This multi-million dollar custom home is available for the first time on the rental market, having been privately owned and maintained in immaculate condition since it was built in 2008.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Main level: Master with king bed and full bath with soaking tub and steam shower, stone fireplace, built-in cabinetry, walk-in closet; Guest bedroom with towering 20 foot ceilings and large windows, antique desk, small television, full bath, and closet
Upper level: The loft has two rooms, each with its own full bath. Both rooms feature towering 20 foot ceilings and private decks.

Over Garage: The game room/bunk room suite is over the garage and features one queen bed and one queen size pull-out sofa bed. The game room has its own full bath and closet, 12 foot movie screen, wet bar, pool table, dart board, and numerous board and card games.

Magnificently perched atop a knoll overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains and Pisgah National Forest, the lodge was built using the highest grade natural materials, featuring a rustic bark shingle exterior in the Appalachian architectural tradition that originated in the Linville area well over a hundred years ago. The house is surrounded by natural forest and beautiful landscaping, with abundant wildlife all around, including wild turkey, grouse, deer, and bear. Inside, Elk Camp Lodge sets the standard for luxury mountain living, with elegant architectural details, cathedral ceilings, nine foot doors throughout, lavish furnishings, beautiful decorations, luxurious linens, television, and a floor plan designed for maximum convenience and comfort…every bedroom has its own full bath and with the exception of the loft bedrooms and game room, the lodge features one-level living. The house comfortably sleeps up to twelve people, offering 5 total bedrooms with one king bed, three queen beds, two twin beds, and one queen size pull-out sofa bed. Behind the house, the wrap-around deck, complete with deck furnishings, gas grill, and fire pit, allows guests to enjoy the fresh mountain air and the splendor of the breathtaking westward sunset views. In addition, the lodge features a full backup power generator, which will automatically kick in in the event of a power outage, to ensure guests can reside in comfort and safety regardless of weather conditions.

From the moment you walk through the front door, Elk Camp Lodge provides an ambiance of picturesque rustic elegance, warmth, and peaceful mountain tranquility. Upon entering the house, you will first come into the great room, framed by large windows overlooking the front and back mountain views, a towering stone fireplace, and two lofty elk mounts that overlook the living area. The room features beautiful artwork, exquisitely decorated built-in cabinetry and shelving, and warm accent lighting, as well as a large flat screen television, built-in surround sound stereo system, and comfortable leather seating. Just behind the great room is the open concept kitchen and dining room. The kitchen is a cook's dream, featuring gas range, high end stainless steel appliances, rough beveled granite countertops, 4-seat breakfast bar, full walk-in pantry, custom cabinets, and comes fully stocked with Williams Sonoma platewear, and high quality glassware, silverware, and cookware. The dining room features a beautiful rustic cherry table and elegantly decorated antique hutch, with large windows overlooking the backyard mountain views. Also on the main level are the master suite and guest bedroom. The large master suite features a king bed, stone fireplace with sitting area, walk-in closet, flat screen television, and an ultra luxurious, spa-like master bath complete with multi-jet custom shower, soaking tub, dual vanities, and custom travertine tile work throughout. In addition to the master bedroom and guest bedroom on the main floor, there are two beautifully appointed bedrooms in the loft above the great room. Since every bedroom in the house has its own full bath, guests will never need to share a bathroom.

Attached to the house via breezeway is a convenient two car garage, which allows guests to drive in and enter the house without setting a foot outside. The breezeway enters into a large mudroom with top of the line laundry facilities, conveniently allowing children and guests to take off any dirty boots or clothing after a long day of outdoor adventures. Above the garage is a game room and bunk room suite. This room is the perfect gathering spot to bring your family and friends together. It features rustic wormy chestnut accents, a 12 foot television/movie screen with HD projection, custom wet bar and wine rack, pool table, dart board, hand-made birch bark decorative hanging canoe light, and built-in cabinetry, as well as a queen bed, pull-out queen sofa bed, and full bath.

The outstanding amenities do not end indoors. You'll love all the wonderful outdoor living options Elk Camp Lodge offers! On the large covered deck, you'll find ample seating dining and seating options with a propane grill that is all set to cook your favorite meals. A stunning custom pavilion is located just steps away from the deck and enhances the outdoors further with two gas fireplaces, a large screen outdoor tv, a built in hot tub and seating for 12. It's the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring the high country. For a more grounded experience, Elk Camp lodge also offers an open air fire pit that is perfect for roasting smores as you enjoy the mountain stars. A new field is just behind the home and provides a perfect area for all outside games. Finally, there's even a custom-made set of cornhole boards ready to be enjoyed!

Elk Camp Lodge is less than one mile west of the Blue Ridge Parkway as the crow flies, and is conveniently located within a few minutes drive to the nearby towns of Linville, Banner Elk, Boone, and Blowing Rock, as well as the ski areas at Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain. It is 4 miles away from Grandfather Mountain and just 15 minutes away from Linville Falls, a spectacular three-tiered waterfall plunging into Linville Gorge, the “Grand Canyon of the Southern Appalachians”, which is known as the most popular waterfall in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Outdoor daytime activities abound in the area, including guided or unguided fly fishing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, trips to nearby Grandfather Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway, as well as white water rafting excursions for the more adventuresome. In addition, Elk Camp Lodge guests have access to all the amenities at the Linville Land Harbor Lake and Country Club, located just minutes away from the front door of Elk Camp Lodge, which offers canoeing and fishing on the beautiful 45-acre Land Harbor Lake, 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, swimming pool, pickleball, shuffleboard, and dog park. Reach out for scheduling and fee details. For those looking for the ultimate indulgence, Elk Camp Lodge is just 2 miles away from The Spa at Eseeola Lodge, which provides all day spa and salon services, including full body massage, facials, manicures/pedicures, body wraps, and more. If your party includes elderly guests or those requiring medical assistance, Cannon Memorial Hospital is only 3 miles away. Unlike many homes in the mountains, Elk Camp Lodge has relatively level, paved access all the way to the front door, proving much less challenging in the winter.

Elk Camp Lodge is also conveniently located for winter sports, approximately 15 minutes (7.7 miles) to the entrance to Sugar Mountain Resort, and 30 minutes (17 miles) to Beech Mountain Resort, both of which offer some of the best skiing on the East Coast. Or enjoy a day of snow tubing at nearby Hawksnest, the largest snow tubing resort on the East Coast (approximately a 20 minute drive, 13 miles away)- or take a ride on the Hawksnest zip line, which is open all year, weather permitting.

We welcome your family and friends to come and enjoy all that the lodge has to offer and hope that you have a wonderful vacation. Welcome to the High Country, welcome to Elk Camp Lodge!

Perfect Mountain Lodge

Elk Camp Lodge was perfect for our group ski vacation. The drive to Sugar Mountain was only 18 mins and the gated community it's in is absolutely fabulous. The house gives real meaning to "the house on the hill" and has wonderful views all around. The master suite was massive. We were slightly disappointed to find that the fireplace in it barely worked and gave off strong gas smells so we kept it off. They also sent an email just prior to the trip informing us that the outdoor fireplace by the hot tub was broken - so 2 out of 3 fireplaces weren't working which was unfortunate. The shower had 8 shower heads which was amazing along with a jacuzzi tub. Every bedroom had a full bathroom attached and there was plenty of space for everyone. Paper products were slightly lacking - they addressed this in the welcome book in the living room but we didn't plan for that and had to purchase more paper towels and toilet paper after arriving for the 5-day stay. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking and dining supplies besides there being no aluminum foil/plastic wrap/food storage containers. The house has soo many doors and windows which was really nice for natural light. The breezeway between the garage and main home was very convenient and the game room pictures do not do it justice. Overall a 9/10 and would definitely book here again especially giving that our fur babies were allowed to join.

Fantastic mountain retreat from the heat!

We had a fantastic time at Elk Camp Lodge! This property is the cleanest and best-provisioned property we have stayed in. The community was beautiful and quiet. Lots of wildlife to see, including deer, rabbits, beavers, & hummingbirds. The landscaping and flowers were beautiful. We enjoyed sitting outside and taking in the cool mountain air. The kitchen was well appointed and served our family well, cooking and grilling out each night. The master bedroom was very spacious and comfortable, as were the guest rooms. The game room had a lot (understatement) to offer, and we enjoyed playing all of the games. The outdoor space, fireplace, fire pit, and hot tub were fantastic. Our kids had a blast playing Ping Pong, cornhole, and Jenga. The property was well located so we could visit Banner Elk, Linville Caverns, Grandfather Mountain, and many other options. Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals is excellent to work with, as we have stayed in their properties before. They are very responsive, communicative, and accommodating, and we highly recommend them. The arrival gift was a nice treat! We would absolutely stay here again. We had a couple of small challenges that we recognize happen occasionally and were able to take care of most of them ourselves. It didn't take away from our perception of the property or the management group. • The cleaning crew ran 30 min over from our check-in time and left the dishwasher for us to unload. • Someone might want to check the GFI in the bar/laundry – it was tripped on arrival and continued to flash a red LED after reset but was operational. • The pilot light on one of the outdoor fireplaces was out and had to be re-lit. • There is a small roof leak in the room center of the back porch off the kitchen. • The bathroom fan in the bedroom across from the master didn't work. Again, none of these issues were big enough to complain about and didn't take away from our stay, but we thought the owner and management would want to know. We hope to return soon! Thanks for a fantastic stay!

Jan 2021 Stay

Great property overall with nice decor, space and game room activities. Overall we were happy with our stay, but it wasn't a "top premium, 5 star" property experience and may have been somewhat overpriced due to following concerns: - HVAC issues: master bedroom was very cold yet bedroom across the hall was very hot. This disrupted sleep. - Living room back door (left side) to patio would not lock. Tied rope around handles to feel secure while sleeping. All other doors locked fine and had similar locking handle mechanisms. Not a big deal but seemed silly given this was ~ $1M property. - Outdoor fireplaces need servicing. Produced very yellow and orange flames which indicates soot buildup and low temp production. Blue flame is ideal. (I own a propane company that sells hearth products) The outdoor fireplaces were useless during our winter trip as they did not produce any effective heat, even when standing close. - Overall place was clean but did find some old chips on rug and hair tie in shower. Again, overall we left happy and enjoyed our stay. Just not sure we will return to this particular property as we have paid similar pricing for better overall experience. I always leave candid responses particularly for premium properties. I too have rentals and appreciate the honest feedback. Thanks. Rodney Ormond

Lovely and private

A wonderful long weekend in a beautiful house. We felt at home. We did a lot of cooking as we usually do and found the kitchen a wonderful working space. We loved the outdoor space with lots of views.
