Gather the friends and/or family for a getaway reunion in an 1878 Victorian Farmhouse updated with all the modern amenities on 6 pastoral acres. Whispering Pines Bed and Breakfast has the perfect blend of numerous, comfortable gathering spaces indoors and out yet still having plenty of private spaces to be on your own. Sleeps 16 with two pet friendly rooms.

After a day of adventures, your group can enjoy the peaceful, secluded atmosphere behind the pines with our hot tub, fire pit, wrap-around porch plus acres of grassy areas perfect for any number of outdoor games.

Historic Nebraska City is loved for its many museums, historic sites, apple orchards, vineyards, bird watching, golf courses, spa offerings, art galleries, music, unique shops, family adventures, cycling trails, hiking and walking trails, local water park… there really is something for everyone in your group.

Our 6 acre, secluded property boasts 150 year old pine trees, flower and water gardens. Guests will be able to enjoy the Whispering Pines main house with its patio, wrap around porch, common areas and four bedrooms as well as the Roost in the Barn, our fifth bedroom. Each bedroom with it's own bathroom plus a 1/2 bathroom on the main floor.

Also included in this spectacular space is an outdoor grill, 7-person hot tub and fire pit, parlor, dining room and den with games and movie library, and a fully equipped kitchen with gas stove, two refrigerators and every gadget imaginable. You'll have plenty of cookware and dinnerware.

A native Iowa girl, I spent about 20 years away in Arizona and Texas while in the Technology Industry. I've been fortunate to travel the globe for both business and pleasure. I was blessed to discover my passion for food and people and find my way back to the Mid-west to be near my family and roots where I settled in as an Innkeeper at Whispering Pines Bed and Breakfast. I enjoy being involved with both our local community and Nebraska State Tourism and love to talk travel and food and would love to cheer to you and your group with a glass of something on the porch!

When I travel, I like to seek out some adventure, like hiking or bicycling, immerse into the local culture, by visiting museums, or chatting with locals and tasting the regional foods.

My life motto is "If I can live, give and travel, I'm a happy gal!"

We have plenty of wide open space here or you're just blocks from Arbor Lodge state historic park, the J. Sterling Morton Mansion and orchards. Downtown is quaint with flower baskets and trees lining the streets, historic murals and where you'll find boutiques, restaurants and an amazing old main street.

In the warmer months, the wraparound porch with rocking chairs, wicker furniture and porch swing is calling you. Sit and sip and share special moments with family and friends. Or, choose to snuggle with your special someone in the hammock while listening to the tranquil waterfall and view the stars at night. Outdoor games, such as cornhole and yard Yahtzee, available for friendly competition.

The back deck surrounds the outdoor hot tub, available all year round, and offers tables and seating; both great places to watch the sunset or sunrise.

The main floor gets decked out for Christmas mid-November, making it the perfect backdrop to celebrate the holidays with family or friends. Plenty of indoor space for everyone to gather, whether in the kitchen preparing your traditional family meals or around the dining room table enjoying a game of cards.
