This is an absolutely gorgeous property. The interior is decorated beautifully and is stocked with all of the necessities.. I would say this place is stocked more than any of the other VRBO’s that I’ve stayed in. The water was a bit low, but clear and perfect for swimming. The one thing I would note is that the host was not very accommodating and was quite strict about the house rules. For example, when our babysitter unexpectedly canceled, a couple of our relatives needed to bring their children. Although our total occupancy would still not have exceeded the city’s maximum allowance of 13 people, the host would not permit the children to come and required us to remain at our original guest count. Therefore they were not able to come for the weekend to celebrate with us.There were a couple of other instances where I felt I was being upfront, honest, and respectful by communicating with the host and asking for permission, but there was little flexibility or willingness to consider the circumstances. I understand that these are ultimately her rules and her property, and she has every right to enforce them. However, I do feel that when guests are being transparent and asking in advance rather than trying to hide something or break the rules, it would be reasonable to at least consider the situation and allow for some flexibility when appropriate. Overall, I think this is a great property and definitely want to consider if you’re in the Brainerd Baxter area.
