The water was shallow which was amazing for kids. They had fun in the kayaks the house provided and a paddle board we brought up. The house was perfect and we loved having the pink pong table and good kid’s bowls and cups etc. We went with our 6 young kids and it was perfect. It was very hot the first night (I assume the AC window unit was not running in the day), but the next couple nights were much better. It is right off the highway so nothing to walk to and it was kind of loud, but that was fine. We would stay here again!
What a delightful place for our family to share together! Beautiful and spacious, the beds quite comfortable with snuggly sheets and blankets, plenty of linens, an extremely well-equipped kitchen and very child-friendly - the kids had lots of play spaces - even bubble wands for the enclosed deck. Gorgeous views of the lake while enjoying morning coffee, and a good sturdy dock. Definitely as advertised and everything we expected! Many special memories made! Thank you!
This property has everything you need. Kitchen is very well stocked, beds comfortable, lots of room for a family gathering. The addition of a window AC unit in the kitchen, which was not there last time we stayed is a welcome addition during the warm days (our stay's high was in the low 80's), and new coverings on the windows that get the morning sun helpful. On very hot days, the cabin could still be very warm...cool nights, windows with screens and lots of available fans and ceiling fans in each room is helpful! We also had some quite cooler non-swimming days but the beautiful, unobstructive view from the cabin added to some very nice relaxing, read a book days. Yes, as mentioned in the description, there is road noise but you adjust and that aspect also adds easy access, and a quick trip into Newport for food supplies or dinner out! The gradual water depth is perfect swimming for children, our 6-year-old could walk out to nearly the end of the dock with head still above water. We enjoyed our stay!
This is our 3rd year at the lake house, we love it! The house is spacious, the lake is clear and beautiful. It’s a great place for our family to be together and relax!
We had a wonderful stay with family and friends at this super clean and spacious lake house. The weather was warm, but the house was very comfortable with a window air conditioner in the kitchen and fans in every room.
Loved having breakfast on the patio overlooking the lake, hanging out on the dock and using the kayaks from the shallow beach.
There was excellent communication and quick replies from the host. We would definitely recommend this well-appointed home.
We had a Wonderful time! The ping pong table was a hit!!!
Nice neighbors and had everything we needed. Beds were comfy as well. We will most certainly book again!
We stayed in this home over Thanksgiving and it was perfect! Heated floors make it so cozy and warm, it was very welcoming! Great view, nice kitchen and well stocked! It must be great in the summer!
Our family has stayed at this cabin several times and always enjoy our time there. We just got back from this summer’s stay and wanted to call out several new benefits we noticed. Most significantly, there is now an air conditioning unit in the kitchen which is a game changer! The kitchen reconstruction is beautiful and she has almost every appliance stocked for your needs (rice cooker, stand mixer, crock pot, 2 coffee makers, Foreman grill etc). The newly carpeted ping pong area is a family favorite and we spent a lot of time enjoying this space in the mornings. We can’t wait to come back again soon!
Beautiful home right on Diamond Lake. Our young children had a wonderful time in the shallow area around the dock. The two kayaks included with the home provided lots of fun too! The kitchen has everything we needed and there was plenty of space for everyone! The ping pong playroom and loft tv area were a great kid hangout area.
We really enjoyed the open view of the lake from the living room, the large well equipped kitchen, the deck, the dock, and the kayaks. The water is shallow which made it perfect for our young kids to enjoy. It’s right off the highway so there is a lot of car noise but we got used to it. We would recommend to friends and stay again.

About the host
Hosted by Sonja Willitts
Hello! Sonja and Kevin invite you to enjoy and hopefully take care of our house. We are both in our 60's and enjoy an active lifestyle. We live in the Lake Tahoe basin. Sonja is a long distance horse rider (commonly known as an endurance rider). She also enjoys taking our dogs on hikes and walks. We have horses, dogs and cats. Kevin is bicyclist. He enjoys racing on his road bike, but also takes out a gravel bike and a fat tire bike to ride with the dogs. If you're wondering why we bought property near Newport, WA, Sonja was born in Spokane, WA and still has a ton a family living from Newport, WA to Moscow, ID. So family is why we bought the property and built the house on Diamond Lake. We enjoy inviting relatives over for fun, food and water play when we visit up there.
Why they chose this property
This lake is ideal for small children to play in. We have a long shallow shelf of sand, gradually getting deeper to the end of the dock. Safe for small supervised children. The lake starts to warm up sometime in June, usually by early July it's a very nice temperature for water sports.
