About this property

Charming 1930's cottage on the lake side of Highway 89 in Sunnyside, Lake Tahoe

This darling cabin is perfectly situated in Sunnyside and is just few minutes walk to the private beach, with lake views from our front lawn. Features include a cozy living room with pass-through access to the kitchen. The living and dining room is adorned with a stone gas fireplace, knotty pine walls, carved beams, beautiful wood floors, and rustic pine railings. The darling kitchen is complete with a 1930's original Wedgewood stove.

The master bedroom, with dormer window knotty pine paneling, features a walk-in closet, and a queen sized bed. The second upstairs bedroom includes two double beds, perfect for 2 adults or 4 children. On the first floor, there is a third bedroom with another queen sized bed, which can sleep 1-2 additional guests. (There is also a "flip-flop mattress" in the upstairs closet to accommodate one additional child/teen on the floor, if needed. We also have a "Pak and Play" for tiny ones). In sum, you can easily sleep 6 adults, and a couple more littles if needed.

Drink your morning coffee on the charming front deck, overlooking the beautiful grassy front lawn, and watch the world go by. The backyard is fully enclosed with picnic table seating, a barbecue and a relaxing hammock under the trees.

Your Tahoe retreat is complete with 4 bicycles and helmets (we are right along the bike path!) as well as two kayaks with double-ended paddles-- Note: use both bikes and/or kayaks at your own risk. Most importantly, cottage rental includes key access to Tahoe Park private beach and recreation facilities, such as: beach volleyball, kids playground, horseshoes, basketball hoop, picnic tables and lakeside barbecues. .

For winter guests we are just a few minutes drive to Homewood, Alpine Meadows and Granlibakken Ski and Sled Hill.

**** Responsible pet owners -and potty trained cats and dogs- are allowed. An extra deposit and fee will apply. ****

Sunnyside is the perfect location for all occasions. Walk to Sunnyside Resort, with its live music and sunset dinners. Dinner at Spoon Restaurant is walking distance and never disappoints! Also walking distance is the awesome Westshore Market and the best breakfasts and lunches at nearby Firesign Café.
There is also nearby boat and Seadoo rentals. Easy bike ride to Tahoe City and Truckee river. Short drive to Emerald Bay. We have a binder at the cabin with even more great recommendations!

Great location I was going to a wedding at sunnyside. Cozy cabin but not super clean.

Cozy place but my one suggestion to make it great is new bedding! It was wonderful having bikes and access to the beach thanks for a great stay

Perfect for our family

We scheduled a trip to Tahoe so our daughter and dogs could see snow for the first time. This cabin was perfect for our family and the hosts were super responsive and helpful! It was a great home base for us in Tahoe. It was so fun to come back after snowshoeing and relax in front of the fireplace.

Cute, cozy cottage with private beach access

This was the perfect little cozy cottage for our stay - with a backyard perfect for our dogs. Its walking distance from private beach access, restaurant and cafe. The hosts provided us with 4 bicycles which we enjoyed on our bike trails around the place. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of more commercialized Tahoe locations.

Such a great neighborhood, walking distance to the lake/park, with all the amenities you could want. We had snow, rain, and sun in our 4-day trip... and it was all great for hiking, kayaking, bike riding, horse shoes, etc.

Perfect Summer Getaway

We had an amazing time at this cozy cabin and were ecstatic with how close we were to the water!! The private beach access was gorgeous! The cabin itself had everything we needed, was very well stocked with all the staples, comfortable, and the backyard was perfect for my kids and the dog to play in. We even had some family over one night and bbq’d and played cornhole. We can’t wait to go back!!

Perfect ski cabin for family and dog

We had a wonderful stay at this Sunnyside ski cabin. The location was incredible with a 2 minute stroll to the beach and 5 min walk to Sunnyside. The owner, Pascha , was so responsive and kind. Would definitely recommend for a small family and was perfect for our dog. Would love to stay there in the summer and would definitely book this property again.

Cozy cottage conveniently located a block from the lake!

Great location (except for the neighbors who partied till 3 am) I would recommend fans for the bedrooms for white noise, as we slept with the windows open and heard everything going on in the neighborhood.

Fantastic, charming Tahoe-cabin

We had a wonderful stay! This cabin has a delightful ambiance, and all of the little things are well-considered--you can tell that this is a cabin that was lived in, and designed to be lived in, as opposed to threw together on a weekend to serve the short-term rental market. Kitchen well-stocked, and location perfect. We spent much of our time inside during our stay due to the pandemic and were very pleased. Highly, highly recommended.

Adorable cozy cottage!

Our little family of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Cabin has all the amenities you need and it's in a great location. We walked down to the beach daily with our puppy where we found many other dogs to play with while the kids played frisbee. Also, there were several restaurants we could walk to which was super convenient. Owners were easy to work with and quick to reply with any needs we had. Highly recommend and plan on visiting again!

Second time and more to come!

This was our second time at the house. It’s perfect for our family of three and is close to everything Tahoe has to offer. We’ll definitely keep coming back as long as the hosts will let us! Also, they are super responsive if you need any help or have questions.

Our family has been going to Tahoe for years. We live in Santa Cruz and love the water, so when this property became available, we jumped at it. We love to hike and ride bikes and play in the lake in winter and ski, snowboard and cross country ski in the winter.

Why they chose this property

Our family has been going to Tahoe together for years and wanted a place of our own to make darling memories. We came across the Sequoia house and the four of us all immediately fell in love. It was the perfect combination of rustic Tahoe and cozy feelings. From the moment we stepped through the door to look at the fireplace and knotty pine wooden walls we were in love with our new home. The west shore is fabulous! Easy to get to from I-80 and flat terrain means that winter travel is easy. We love pets and that's why our place is available to responsible pet owners and their beloved pets!

What makes this property unique

From the large open front yard to watch the bikers and passers-by during the summer, to the beautiful enclosed back yard with a hammock to take a well-deserved little nap, this cozy cottage creates pure relaxation. The charming kitchen with the rustic 1930's Wedgewood oven/stove creates an old-time feel that is unbeatable (and it works great!). The lake is just a stone's throw away. And you can bike everywhere...you'll almost never need your car! We also allow you use of our "toys" kayaks, a paddle board and four bikes! Enjoy, have fun, and use at your own risk.
