About this property

Charming 1930's cottage on the lake side of Highway 89 in Sunnyside, Lake Tahoe

This darling cabin is perfectly situated in Sunnyside and is just few minutes walk to the private beach, with lake views from our front lawn. Features include a cozy living room with pass-through access to the kitchen. The living and dining room is adorned with a stone gas fireplace, knotty pine walls, carved beams, beautiful wood floors, and rustic pine railings. The darling kitchen is complete with a 1930's original Wedgewood stove.

The master bedroom, with dormer window knotty pine paneling, features a walk-in closet, and a queen sized bed. The second upstairs bedroom includes two double beds, perfect for 2 adults or 4 children. On the first floor, there is a third bedroom with another queen sized bed, which can sleep 1-2 additional guests. (There is also a "flip-flop mattress" in the upstairs closet to accommodate one additional child/teen on the floor, if needed. We also have a "Pak and Play" for tiny ones). In sum, you can easily sleep 6 adults, and a couple more littles if needed.

Drink your morning coffee on the charming front deck, overlooking the beautiful grassy front lawn, and watch the world go by. The backyard is fully enclosed with picnic table seating, a barbecue and a relaxing hammock under the trees.

Your Tahoe retreat is complete with 4 bicycles and helmets (we are right along the bike path!) as well as two kayaks with double-ended paddles-- Note: use both bikes and/or kayaks at your own risk. Most importantly, cottage rental includes key access to Tahoe Park private beach and recreation facilities, such as: beach volleyball, kids playground, horseshoes, basketball hoop, picnic tables and lakeside barbecues. .

For winter guests we are just a few minutes drive to Homewood, Alpine Meadows and Granlibakken Ski and Sled Hill.

**** Responsible pet owners -and potty trained cats and dogs- are allowed. An extra deposit and fee will apply. ****

Sunnyside is the perfect location for all occasions. Walk to Sunnyside Resort, with its live music and sunset dinners. Dinner at Spoon Restaurant is walking distance and never disappoints! Also walking distance is the awesome Westshore Market and the best breakfasts and lunches at nearby Firesign Café.
There is also nearby boat and Seadoo rentals. Easy bike ride to Tahoe City and Truckee river. Short drive to Emerald Bay. We have a binder at the cabin with even more great recommendations!

The property was exactly as described in the listing. Very cozy, very comfortable. Had everything we needed and then some. The property manager was quick to respond to questions and very helpful. The location was absolutley dreamy. I short, perfect walk to the cutest general store market for anything you could need, including my morning cappucino. An absolutely perfect stay. Thank you!!

Great location I was going to a wedding at sunnyside. Cozy cabin but not super clean.

Cozy place but my one suggestion to make it great is new bedding! It was wonderful having bikes and access to the beach thanks for a great stay

Perfect for our family

We scheduled a trip to Tahoe so our daughter and dogs could see snow for the first time. This cabin was perfect for our family and the hosts were super responsive and helpful! It was a great home base for us in Tahoe. It was so fun to come back after snowshoeing and relax in front of the fireplace.

Perfect ski cabin for family and dog

We had a wonderful stay at this Sunnyside ski cabin. The location was incredible with a 2 minute stroll to the beach and 5 min walk to Sunnyside. The owner, Pascha , was so responsive and kind. Would definitely recommend for a small family and was perfect for our dog. Would love to stay there in the summer and would definitely book this property again.

Perfect Summer Getaway

We had an amazing time at this cozy cabin and were ecstatic with how close we were to the water!! The private beach access was gorgeous! The cabin itself had everything we needed, was very well stocked with all the staples, comfortable, and the backyard was perfect for my kids and the dog to play in. We even had some family over one night and bbq’d and played cornhole. We can’t wait to go back!!

Cozy Cottage in a Great Location

We absolutely loved our stay at this charming cabin! We visited in the summer and really appreciated that there were kayaks, a stand up paddle board, bikes and access to the Home Owner's Association beach for us to use while we were there! The backyard is so adorable - the string lights and hammock made it feel like a little oasis! The location was fantastic - biking distance to Tahoe City and we were able to walk to West Shore Market for coffee and gelato! The cottage was equipped with everything we needed to make us feel at home. We had a couple of questions while we stayed and Pascha was very responsive and helpful. Thank you so much Pascha and Jay!!

Great little place in a wonderful location

We loved this place! The location is great, close to some excellent restaurants and the private beach is about 1/4 mile down the street. Being able to use the water equipment and bikes was a huge plus! It’s right on a beautiful bike path so you can ride north or south from the house and explore for many many miles which we did almost daily. There were 4 adults in our group so the house was a good size for us, probably would have been a bit too small if our group was any larger. Master bed was very comfortable and showers worked well. We had an issue with a noisy neighbor, and Jay and Pascha were very responsive and kind enough to help us resolve the problem. We stay in Tahoe every year and this place might be our favorite so far! Location and private beach can’t be beat. And it is really nice to have home owners who care about their guests and go above and beyond to make their trip enjoyable. We will definitely be back!

Cozy cabin, awesome location

This is a great cabin! Stayed here with my family of four and our dog for a week in the snow. The cabin has a beautiful vintage feel but with just the right updates (nest heating, Alexa, gas fireplace, beautiful upstairs shower). Plenty of hot water for a long shower after a day on the slopes, plugs in all the right places, everything you need in the kitchen, winter and summer toys in the garage. It’s set up perfectly. Also a short walk to a private beach shared by the association and the upscale West Shore Market. 10 minutes to Homewood for great skiing. One thing a to note is the shared living space is tight because the footprint of the cabin is small, so the living/dining space and kitchen are cozy. But it was perfect for a family of 4 with a dog snuggled by the fire. And heats up quickly in the winter. Overall a great find for us. We will hopefully be back to try it out in the summer!

3rd stay at this darling cottage!

This is our 3rd stay at this cottage. Each time we have had 4 adults and it is cozy. Rooms are on the small size (except for master bedroom), but location, amenities and the host/hostess keep us coming back. We appreciated all the new upgrades the owners have made on the cottage since our last visit, new paint on exterior, new windows and shades throughout, fan in master bedroom, new doors and keyless locks. On our summer visits we are outside most of the day. We love to hang out on the front porch for coffee in the morning, then hang out at the private beach and kayak (provided by host), or ride bikes (provided by host), The backyard is quite large and we enjoy using the BBQ and visiting with family or friends. Cute twinkle lights throughout the yard give a magical feel. Oh, and we can bring our dog too. Location is close to private park, private beach, good restaurants, general store and bike path. We'll be back soon Tahoe! Thank you Jay & Pasha!

Best location and lovely house!

You cannot beat this location. A short walk to get to the private beach without having to cross any main roads. The house was very quaint and well equipped. For a family of 3 with a toddler and dogs, we had plenty of space and really enjoyed taking advantage of the distance to the beach/playground, and bike trails. The owners were so great and quick to respond with any questions we had. Will definitely be back!

Our family has been going to Tahoe for years. We live in Santa Cruz and love the water, so when this property became available, we jumped at it. We love to hike and ride bikes and play in the lake in winter and ski, snowboard and cross country ski in the winter.

Why they chose this property

Our family has been going to Tahoe together for years and wanted a place of our own to make darling memories. We came across the Sequoia house and the four of us all immediately fell in love. It was the perfect combination of rustic Tahoe and cozy feelings. From the moment we stepped through the door to look at the fireplace and knotty pine wooden walls we were in love with our new home. The west shore is fabulous! Easy to get to from I-80 and flat terrain means that winter travel is easy. We love pets and that's why our place is available to responsible pet owners and their beloved pets!

What makes this property unique

From the large open front yard to watch the bikers and passers-by during the summer, to the beautiful enclosed back yard with a hammock to take a well-deserved little nap, this cozy cottage creates pure relaxation. The charming kitchen with the rustic 1930's Wedgewood oven/stove creates an old-time feel that is unbeatable (and it works great!). The lake is just a stone's throw away. And you can bike everywhere...you'll almost never need your car! We also allow you use of our "toys" kayaks, a paddle board and four bikes! Enjoy, have fun, and use at your own risk.
