uitzicht. Vriendelijke ontvangst door de host Monica met perfecte uitleg over het huis. Omgeving is fantastisch met voldoende mogelijkheden om ons als familie te vermaken met het strand en de lagoon op een korte afstand. We hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad en de afwezigheid van auto’s op het eiland maakt het een veilige omgeving voor jong en oud. Mochten we weer besluiten om Ilha de Armona als vakantie eiland te bezoeken komen we zeker terug bij dit heerlijke huis.

Großartig

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Vermieterin ist super nett und hilfsbereit. Besonders auf der großen Terrasse, die etwas höher gelegen ist, weshalb niemand reingucken kann, haben wir uns oft aufgehalten. Wir kommen wieder!

Uma propriedade bem localizada com todas as condições e com a cozinha muito bem equipada, lençóis e atoalhados para todos os hóspedes e cadeirinha e cama de viagem para bebé. Faltava somente um carrinho para as compras em Olhão, como muitas propriedades já têm, de modo a facilitar as compras. Os anfitriões 5 estrelas e todo o processo de check-in foi simples assim como a comunicação.

Le gîte est très accueillant et bien équipé. La maison située en hauteur est dans un endroit calme avec vue sur la mer d'un côté. La propriétaire est vraiment disponible si nécessaire. Nous conseillons cette maison à tout ceux qui veulent se reposer. Le seul petit inconvénient est le fait que ce soit sur une île sans pont, donc nous sommes tributaires des horaires du ferry lorsqu'on veut partir visiter. Nous avons malgré cela passé un super séjour !

We’ve stayed on Armona a few times but this was our first time in this house. It was a great experience and to have all the mod cons you would find at home was a bonus. The house has 3 equally comfortable bedrooms. There’s plenty of storage in the bedrooms so unpacking your things is really easy. The kitchen is well equipped - probably one of the best I’ve seen in a holiday rental. If you are planning on having most of your meals at home I can’t recommend it enough. Great for our small family with a good oven and plenty of plates. Having Wi-fi in the house was a huge bonus for us as we are both self employed. The weather outside was not great when we arrived but the house has plenty of heaters which warmed us up nicely! Our son loved the big shower - there was always hot water for all of us. Put simply, if you’re going to stay on Armona stay here - it’s a gem.

A home with modern comforts on an enchanting island

We visited Ilha da Armona as day trippers 4 years ago and promised ourselves we'd stay on the island next time. Our holiday was precious to us and we did lots of research to find a home with modern comforts in a great location. We found it! This home has been in Monica's family for generations and is their holiday retreat too. It has been thoughtfully equipped and would be great for couples and families with 3 bedrooms, a large shower in the main bathroom and a great kitchen. Monica has installed air con in the main living room/ kitchen and 2 of the bedrooms, creating a cool and welcoming space after a day on the beach. The windows are new with insect mesh screens - an essential addition which we didn't notice on other properties. We spent a lot of time on the veranda. we drank coffee at 8am in warm sunshine and watched the stars from the loungers at night. It's a peaceful location about a third of the way from the ferry terminal and Atlantic beach. Opposite King Chameleon for those that know the island. It's off the main path so you'll have lots of privacy while enjoying views over the Ria Formosa towards Fuseta. It inspired us to get up early and explore the island before heading to the beach. Your host is wonderful. Monica cares about her home, the island and your neighbours. She wants you to have the best holiday and describes Armona as "paradise". She communicates by email and eventually we swapped numbers so we could meet up and be guided to the property. You'll love meeting her and she'll share lots of useful tips (best restaurants, where to buy bread and essentials etc.) Thank you for a great holiday Monica and we'll see you soon.

Casa muito bem situada, a boa distância da praia, ria, restaurantes e supermercados. A casa tem todo o conforto e privacidade para passar umas boas férias. Os proprietários são excelentes a receber e tudo fizeram para que nada faltasse. Já passo férias nesta casa há uns anos, o que demonstra a minha satisfação, e por isso achei justo fazer este comentário para que outras pessoas possam ficar esclarecidas sobre esta óptima opção. Passámos uma semana fantástica nesta casa, nada a apontar, tem todas as comodidades com bastante privacidade, nada foi deixado ao acaso, até a caixa de primeiros socorros! adorámos o terraço, onde fizemos todas as refeições. Para a nossa Familia é a melhor casa de Armona, está muito bem equipada, tem todas as comodidades e está muito bem localizada.
