This cottage was lovely! It was right in the middle of Ireland, so we were able to go on adventures in a different direction every day! Our favourites were Roscrea, Galway, Kilkenny, Birr and Tullamore. The kitchen made it convenient to have meals at home, saving a bit of money and also when we were too tired to go out again after a busy day. Not being from Ireland, there were a few things we needed help figuring out at the cottage, but Chris was super helpful and helped us quickly.
Lovely little cottage in a great location.Plenty to see and do within an hours drive. The Slieve Bloom mountains and the Glenbarrow waterfall were a highlight and a must see.Giltraps pub was a great find as a watering hole as was Peavoys cafe for a coffee. The village animals 2 cats and a dog were both comical and friendly.Highly recommend a stay in Chris’ cottage in the heart of the underrated midlands of Eire.We will be back!
Stayed almost two weeks in this sweet cottage, very comfortable! We were able to clean meals, walk to a pub or two , and to Peavoys every morning for coffee and scones! We will be back!

Christine. So glad you all enjoyed your time in Kinnitty and the cottage. Looking forward to having you back. Chris
We booked this property primarily as we wanted to experience rural Ireland as well as being able to visit places further afield. This cottage’s locality did not disappoint.
Chris, our host was very friendly and checked on us from time to time but was not overbearing.
The cottage itself was quaint and cosy. It had everything we needed although we replaced (and left behind as we couldn’t take home) the bread knife and a sharp paringknife as those provided had been sharpened so much they didn’t cut! Possibly most would not want to prepare meals but we wanted to from time to time. Overall the kitchen was well equipped.
The mattresses were a little uncomfortable but that could have been because there were electric blankets on the beds which had ridges of wires running through them. We didn’t really need them at all but didn’t want to take them off the beds. Having said that, the plentiful Irish country air made us tired so we were able to get sleep.
The local hostelries were very welcoming and the people very friendly. If it’s a no frills holiday base you want, then O’Briens Cottage is ideal.

Thank you Lynn for the comprehensive review. I am delighted you enjoyed the cottage and your stay here in Kinnitty. I called to you a number of times to check if everything was Ok for you and if you needed anything. If you had let me know you needed some more knives or anything else I would have given them to you.
Niedliches kleines Cottage.

Thank you Elise for the lovely review. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay in Kinnitty, the local amenities and the location to the many great tourist sites.
Chris
We absolutely loved Kinnitty. This town is the central location for touring Ireland. Our host Christina was marvelous and we only regret missing her play at the local pub as we were away that night. Her home is totally self sufficient and she was a superb host. We loved getting to know Kinnitty and the area. If you are able to hike and enjoy exploring this is an ideal base. The local folks we met in the pub are now our forever friends. We cannot rate this stay any higher A+++. Thanks Christina and thank you Kinnitty. We will be back!
Exceptional holiday home, a real gem in the hart of Ireland. Beautiful holiday cottage, spotlessly clean with every amenity provided. Decor in keeping with traditional cottage with some beautiful personal touches by the host.
Cottage is located within walking distances of all local amenities from pubs, cafe, church and many tourist attractions. Beautiful walks, great cycling routes and brilliant mountain bike tracks for all levels of ability. Ideal location for family holiday as all will be catered for, and within driving distance of Historic Birr town with a wide variety of tourist attractions.
Our host Chris was a true lady, very welcoming and very informative about locality and all the activities available.
Highly recommend as a place to stay in Kinnitty.
Lovely cottage in the friendly village of Kinnitty
Had a great stay here in this lovely cosy cottage. It had everything we needed and was very comfy. Chris met us on arrival at the agreed time and filled us in on all the things to see and do in the area. We enjoyed our walks in the Slieve Bloom Mountains and some great day trips to nearby attractions. The cottage is in a great location in the very pretty village of Kinnity which is a very welcoming place with some nice places to eat and drink. Thanks again Chris for everything
Cottage was clean and tidy upon arrival. Check in was smooth and communication with Chris was great!
We arrived after Christmas and we were welcomed by Chris and served by a nice cake!
Considering the time of year, cottage was nice and warm apart from a little drafty window in one of the rooms.
WiFi is now available in the cottage and it works pretty well.
Cottage is within walking distance to Kinnity village making it handy to buy your essential groceries from the local shop.
Thanks for your hospitality Chris!
Great stay, Chris was very responsive when needed. The shower had an issue and she offered her place and made a call immediately (shower issue not her fault). Wed. night there is music at the bar, very welcoming and you will not get that everywhere in Ireland. The cottage had everything we needed, this may be an American thing but toilet paper etc you will need to provide which is fine. Internet is at her bed and breakfast next door I did not catch that initially but again not a huge deal as I have a hot spot. Overall a great stay and the cottage was clean, did notice a spot on the quilt in the bedroom off the living room but felt the house was clean so it was not a huge issue. Would recommend her place to anyone traveling to Ireland for the first time, Kinnitty is a great place and centrally located. We were able to get to a lot of our destinations within 2-3 hours easy.
