About the host
Hosted by Rob
I'm a well known adventure travel and humor writer; my work has appeared in OUTSIDE, ROLLING STONE, COSMOPOLITAN, MEN'S JOURNAL, POWDER, SKIING, BIKE, and TRAVEL & LEISURE.
I'm the author of two books, TELLURIDE STORYZ and OUTSIDE ADVENTURE TRAVEL: MOUNTAIN BIKING.
In 1998 I decided to quit my comfortable, in-house job as a magazine editor and move to Telluride as a freelance writer. I've since been to Antarctica, Nepal, Indonesia, Norway, Russia, Colombia and many beaches in Caribbean.
Why they chose this property
My neighborhood is perfectly located: a short walk away from the Gondola, Chairlift 7, grocery store, restaurants, liquor store, hiking trails, and bus stop. Telluride is considered the prettiest mountain town in America, and visitors can see why immediately!
What makes this property unique
Great hot tub and the unit's big size (1300 square feet) makes it great for families and socializing. It sleeps 8. The French country dining table seats 8. The Great Room features a gas fireplace, comfortable furniture, a pull-out bed, 55" TV, lovely house plants, vintage skis, and European resort posters. You can lend the fireplace area privacy by drawing curtains for those sleeping in the pull-out bed.
The sun-splashed deck has been called the best in Telluride. There, you'll find a ski rack, five-burner grill, Adirondack bench, and dining table with 6 chairs. At night, it's lit by patio string lights.
The kitchen contains a new wine/beverage refrigerator that keeps beers and Pinot Grigio bottles icy cold. It's stainless steel, as are upgraded dishwasher, gas Viking range, and side-by-side refrigerator/freezer with ice-maker and filtered water spout. The kitchen island provides easy food prep and new sink. Kitchen cabinets--with granite countertops--stand above new flooring.
