About the host
Hosted by Aikaterini Klosta
Epirus is the poorest region in the country. Because of this poverty, the residents here are very hospitable. In ancient Greece the worship of Xenius Zeus was very widespread. It was an institution for ancient Greeks to welcome and care for strangers in their home. Hospitality was offered to every passerby, independently of the percons economik and social position. They accepted every stranger and they offered food, bath and sleep. In the end they said farewell and give him gifts. Hospitality was a moral rule. This tradition of my people is preserved even today, especially in the villages. You can find it yourself!!
