Welcome to Olde Stoney; a beautiful waterfront property located on a secluded, quiet lot conveniently located to the best part of Smith Mountain Lake for boating and watersports.

Olde Stoney is a 1.75 acre lot gently sloping to SML, with over 150 feet of shoreline, including a private sandy beach area for swimming. Your rental comes with a canoe, kayak, inflatable tube and an assortment of personal flotation devices.

Week in SML

Family trip, beautiful lakefront property. House comfortably accommodated 9 of us. Kitchen was well equipped to cook and enjoy family meals. Yard was great for the kids to play. Definitely recommend for a family trip on the lake.

Great week at SML

We enjoyed our stay at Olde Stoney. It was a return trip for our family to SML and we specifically were looking for a property without a million stairs to the water! The gentle slope to the dock was easy. This house was very well stocked, but it was a bit of a hunt to find some items. The downstairs area was perfect for the teens to hang out. There was plenty of room for everyone and plenty of linens to accommodate. The teens also enjoyed the firepit at the waters edge, but that part was a little difficult for me to get down to. We had a great week and we didn't need to contact the owner, but checking in and out he was quick to respond.

Rain in paradise

Rain and chilly most of the week but we relaxed and had fun fishing, boating, swimming, and fun with the kids and grandkids. Would recommend to everyone

Wonderful stay, incredible beach!

We loved our stay at Old Stoney! The beach is the best!!! We have small kids and it was so wonderful to be able to play at the beach with them morning, noon, and night. We were always in the water. The beach is also tucked in away from boat traffic - really wonderful!! The house is great too - all the essentials are there and the owner was extremely responsive to questions we had and was so kind to provide restaurant recommendations! Easy, fast, kind communication. The location is awesome too - really close the State Park and a little market. Would def recommend and come back next summer!

Wonderful stay!

My family and I had a great stay at Olde Stoney! The owner Joe was extremely communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. We particularly loved the outside space - the walk down to the dock was short and easy unlike many SML properties and the fire pit right next to the water was a hit.

Olde Stoney sits on an amazing piece of property on SML; over 1.75 acres, with a gentle slope to the water, a sandy beach area for swimming, a floating swim platform (you can tie up a boat to the swim platform, one floating PWC dock, a 3 minute boat ride to Mariners Landing (restaurant and boat rentals) and a five minute boat ride to Mitchells Marina (restaurant and boat rentals). Within a 10-20 minute boat ride, you can reach Smith Mountain and the Dam, Crazy Horse, Mariners Landing, the State Park, and Portside Grill (the best chicken wings on the lake). It takes about 25-30 minutes to get to Bridgewater by boat.

Why they chose this property

The original structure of Olde Stoney was built in the 1970’s with a considerable addition added in the mid-80s. Olde Stoney was completely renovated in 2013; new kitchen (granite counter top and cabinets), modern bathrooms, new carpet, etc. We try to keep Olde Stoney clean and pleasant. The bathrooms are a little on the small side, but newly renovated and clean. The master bedroom is enormous and includes an additional bunk bed (perfect for kids). The house is not fancy (when compared to some of the other magnificent homes on SML), but very clean, comfortable and appealing.
