About this property

Comfy year round rental cabin at Lake Osakis Minnesota !

Please note: Beginning in 2024, pets are not allowed by the Idlewilde Association. Please leave pets at home. This is NOT OUR decision.
The cabin is fully cleaned after each visit.
Located in Idlewilde Association on southern bay of Lake Osakis. Cabin #7 overlooking the lake (4 cabins in front, cabin #7 is the right most as you look at the lake.)
Due to changes optimal sleeping is 6 persons.
Newly remodeled and is open year round for fishing, hunting, and ice fishing, snowmobiling!
New windows and sliding glass door overlooking the lake! Central heat / air for your comfort! Free WiFi. Flat screen t.v. More upgrades coming!
150 ft fishing dock (28" walleye, 23" largemouth bass caught off the dock!)
Boat lift available ($100 fee / stay listed as "administration fee)
Open common ground includes fire pit, picnic table, grill.
Pool is permanently closed due to structural damage to building.
Bunkbeds are in! Bedrooms have queen size beds.
New recliners also can be used to sleep in / on.
I've installed an Amazon FireStick. Please do not order any pay per view shows. When using Netflix or other apps, sign on under "Julian" Firestick is voice activated also. Firestick remote fully runs the t.v. and the sound bar. The Samsung remote is if you get off the soundbar and can't get back, or if you bring a DVD player to use.
Password for internet: Located in cabin on the back of the router.

Idlewilde Association has voted to ban pets for guests renting in 2024. This is not our decision.
Everything in the cabin is yours to use, please be respectful so I can keep costs down. Turn AC to 76 when you leave, heat to 60 (in the wintertime)

Perfect cabin on Lake Osakis

Well stocked beautiful cabin right on the water. Close to town, bars, restaurants and the public beach. Great fishing and wonderful hosts.

Cute Fishing Cabin

Having no towels was inconvenient, the grass was knee high and the poison ivy was a concern. Outside of that, cute place and perfect location for a family wedding at Crocked Willow.

Cozy cabin on a great lake

Julian is an excellent host. He provides plenty of paper goods and clean linens. The lake is awesome. My only suggestion is to make more room in the kitchen cabinets for guests to put their food. We will be back :)

Father’s Day

Stayed with our daughter and son-in-law and 3 littles. Park 2 blocks away - fun for the kiddos. Beach about 5 blocks away - unfortunately not maintained. Cabin was great, with amenities. Reminder bring your own towels, shampoo and shower gel. Beds were great. Nice big area for kids to run and with dog on leach. Plenty of wood for fire.

Great cabin for our family

We enjoyed our stay and it was perfect for our family with two small children. The cabin was clean, although we somehow missed the memo regarding towels - bath towels are not provided so be sure to pack and bring your own. The area was peaceful and quiet, we loved the view of the lake, and appreciated having the boat launch to use for our boat. Julian was prompt in replying to us when we had questions about the cabin. There is a swimming beach a few blocks away, however it didn’t seem to be maintained (bathrooms closed, lots of shells and weeds on the beach). We recommend the cabin and would definitely stay here again.

Awesome Stay

We so needed to get away after being stuck inside since March. Our daughter is immune deficient and has a congenital heart defect, so we haven’t been out too much due to COVID. We were lucky to find a few open days at Julian’s place. The cabin is super cute with a great view of the lake. Having A/C and Wi-Fi were both huge pluses since I had to work and it was a hot week! The kids had a great time going fishing with grandpa. As always, the lake was beautiful. The cabin was very clean and cozy; comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, lots of board games to play. It was great that our pup could come since he likes to be included! Julian was super nice and responsive - he answered all my emails and questions really fast. The area was very quiet and peaceful. All in all, a lovely stay and we would for sure come back!

Cabin is as advertised and more. It is convenient to town and public launches. The dock and lift are just outside the cabin for easy access. You can even fish off the docks and catch fish. Hosts are flexible and very responsive. We will definitely stay here again when back in the area.

Winter retreat

Cabin is clean and stocked with everything you may need. Owner is very helpful and goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is enjoyable and trouble free. Osakis is a fun town with lots of places to grab a drink or meal. Fishing is fantastic too.

Third Year in a Row!

We have always liked this little cabin. The lake is great and the fishing is good. Julian is quick to respond and always does what he can to ensure his guests enjoy themselves. The cabin is located within walking distance to most things in town and also the beautiful Wobogon trail. It’s nice there is watercraft available to rent nearby. Coin laundry in town open 24/7; pack your own towels!

We had no problems with anything. The whole experience was easy and uneventful. The property owners were great to work with. We had everything we needed and when you get to enjoy someone else's home, they want you to feel at home. Sure, they made not have what you have at home, but you CAN improvise and sometimes thats even more fun. The view, the amenities, close to downtown, rentals - we want to come back! Thank you!

Webs and bugs

We had to clean the tub before we could use it, there were spider webs and a variety of bugs. The deck was the same way. The outdoor pictures did not represent what we found.

Long weekend at the Lake

Cabin was RIGHT near the water as advertised. Quiet neighborhood with a quaint little public beach a short walk down the road. Loved the fire pit as the weather was a little chillier than we anticipated for mid July (highs in the upper 60s). Thanks for a great stay 🙂

Beach is just a couple blocks away to the east.
