Lake Ontario Waterfront - Niagara Falls Area

Located on the southern shore of Lake Ontario in Western New York, our house is a nature-lover's paradise. Our cozy lakefront getaway features rustic barn wood walls, brick flooring, pine cabinets, and large windows to catch the breezes, and although it looks rustic, it has all the modern conveniences. View the sun rising and setting over the lake; catch a glimpse of the deer running along the tree line; fish from the lake shore; walk through the fields. Relax and de-stress in the quiet country air. Gaze at millions of stars at night.

We are a beautiful lakefront and riverfront drive away from Niagara Falls, Buffalo and Rochester. Located on the Niagara Wine Trail and down the road from Donovan Estate Orchards ( formerly Blackbird Cider), minutes to Olcott's Eighteen Mile Creek and Point Breeze's Oak Orchard Creek fishing areas, our house is a great spot to relax after a day of touring the sites.

AWESOME PROPERTY AND VIEWS

This property and views were just awesome. Super clean, with all of the needs easily met. The kitchen is fully stocked with whatever you might need to pull off a wonderful family meal. Plenty of seating for all of the guests, FANTASTIC views that take your breath away, and Sue is just a really fantastic host!! I will definitely stay here again then enxt time we come home to visit family!!

Lake Ontario in Barker New York

My whole family loved our stay at Susan's Lake House in Barker New York The accommodations were clean and well cared for and the location can't be beat. Thank you Susan!

Gorgeous views!!

This property has gorgeous views of Lake Ontario!! Check in was smooth and property owner is super sweet!! The cabin had everything we needed to prepare meals and relax! Enjoyed using the canoe and kayaks that were available .. would highly recommend to family and friends

Girls getaway

This was our second time at Susan's property! It's comfortable and spacious enough for a group! Lots of wineries and good food in the area, very quiet and peaceful setting! Susan is very responsive and a great hostess!

Great location on Lake Ontario

Our family of five recently rented this charming cottage on the shores of Lake Ontario for a family reunion. We were very pleased with the amount of indoor and outdoor space, the quaint interior and the beauty and quiet of our surroundings. Tom and Susan were gracious hosts, very responsive when we had a question or request. They made us feel at home and we would definitely stay here again!

heavenly lake house

This is the most beautiful, solidly built classic wood lake house. The layout of the bedrooms is perfect for several families, friends, or extended family. We spent a heavenly week here with close friends, and Tom and Susan were so kind and welcoming. We would love to come back to this beautiful house!

Beautiful location and awesome hosts

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lakefront cottage. Susan and Tom are the best hosts - very gracious and accommodating. Beau was a welcome visitor always. The sunsets were awesome. Listening to the gentle waves just steps away from the Lakehouse is as relaxing as it gets. We hope to come back next time.

Wonderful lake house!

Very comfortable space ….great for large family or two families vacationing together as there are 3 bedrooms upstairs with bathroom kitchen and dining…1st floor has main living area with kitchen dining , living room with patio doors to the deck and lake…then has a private sitting area off of that with 2 more bedrooms, bathroom and laundry The kayaks , rowboat and fishing poles were awesome to have at our disposal The views and sunsets were spectacular!…..great family vacation

Gorgeous setting!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. My husband and I visited with our 3.5 and 6 year old along with my brother, sister-in-law and their 7 and 9 year old. The house had plenty of space for all of us to be comfortable. The kids had an incredible time exploring the expansive property, having a bonfire and swimming in the lake. Susan is so lovely and a really fantastic host. She was super responsive with any questions we had. We hope to come back!

Paradise on Ontario

We rented Tom and Sue's place to be close to the site where our son was to be married. The house and grounds lived up to the pictures and descriptions, and more! First, the view is amazing, and it was so relaxing to fall asleep to the sounds of Lake Ontario lapping on the shore at night. With help and advice from Tom, we staged the rehearsal dinner at this house. It was a great success, and everyone was impressed with the beauty of the setting. Our family came and went it waves, and we always had a bed to put them in. Thanks, Tom and Sue. You couldn't have been more accommodating, and we will always remember what a fabulous time we had in your lovely home.

Peace and tranquility

What kind and friendly hosts. The view and property location are breathtaking. The home is a rustic, cozy retreat. It was very accommodating for our multigenerational family vacation. We enjoyed the sunsets on the deck, relaxing in the breeze, swimming in the lake, fishing, kayaking, and exploring for rocks. The lake is transformational from day to day. It is still one day and lively the next. We enjoyed the crashing waves after a storm. We took some beautiful photos. We walked the shoreline and explored the trails. The owners dogs were the highlight of our vacation. They are like animated joy. So friendly and happy. I called to Beau one afternoon from the lake and the next thing I knew he had jumped in and to swam to greet me. This was the best and most memorable moment of our vacation. Lovely vacation.

Perfect place for family trip

We arrived at the house after a long drive from Wisconsin only to be greeted warmly by the lovely Tom and Sue and of course Beau the Golden Retriever....our real host. Both the location and house were perfect for our family trip. The house was warm and comfortable and provided for our every need while we were there. Beau would stop in several times a day to make sure we were happy. We saw beautiful sunsets and enjoyed viewing the skyline of Toronto across the lake. Although it was a bit chilly to take advantage, Tom and Sue provided a canoe and kayaks should we have been able to get out in the water. We did cook out over a fire one night as a firepit was provided. The location was a perfect distance to family members who live near Hamlin and Niagara Falls. In between we had a tour of the Erie Canal, visited wineries and enjoyed some of the charming and authentic beach towns in the area. If we come back to the area we would stay with Tom, Sue and Beau again and it would feel like home.

The location and view of the lake was fantastic! My siblings, niece, grandnephew, and I enjoyed a 3-night late summer get-away. We spent one day in Niagara Falls and one just hanging out enjoying the lake on a beautiful day. Sitting by the fire pit and seeing a few meteors was a highlight of our stay. The house was rustic in decor but had everything we needed and was clean. (Everyone remarked about how great the showers were!) Overall it was a wonderful place and a wonderful time!

This is a beautiful cottage on Lake Ontario. It is a great hub for day itineraries in the region, or, just relaxing and playing on the lake. The house has all the accessories needed for a comfortable stay and vacation. The host was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. This was our second stay at this house. Already planning to come back again next summer.

Charming and peaceful getsway

The property was just as described, spacious and had all of the amenities we needed, and even had kayaks for the water. Susan was so wonderful and very responsive to our messages when the Internet went out and even came to check on us as we were packing up to leave. The owner was great with allowing our dogs, and the yard provided a great space for them to run around. Would highly recommend and we hope to rent again next year! Great place for families, and loved the puzzle in the sign in book!

Always Wonderful

Great family rental

My family (5 adults and 2 young kids) rented this house for the weekend as we had a family wedding near by. The house was exactly what we needed. Plenty of space, large kitchen, kids toys and beautiful views. Wish we would have stayed longer. Would definitely book again

Lakefront house

This was a very pleasant and comfortable place for 8 adults to stay. The location on the lakefront is the biggest attraction, which can be seen from several rooms, but is best enjoyed from the back porch when the weather is good. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed some gorgeous sunsets. The host was incredibly responsive. Shortly after our arrival, we discovered that the microwave oven wasn't working. Within a few hours of informing the host, she replaced it with a new one. She was friendly and available, but not intrusive. She lives next door to the property, and stopped by to say "Hi" after we arrived. Otherwise, we didn't see her during our stay, except when we needed to. The one thing that might have improved our experience was to have had more photos in the listing, particularly of the interior of the house. We were a bit surprised by some of the accommodations we found, especially that one of the twin beds we expected to find was actually a trundle bed. It worked out OK for our group, but could have been a problem. Overall, we had a very positive experience, and would gladly stay here again if we were to come back to the area.

Family Reunion Trip To Niagara Falls and Area

Beautiful property, loved the rustic feel and being right on Lake Ontario. Was cool to identify the "lakers" passing by in the distance. We used it as a base for several excursions into Canada and was a great home-away-from home after some very busy days.
