L'Albane great as usual
We stayed in apartment 407 at L’Albane from the 17th – 24th March, 2018. I booked the apartment through Abritel but the confirmation came from a company called Le ski du nord au sud and then when we got to the resort, it appeared to be managed by Maeva – which is part of Pierre et Vacances. So the reservation was a bit confusing. I also emailed le ski du nord au sud with a few questions before our stay and did not get a reply. However, everything was in place when we arrived and our apartment, ski passes and equipment rental were all ready and correct. The apartment was very nice. We have stayed in these 3 bedroom apartments many times before and they are always good. 407 was especially nice as it is clearly privately owned (more confusion as to who we were actually dealing with!) and had a lot of homely touches throughout. I would have preferred a second heater in the living room and a bit more light in the bathrooms but other than that it was excellent and we had a great holiday. The armchairs in the living room were especially comfortable and the beds were all comfortable too. We did have to pay extra for towels (which is a Maeva condition, they are included with P&V) but it was listed on the booking form so it was me that missed the condition that towels were extra. Anyway the apartment had great heated towel rails so even with limited towels, they were all dry. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We really like L’Albane – ski in and out and a good sized locker in the basement to keep everything in place. L’albane also has a heated swimming pool but we did not use it. Location is great, near the highest point of the village with a small shopping centre a couple of minutes walk away. Vars is certainly our favourite ski resort.
