South Pasadena Gem

Excellent choice for a short stay in Pasadena. Close to METRO light rail Gold line. Close to restaurants, shopping, bars, etc. Unit has everything including a small deck to enjoy So Cal sunsets.

Extended family.

Staying with the Phongs felt like staying with extended family. We felt safe and welcomed. Julia went out of her way to accommodate my family. We will be returning in a few months for pilot season, we're looking forward to seeing the Phongs family again!

Location Location Location

Julia has a beautiful home in a picturesque, family-friendly part of Pasadena. It is even better in person. We were pleasantly surprised to find a gorgeous park just across the street from the house for our daughter to enjoy. Julia was kind enough to lend us a high-chair, pack & play, and toys for our daughter to use during our stay. It made things so much easier for us and was a huge help. In general, Julia is very thoughtful and pays attention to detail. There were cans of La Croix and bottled waters in the fridge, a new loofah and other toiletries in the bathroom. The home is a 10 minute drive from popular Colorado Blvd shops, 40 minutes from Disneyland and 35 minutes from Santa Monica without traffic. It was the perfect location for our vacation in Southern California. If you're like me, I was particularly concerned about parking. I think Julia errs on the safe side when describing the size of her garage but we rented a mid-size SUV (Hyundai Santa Fe) and it was not a tight fit at all. We had no issues. As mentioned in the listing, there are stairs and there isn't a TV. Not a deal-breaker but important to mention. The sliding door is also a bit difficult to open and close and requires some strength. The stovetop is virtually unusable. We planned on cooking a few meals in to save some money but weren't able to do so. We tried cooking an egg and an hour and a half later it still hadn't cooked. I still rate Julia's rental as 5 stars. The location and value cannot be beat!

Small Respite Lands a Big Punch!

This hidden jewel was more than advertised. Modern with upbeat decor, organized, comfortable and cozy, in a gracious and friendly neighborhood, walkable to Mission Street town area. There are no negatives here. Thank you to Julia and family!!
