About this property

Heron View Room at Carousel Bed and Breakfast

Carousel Bed and Breakfast is decorated in tasteful antiques and reproductions from our onsite store Ruff Acres Antiques. The Heron View Room has a large luxurious bathroom with a two person Jacuzzi garden tub. The room is easily accessible with no steps and parking right outside the door. This room also boasts a stand up shower with just a short step to enter. This room includes a sitting area with a futon that can be pulled out to allow for 4 people to stay. Along with that there is also a little dining area with table and chairs. To enhance the ambiance of the rooms we ve incorporated backlit stained glass windows and each room has a gas fireplace. We also provide WIFI, televisions, microwaves, iron, hair dryer and refrigerators in each room. Available upon request are irons, hair dryers and ice. The room has a fantastic Mid Century modern bedroom suite made by the famous Stickley Brothers Company. The suite includes a King Size four poster bed with a low boy dresser and mirror, tall boy dresser and two nightstands. There is a history that goes with the set, be sure to ask Tim about it at breakfast.
In order to keep our prices low we do not include breakfast in the quoted price. We do however offer breakfast, our breakfasts are full and satisfying and include coffee or tea, fruit, juice, a signature bread, a main carbohydrate (French Toast, Pancakes, Waffles, etc.) and a main course protein (Bacon, ham,, sausage, etc.). It is served on antique porcelains and depression glass juice set. The cost for breakfast is $20 for a single person, $30 for a couple and an additional $10 per person beyond that. Breakfast is a great time for ourselves and our guests to socialize and ask questions about the bedroom set or the area in general.

Perfectly peaceful
We made a trip to Russell to pick up some furniture purchased online. The Carousel B&B was ideally located for our purposes and very peaceful for anyone hoping for a relaxing stay. Timothy sent all the info we needed in a timely fashion and the additional breakfast was beautiful and delicious. If we ever find ourselves back up that way to enjoy the breathtaking PA scenery, we'd be delighted to stay there again.

About the host

Host profile image
I have spent many years in several different jobs, most of which people can relate. After graduating college with a BS in Dairy Husbandry, I worked for 15 years on several dairy farms, some of which dealt with very high end cattle. From there I moved on to running a Nursing Home for another 15 years. After that my wife and I got into the antique business which is still operational, and then added the bed and Breakfast.

Why they chose this property

This property was inherited by my wife and is a very nice property. Although the big draw to the area is outdoors, the area rivers and the Allegheny Forest, there are other things to bring people in to the area. Although our location may be a little out of the way, the property with the orchard and ponds has it's own charm and is a great place to relax.

What makes this property unique

My wife and I always felt that the combination of antiques and bed and breakfast was a great mix. What we see more and more are people coming here looking to go hiking, fishing, bird watching, kayaking and taking advantage of the numerous outdoor activities. Beside the outdoors we have a local theater that does bring in nationally known musicians and in Jamestown N.Y. is the Desi Lucy Museum and teh recently opened National Comedy Center.
