Great property. We were there just for a weekend bike race in Hastings, but believe it would also be a fantastic summer getaway at the lake. House was clean and well furnished. Owners provided lots of little touches, showing their passion for their property and their guests. Would recommend.

Our summer visit was so nice we came back for Christmas with family! Everyone enjoyed the location, the hot tub, and the cottage. It is hard to find a house that accomodates a group in all rooms. The dining area seated all of us as did the spacious living area.The best surprise...all the water fowl on the lake! So beautiful!

Best getaway cottage

We had a wonderful time with all of our Family enjoying the beauty of Lake Jordan at the cottage. Everything was perfect. The cottage was clean, stocked with everything we needed and was a the perfect getaway for our Family. The location makes it fun and kid friendly. This was our very first family vacation ever and I wanted it to be one of the most memorable ones. Jason’s paradise cottage and the beautiful city of Lake Odessa with its wonderful people made sure that dream came true!!! If a cottage with LITERALLY every detail covered is what you are looking for this is the one. Only three cottages away from beach, huge sports bar & grill behind it with bowling alley and quaint town with all the offerings within walking distance. We WILL BE BACK!!!!

Perfect WFH Covid getaway

We enjoyed the most relaxing weekend! Everything was incredibly clean, wonderful view, and good WiFi to take some zoom calls. Jason laid out the most thoughtfully detailed guidebook, including reviews of each restaurant in the area. The hot tub was perfect and the kitchen is well equipped with gadgets to make your own meals! Would definitely stay again.

Sweet cottage

As soon as you walk into this sweet cottage and see the lake view and spacious deck, you start to relax and know that you will have a great time on Jordan Lake. We enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit and paddle boat. The upstairs bedroom was perfect for a sleepover with cousins. We will definitely be back when in the area visiting family!

We were surprised with how nice the property was. The deck is the perfect place to relax and catch up with family. The hot tub is an added bonus. Weekend getaway

Overall, very enjoyable. Lots of amenities and things to do. Only criticism was yard was fairly overgrown, lots of cobwebs on dock. Neighbors were very close. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, and sitting on the deck.

Hi Candy! We are glad to hear that you were able to enjoy yourselves so much despite the terrible weather! That unexpected stretch of cold and rain would sour nearly anyone. The Beach Cottage is in a fantastic location, being right in the heart of town, so close to everything. There are close neighbors (really awesome ones). Prior to each stay, we remove spiderwebs by hand, but more are spun of course! The lawn is mowed often, and the foliage around the edges is regularly trimmed. But, yes, true to cottage style, the borders and beds are more free form and not pristinely manicured. We will continue to work hard to improve the Beach Cottage experience in preparation for your next stay; see you then!

Beautiful view, lovely little cottage!

This property was wonderful! The owner went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed- he even let us use his pontoon boat from free for a day which was beyond generous. Cottage was very clean, super close to the beach ( two houses down) and a fun restaurant with outdoor seating almost across the street. A lovely park and the downtown are within walking distance as well. Lake was beautiful and our kids loved swimming off the dock and at the beach.

Beautiful Cottage on thr lake

Your hosts Jason and Carmen are the proud parents of Winnie, a fun loving 8 year old that enjoys exploring all that Lake Odessa has to offer. We used to live on Tupper Lake (30 years ago) nearby, but now live right in town Lake Odessa, to better take advantage of the great location and activities. We take great pride in offering a fantastic lakefront getaway during all times of the year, and love being able to do that just down the street from our family home. This allows us to take excellent care of the Beach Cottage and the guests, and do so more conveniently.
We enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities, and having lived in Colorado for 2 decades, we especially love all the lake activities available here. From boating to lakeside campfires and hot tubs, to the beach and bicycling, there is just so much to do!
When not hosting or maintaining the Beach Cottage, Jason runs Lake Odessa Handyman, a local service company that does, well, handyman work. Jason replaced the entire Cottage roof with the current metal roof, and has done many of the other upgrades you see in the Cottage, including exposing and then polishing the concrete floor in the kitchen on his hands and knees.

Why they chose this property

I had always loved that week in Lake Odessa as a child. That time during the summer that we would look forward to for months. We would plan for weeks, and pack for days. It was less than a half an hour drive to Lake O, but it felt like another world to me there. Time slowed down, and everyone seemed to be all about summer fun. My special request every year was to be there when the fair was in town. We could ride our bikes from The Cottage to the fairgrounds, and stop by the gas station on the way for candy and soda.
A trip to the ice cream shop, a quick stop downtown at the dime store, and swimming in the lake were all fun, but the fishing... the fishing was the best part!
And then the evening campfire with stories about the day, plans for the next, and flaming marshmallows on sticks. The smell of bug spray and suntan lotion, and then the kids up to the loft and the parents downstairs to sleep with the windows open and the sound of the crickets, while seeing flashing lightning bugs out the window as you drifted off to sleep.
And Lake Odessa today is pretty much the same experience. Only what I didn't know as a child, is that spring, winter, and fall offer awesome fun as well! Whether it be pickleball, bicycling, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, hiking, or skiing, there are numerous options for enjoying the outdoors year round. And when venturing out is just not your thing, taking a dip in the lakeside hot tub, or stepping next door for a dinner and perhaps bowling offer entertainment without going too far.

What makes this property unique

Originally built in 1948, this property used to be part of a church campground, and was a small cabin at the time. It was traded to the previous owner's family in exchange for paying off a debt for the church. That family owned it and added on to it for the next 70 years or so, until we purchased it from them in 2018. We have been consistently upgrading the property ever since.
