About this property
Charming 1930's cottage on the lake side of Highway 89 in Sunnyside, Lake Tahoe
This darling cabin is perfectly situated in Sunnyside and is just few minutes walk to the private beach, with lake views from our front lawn. Features include a cozy living room with pass-through access to the kitchen. The living and dining room is adorned with a stone gas fireplace, knotty pine walls, carved beams, beautiful wood floors, and rustic pine railings. The darling kitchen is complete with a 1930's original Wedgewood stove.
The master bedroom, with dormer window knotty pine paneling, features a walk-in closet, and a queen sized bed. The second upstairs bedroom includes two double beds, perfect for 2 adults or 4 children. On the first floor, there is a third bedroom with another queen sized bed, which can sleep 1-2 additional guests. (There is also a "flip-flop mattress" in the upstairs closet to accommodate one additional child/teen on the floor, if needed. We also have a "Pak and Play" for tiny ones). In sum, you can easily sleep 6 adults, and a couple more littles if needed.
Drink your morning coffee on the charming front deck, overlooking the beautiful grassy front lawn, and watch the world go by. The backyard is fully enclosed with picnic table seating, a barbecue and a relaxing hammock under the trees.
Your Tahoe retreat is complete with 4 bicycles and helmets (we are right along the bike path!) as well as two kayaks with double-ended paddles-- Note: use both bikes and/or kayaks at your own risk. Most importantly, cottage rental includes key access to Tahoe Park private beach and recreation facilities, such as: beach volleyball, kids playground, horseshoes, basketball hoop, picnic tables and lakeside barbecues. .
For winter guests we are just a few minutes drive to Homewood, Alpine Meadows and Granlibakken Ski and Sled Hill.
**** Responsible pet owners -and potty trained cats and dogs- are allowed. An extra deposit and fee will apply. ****
Sunnyside is the perfect location for all occasions. Walk to Sunnyside Resort, with its live music and sunset dinners. Dinner at Spoon Restaurant is walking distance and never disappoints! Also walking distance is the awesome Westshore Market and the best breakfasts and lunches at nearby Firesign Café.
There is also nearby boat and Seadoo rentals. Easy bike ride to Tahoe City and Truckee river. Short drive to Emerald Bay. We have a binder at the cabin with even more great recommendations!

About the host
Hosted by Pascha and Jay Pennock

Our family has been going to Tahoe for years. We live in Santa Cruz and love the water, so when this property became available, we jumped at it. We love to hike and ride bikes and play in the lake in winter and ski, snowboard and cross country ski in the winter.
Why they chose this property
Our family has been going to Tahoe together for years and wanted a place of our own to make darling memories. We came across the Sequoia house and the four of us all immediately fell in love. It was the perfect combination of rustic Tahoe and cozy feelings. From the moment we stepped through the door to look at the fireplace and knotty pine wooden walls we were in love with our new home. The west shore is fabulous! Easy to get to from I-80 and flat terrain means that winter travel is easy. We love pets and that's why our place is available to responsible pet owners and their beloved pets!
What makes this property unique
From the large open front yard to watch the bikers and passers-by during the summer, to the beautiful enclosed back yard with a hammock to take a well-deserved little nap, this cozy cottage creates pure relaxation. The charming kitchen with the rustic 1930's Wedgewood oven/stove creates an old-time feel that is unbeatable (and it works great!). The lake is just a stone's throw away. And you can bike everywhere...you'll almost never need your car! We also allow you use of our "toys" kayaks, a paddle board and four bikes! Enjoy, have fun, and use at your own risk.
