Welcome to my favorite place on earth.

The property has 2 houses, fully autonomous and independent.
Casas de Santa Rita is a rural retreat located in the wine region, in the heart of Alentejo (the most beautiful non mainstream region of Portugal), in the beautiful historic village of Evoramonte, 150 km from Lisbon, 25 km from Evora and 15 km from Estremoz.

In our homes (fully autonomous and independent) it is possible to disconnect from the busy days and return to feel the tranquility and the nature. We take the comfort of our guests very seriously, and for that reason our accommodation units (rooms and houses) are equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay.

Outside, in addition to the garden, we have a pool overlooking an olive grove and mountains and the world's most starry sky.

Ideal for serious rest, read the books you´ve had not time, hear the birds, take a swim and watch the stars while you drink a bottle of wine and stare to a beautiful sunset. The landscape is a combination of olive and cork trees, and we have a plantation of goji berries.

Nice stay

Miguel, the host, is very accommodating. From making reservations at restaurants to suggesting wineries we would like, he was very responsive and friendly. The pool felt great on a hot summer afternoon.

wonderful farm stay

We had a lovely stay for a few days at Evoramonte just before Christmas. Great location, close to Estremoz, good place to use as a base for exploring Alentejo region.

Peaceful and relaxing setting

We had a lovely stay at Casa St Rita. Miguel was so helpful and the casa and pool area were perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Ultimate Portuguese Farmhouse

Beautiful accommodations in a gorgeous and relaxed setting. Our host, Miguel, is also a 5- star host. He made winery and restaurant recommendations and booked our reservations! We would highly recommend this property!

Remote oasis.

Miguel and Sandra were incredible hosts. They gave was great suggestions on places to visit and eat. Their property is amazing. The veiws and sunsets are second to none. We would not hesitate to recommend it to others or to return for another visit ourselves.

Great experience

We stayed at this country house on a farm for a week and loved the picturesque location, the surrounding fields, the peacefulness and the friendly hosts. The house was very comfortable with good beds and kitchen well equipped. You can take shorts walks on the property and admire the hills, farm animals and olive trees. Miguel was always available to answer questions , provide guidance, tips for places to visit and to respond to any requests.. We would return.

Charming Traditional Casa

We really enjoyed the rural setting. The small house was obviously built in the old tradition. Miguel's hospitality and guidance were much appreciated. And because of the unseasonable October heat, the pool came in very handy.

A beautiful and memorable experience!

We absolutely loved our time here! The house was perfect for us - beautifully traditional and with everything we needed. We visited in late December and found it so peaceful. We loved making fires at night, sleeping late, looking at the millions of stars in the dark sky, feeding the donkeys and enjoying the views over cups of tea and glasses of wine. Miguel was so helpful in suggestions for things to do - we had a delicious dinner in Estramoz at Gardanha. The Alentejo region is beautiful and so full of things to explore - I could not imagine a better home base than Casas St Rita. My teenage boys were sad to leave and we would love to return. Miguel made us feel welcome like family - it was a very special time we will remember forever.

Absolutely Heavenly

A perfect place to relax, cool off and visit the surrounding sights. The House was beautiful in every way. Great style, comfortable and the stars! I have never seen so many. To have a leisurely coffee under the plant trellis, go out and explore the fantastic local medieval castle (no tourists) which can be seen from the house and pool. A comfortable distance to Estremoz and Evora's city sights and grab a lunch before heading back for a dip in the pool and enjoy some wine/port to wait for the emerging stars to appear. Quiet, peaceful, perfect. Thank you Miguel for all of your help and assistance. The honor bar by the pool was a great touch, we got a little low on wine and were able to purchase a bottle from your pool refrigerator instead of driving out to get more. Very thoughtful. Most relaxing part of our entire vacation!

Casa de Santa Rita came highly recommended by a client who recently visited. Despite having booked a hotel in Evora, I quickly canceled after seeing the estate online and hearing her enthusiastic review, reserving for 2 nights. Miguel promptly reached out with numerous restaurant and itinerary suggestions, encouraging us to explore beyond Evora. As first-time visitors to Portugal with our family of 4, including two adult children, we were eager for an authentic experience with ample space to enjoy together. This was also our first time driving abroad, but we had no trouble finding the property and navigating the area. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by a friendly dog, pigs, donkeys, and a horse. Miguel and his wife were incredibly hospitable throughout our stay. We dined at several restaurants in Estremoz based on their recommendations, all of which were excellent. We also enjoyed a wine tour / lunch at Mainova Winery, conveniently located nearby, before relaxing by the pool. Although the owners were busy with farm work, we never felt uncomfortable or intruded on; it truly felt like home. We opted for the breakfast for an extra fee, which was so delightful, allowing us to enjoy right outside our apartment. The surroundings were picturesque and peaceful, and the apartment was beautifully equipped. If you're seeking a slice of paradise, this is it. My only regret is not ending our vacation here instead of starting it, as this was the most relaxing part of our vacation.

Perfect place to escape and relax

We had a marvelous experience at this property. Well stocked (even had ice cube tray) kitchen, extremely comfortable couch, bed and pillows. Excellent pool area for unwinding after a day of exploration. Most of all we appreciated the hospitality of Miguel, our helpful and informative host. His resident donkeys and dogs were a delightful surprise! Highly recommend!

Nous étions 2 adultes et 3 enfants (10 et 7 ans) et la maison était parfaite. Nous avons été particulièrement touchés par l’accueil chaleureux et d’une grande générosité de Miguel, très soucieux du confort de ses invités. Cadre charmant, reposant et bucolique. Les enfants ont adoré nourrir les animaux le matin, faire des balades en bicyclette et profiter de la belle piscine. Nous resterons tous marqués par ce passage et espérons y revenir.

Very charming and quiet place

We spent 2 weeks at Miguel’s place and had a wonderful and stress free time thanks to miguel’s kindness and helpfulness. Évora Monte is a beautiful village and the surrounding is well preserved. The pool area is large and fantastic, just watch for tall people in the main house, state regulations prevented from changing the doors height.

Excellent accommodation in the heart of Alentejo.

Our stay was really great. The reception by the host Miguel was very friendly. The location is excellent for those who want to rest in the calm of Alentejo but it's easy to travel to some of Portugal's main historical sites: Évora; Estremoz; Vila Viçosa; Évoramonte; Arraiolos; Montemor-o-Novo, etc. The accommodations are nice and clean. The pool and the space around it are perfect for the summer.

A great view and quiet place to be!

Casa Santa Rita is a very nice place to spend your holiday! Beautiful surrounding and an amazing view at the castle of Evoramonte! We have spend our holiday here with our 2 girls (2, 6 years old) for the youngest one there was a babybed available! Miguel is also avery nice host and will help you where he can. In the future you can hire a another very nice house at the property. You will share the pool then, but it is big enough! We hope we will come back one day and hire that new place. rustic villa in the Alentejo

We (2 senior couples ) spent 5 nights at this well equipped property near Evoras. Our host was charming and helpful. There were a few minor drawbacks. The toilet in the master suite was abutting the vanity making it a challenge to actually use it but fortunately the third bathroom by the pool was a good alternative. The second bedroom was equipped with a 3/4 bed. Be sure the second couple are on very intimate terms. The third bedroom bunkbeds were suitable for kids. The pool was perfect for us. We could have spent the entire time at poolside. Overall excellent value. It was a good base for exploration of the area.

Que dire mise à part : GENIALISSIME. Nous avons adoré. Pour moi il n'y a rien à redire, tout était parfait, une maison très agréable, bien équipée, une superbe piscine, un coin hamac où nous avons adoré flâner, un barbecue très pratique. La maison est au calme à la campagne, exactement ce que nous recherchions cette année. Et bien sûr, un grand merci à Miguel pour son accueil chaleureux, sa gentillesse, sa disponibilité. un bel environnement

points forts le meilleur atout : la piscine, grande et parfaite pour plonger!! avec une vue imprenable sur le château et sur la montagne. la maison est agréable car assez fraiche grâce à la climatisation de la pièce à vivre, tout est très propre L'espace barbecue est propice à la détente avec les hamacs la région est jolie et tranquille sans trop de touristes Point faibles les petites fourmis affamées qui se jetaient sur la moindre miette les lits version blanche neige (heureusement nous on est pas trop grands mais je pense à quelques amis dont les pieds sortiraient du lit...) les détonations dans les vignes qui nous ont surpris au départ mais bon on s'est habitué. en résumé un superbe endroit parfait pour une semaine de vacances

Superbe !

Magnifique cadre, superbe piscine, accueil chaleureux. Maison confortable et bien équipée mais attention, les lits sont plus adaptés pour des petits modèles. Mon mari d'1m93 à dormi en diagonale ... et l autre lit simple est mieux pour un adulte ou deux petits enfants. Mais le climat et le cadre étaient tellement magiques que nous avons fait avec. Merci Miguel, nous reviendrons !

Calme et reposant

Endroit parfait pour se reposer tout en étant tres près de lieux intéressants à visiter comme Evora par exemple. Lits extrêmement confortables, belle grande piscine et en arrière-plan le bruit des moutons. Que demander de mieux! Simple petit hic, les chaises longues de patio étaient brisées.

An experience in paradise

It was really a wonderful experience of Portugal and Alentejo. From the location we were able to roam free in all the region and easily went to Lisbon. What's even better is that after an long day on the road, there was always the pleasure to go take a swim! Everything was perfect!
