Rustic Mountain Lakefront Cottage

Get away from it all at our rustic mountain lake front cottage on Pine Island Circle. Spacious, wooded and VERY private lot, long circular driveway great for lots of parking and stone path from house to water and a large boat dock. Renovated and updated bathroom. Large boat dock for lounge chairs, tying up three to four boats (with electrical outlet to charge batteries). GREAT fishing spot on Pine Island where many fishing tournaments have been won!
WIFI and Cable TV.
Large wooden deck with built-in seating and 15 foot long picnic table. Adjoining patio has charcoal grill, picnic table and fire pit. We are at the center of a quiet bay which opens into the main channel of Guntersville Lake. Easy access to nearby public launches on either side of property 2 miles away including Waterfront Bay Grocery, Tackle and Launch 2 miles down the street. We are located off Highway 79 between Guntersville and Scottsboro.

We had a wonderful time! This is our third visit. The home is older but is very comfortable. The view of the water is perfect and the deck and patio are great for bird watching. We have observed Eagles nesting each time we have visited as well as many water fowl, backyard birds and owls. The bed was also very comfortable! We look forward to returning soon. The bathroom has some recent damage but the owner is addressing that. Ms. Bishop communicates well and is available if needed. This home is perfect for our needs. We appreciate getting to enjoy the peaceful environment and simple restful privacy this home offers.

For me the shower was just gross. Old shower curtain with unwashed plastic liner unexceptionable. Place was comfortable and clean but home needs lots of work. Lights in living room one light bulb worked out of 5 and the kitchen lights did not work (the manager offered to have son come look at them but we declined and grabbed a lamp from the living room). Great location on the lake.

Great location in the heart of the beat fishing

This was an older property but exceptionally clean, very comfortable, furnishings and beds and right on the water in one of the prime Fishing locations on Lake Guntersville. Property owner was very responsive and kept us informed prior to in during our trip.

Great Stay

Enjoyed our stay very Private and lots of yard to explore with your pet. There is a lot to do within an hour of the Property. Really enjoyed High Falls it was beautiful. Plan to visit again soon.

Great stay for quick Fishing Trip

We had a great time and the Cabin was perfect for us. Right on the lake in a calm cove with a dock to tie the boat up. Sattelite TV and TV's in both bedrooms with good WIFI. Great view of the lake from the Living Room/Dining Room.

Extremely let go

This place has been extremely let go. The yard and woods around the house need cleaned out. The house is a little outdated but not terrible. None of the windows shut correctly. The bathroom was covered in mold. The ceiling was falling out in the bathroom and had major water damage and has caused mold. The walls of the shower were buckled in. Water dripped out of everything so we had bugs all week. The dock had broken boards and looked like the boats in the boat house have sunk.

Peaceful getaway

My first impression was that the place needed a total renovation but once we got settled inside we found a pleasant and cozy home. It could use some updates, but the overall quality of the area and property was well worth the price we paid. Great view and weather which gave us some bald eagle viewings and nice walks.

Short and sweet

Everything's was just as advertised. We enjoyed the rustic cabin and all it's character! It is an older home with some repairs needed but we overlooked that and had a good time. We would recommend and will plan to come back in the future.

Rustic with a view

Stayed a week and the only issue was a little mix up with the door code on arrival. The Owner was quick to handle and all was good. This is an older cottage with lots of charm. The view is wonderful. The fishing was good, had a cold front move through so fish were a little slow but still caught several every day. Sitting out by the firepit at night was so relaxing. Would stay there again for sure. Thank you!

2nd trip

We so enjoyed our second time at this lake front home. The house is older but cozy with plenty of space to spread out. The outside area is spacious and there are wonderful gravity chairs on the deck as well as a fire pit and grill with seating and a swing on the patio. It is a perfect quiet getaway for a couple or a family to enjoy! The host is quick to respond if you have any questions. However, we had no problems at all. We will be returning again for our third visit! Thank you again for sharing your lovely home!

Old but quaint.

The location was great! Home was a little outdated - clean , but a few spider webs in the ceiling corners that could have been removed. Boat dock is really creepy and needs updating, and water is NOT meant for swimming - fishing...yes! We had septic tank problems, but the owner was super quick to reply and get problem resolved!!

Good experience for first time VRBO customer

First experience with VRBO properties. The bedrooms, living room/dining room, sunroom and kitchen were perfect. The backyard reminded me of my grandparents place on the lake when I was in my early teens. Loved seeing the lightning bugs and beautiful scenery from the multiple seating areas. If you are going to stay and fish off the dock go ahead and spray for hornets/wasps after you get there. I did get stung but a can of spray was in the home. Red wasp were still swarming on Saturday coming from the inside of the boat house close to the motion light and power cord. A lot of potential in this cute property with a little updating on bathroom and dock/boathouse.

Really Unique Older Place on the Lake

This place is older than we expected and in need of some TLC. The dock is in disrepair and probably not super safe to hang out on. There's a sunken boat in the boat house and a jetski ready to fall into the lake bolted to the dock. We loved the place though. We watched the heron, a hawk, crazy birds and loved the outdoor space. The neighborhood is wooded and was quiet most of the time. There was one night where a neighbor had a REALLY loud party till almost 2 am and the place next door has a pump or something running 24/7 and it kept us awake with some really loud, strange noises. We thought it was a critter the first night. These are absolutely not the owner's fault though. I would recommend this place to friends.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience staying on Lake Guntersville. The property is old and not kept. The shower head was broke off and when we contacted property owner they said they had just heard from cleaning lady. We didn’t get to the property until 8:30 pm, check in was at 4, so the cleaner had plenty of time to notify the owner and shower be fixed or they could have let us know. Instead when we contacted the owner with the problem the reply was “well at least you can take a bath” needless to say they weren’t concerned with us as long as they got their money. Then the morning of check out, the plumber shows up banging on the door at 7 am. He was told no one was at the property. Seems the owner would have tried to do something to compensate, but I don’t recommend this property to anyone. The shower was the worst problem, but the mattress’s are from 1960 it seems and totally worn out. Terrible place on Lake Guntersville!!!

The view was gorgeous. My daughters had a great time fishing off the dock. The home was older and needs some maintenance and a deep clean, but it was comfortable and worked for us. There was a problem with the coffeemaker the first morning and the owner worked diligently to fix the issue. The kids are already asking when we’re going back.

Older lake house on the Lake Guntersvile

Quiet neighborhood away from the busy cities but not too far of a drive to shopping and restaurants. Driveway is tight turning in with a large boat and cricle drive is tight turning a large boat around. House did sustain some storm damage before we arrived, that we was made aware of beforehand. Once repairs are made it will be a very inexpensive nice place to stay on the lake.
