We have an Art walk twice a month. It is the first Friday and 3rd Saturday. Tuesday is an open air market with fresh fruits, veggies and seafood. We also have Publix, Winn Dixie and Walmart for any shopping needs. At the end of our street is Gulfport Marina and Clam Bayou. At the marina you may rent a motor boat or Kayak or catch a boat ride to see dolphins or go shelling. At Clam Bayou you may walk around the park or fish. Its very beautiful there.
We have many restaurants in Gulfport. Each unique in its own way. O'Maddys is a personal favorite. Its directly across the street from the pier and beach. Saltys' bar is next door which is also open air. Just down from that is Caddys which has a roof top bar and is also open air. Pia's is a wonderful Italian restaurant and Fortunato’s is across the street for more Italian cuisine. The Peninsula Inn and Back fin Blue are also wonderful dinner spots. Back Fin is famous for their crab cakes . Stellas is our pick for breakfast or brunch. However there is also Tangelos and a few more. We also have a coffee bars and several new brewery’s that have recently opened. Our annual Chefs' table is also a wonderful event with many of our restaurants participating. We are famous for our yearly Gecko Fest and the crowning of our Gecko Queen. Tickets to this event sell out quickly. As you can see we are not shy of good restaurants and there are more that I have not mentioned. All are within walking distance.
As far as holidays go we have an incredible July 4th celebration with fabulous fire works. Saint Patricks day is most definitely a time for celebration here. The streets are closed off and music and dancing is everywhere. The Gulfport Casino has dance lessons nightly and also hosts dances. Christmas has of course a tree lighting ceremony, boat parade, and our decorations are breath taking.
As you can see we have much to do. From site seeing to beach volley ball to our two local theaters and our brightly colored homes and antique shops. For guests staying over ten days we do the cleaning and wash the linens weekly. We hope you enjoy Gulfport and our Lovely Guesthouse as much as we do! The Lovely Guesthouse has been recognized as a SUPERHOST for 5 years in a row by Airbnb with an award to prove it. We know you will love our guesthouse . See you soon!
