SEVEN PINES HOLIDAY HOUSE FOR HIDEAWAY

Our cottage lies in the heart of the little and charming Sukoró on the north side of lake Velence that is about a one hour trip by train or car from Budapest. The 130 years old farmhouse is a rare spectacle for those who love traditional folk architecture but still demand today’s comfort. In the house and the belonging spacious garden stillness is guaranteed: it’s not bordered by any streets, only the neighbouring gardens and a watercourse are around.

The one entering the house is immediately touched by It’s unique atmosphere. The stout walls are encapsulating more than a century old tradition and history. The house has been built in the late 1800s for the judge of the village. Entering the front-door we arrive to the anteroom. Moving further into the middle of the house we reach one of it’s specialties - the kitchen. The kitchen was originally working with a free chimney – meaning the smoke leaving to the air directly through a tunnel starting from the ceiling.

We have renovated the house partly with our own hands with great care to preserve it’s original character yet bringing the 21st century to the house in terms of comfort and technology.

The meter thick walls are keeping the temperature well, air cooling is not needed even on the hottest summer. When it gets chilly on the outside the electric heating is taking care of warming up the house quickly. There are two parking slots in the yard. We welcome pets as well with the hygiene well kept.

There is a horse ranch in 300 meters from the house that offers several trail rides to the surrounding countryside and you can also go for an easy ride at the ranch. Moving out of the stillness of the house and the village Lake Velence and the surroundings offer a wide variety of programs.

Wonderful holidays!

We enjoyed our holidays in Sukuró (Hungary) in this wonderful and carefully restored thatched house. The house featured everything we needed and was very clean and cozy. You can also use the garden for playing badminton or for a BBQ. Cooking is possible in the small kitchen, which also contains a large fridge and freezer. The bedroom is equipped with air-conditioning, but even though the second week was very hot, we only used the A/C now and again because the old house is cool in the summer even without the A/C. Our host Andras made sure that everything we needed was available. The house is a quiet spot in the village of Sukoró and ideally located for swimming (just 10 minutes by car to the beach of Lake Velence) or visiting Budapest (less than one hour by car or by train from Velence). So all in all, we would highly recommend this house and our host if you want to spend relaxing and eventful holidays in Hungary!

Séjour sukoro

Maison très bien situé pour les visites, si ça roule bien a une demi-heure de Budapest. La maison : au calme, très propre , lits fait à l'arrivée, machine a laver avec lessive, produit d'entretien, sel poivre et plus encore. Il y a vraiment tout ce qu'il faut. Les propriétaires nous avez déposez une coupelle de fruits bien garnie. Juste de petites suggestions, nous aurions aimé que la douchette de la douche soit fixée au mur avec de longs cheveux pas évident avec une main. Un éclairage extérieur permanent du côté terrasse car là il y a qu'un halogène impossible de passer une soirée dehors. Sur l'annonce il était écrit qu'il y avait des vélos déçu de ne pas en trouver. Le lac Balaton ce trouve a une heure en voiture ça vaut le détour. Si vous allez à Budapest garez vous au parking de la gare des bus (payant le parking mais pas cher 1 euro de l'heure) et la vous avez le métro. Un conseil visitez tout les monuments en métro nous avions pris des passes à la journée et c'est très simple de se repérer. A ne surtout pas rater ! Les thermes le métro y passe . Nous avons passés de super vacances, dans un beau pays, une magnifique capitale, ça donne envie d'y retourner.
