We’re a small tree planting company and have stayed at tons of rentals over the years — Kurt’s place is hands down the best we’ve ever been to. The concrete floors, vaulted ceilings, quirky decor, and that incredible view all made it one of a kind. Huge thanks to Kurt for being such an awesome and welcoming host!We will definitely be back!--Canyon Forestry
This was a wonderful trip with my family to celebrate my 60th
Couldn’t have asked for a better place, amazing accommodation, amazing location and a perfect place for all of us to come together!!
Curt was an amazing and helpful host and we will definitely recommend this place highly!!
Lots of room in this house for our hockey camp attending group. Host was very friendly and accommodating. The house was not as clean as expected and has a lived in feel, but for our large group with kids that was easy to over look.
Gorgeous views from the house looking down onto Penticton and lake Okanagan.
Rented this home for a week in August. Wonderful home, wonderful views. Full kitchen and everything. Just a wonderful place to unwind and relax. Full amenities for every situation. Highly recommend this great home.
If you want peace and quiet and a beautiful view, this is the place. It’s quite a drive up the hill but it is beautiful.
There is no air conditioning but the place cools off really well in the evening, and it was pleasant during the heat of the day (30+ degrees celsius when we stayed). Plenty of space to spread out, and well appointed bed rooms. We really enjoyed our stay and Kurt is a wonderful host.
Kurt’s home is incredible, quiet and idyllic set atop the mountains overlooking Penticton and the Okanagan Valley. We were 11 people - 2 adult couples and our 7 kids - and had plenty of space to spread out and make ourselves comfortable. It’s a bit of a drive up (about 12 mins from the Penticton Hospital) but oh so worth it. Great games loft (with extra beds), spacious kitchen/dining/lounging quarters, an awesome deck and hot tub. Tons of linens and frankly we probably could have easily fit 4 more people. 15-30 mins to good beaches (Penticton & OK Falls), 40 mins to wine country (Oliver), 1 hour to Osoyoos (Rattlesnake amusement park), Kelowna, and Myra Canyon rail trail (via the backroads over the mountain - 4WD mandatory). Kurt himself is a gracious, laid-back host who made us feel welcome and never imposed. We will be back!

Lovely Location for Families, Though Some Details Fell Short.
We had a great trip and enjoyed the cabin overall. It’s spacious, well laid out, and perfect for a family gathering. The kitchen was well-equipped, the views were stunning, and we loved exploring Penticton; the location was ideal. However, there were a few issues worth noting. The listing mentions air conditioning, but the home uses geothermal cooling, which couldn’t keep the upper levels cool during hot afternoons. The hot tub wasn’t ready on arrival (set to 87F in economy mode) and only became usable late in our stay. The fire pit and yard area shown in the listing weren’t accessible, which was disappointing. We also noticed cleanliness and maintenance issues, including full garbage cans and ashtrays, a left uncleaned coffee maker, signs of mice in drawers, and several very firm beds, one with a noticeable sag. The front door lock wasn’t working, some window handles were broken, the bar fridge didn’t work, and the pool table and cues were quite worn. Several lights were out, and the deck water mister leaked. It would help to update the listing to reflect the actual cooling system, note the steep driveway, and include seasonal availability for outdoor features. Labelling light switches and providing checkout instructions would also improve the guest experience. Despite these issues, we enjoyed our stay and see a lot of potential in this property.
This is a gorgeous property set far enough away from Penticton for us to enjoy a feeling of being away from urban noise, yet close enough to pop down and stroll the farmer's market and go wine tasting when we wanted to. The house and views are stunning and we had more than enough space for 6 adults and two kids (8 & 10) to play, relax, and prepare big meals. We could ride to biking trails from the property, or a short drive to hiking trails, and the kids enjoyed just exploring on the property. Kurt was very easy to communicate with and we appreciate his patience answering our questions! Couldn't have asked for a better weekend and we will definitely look out for this property again in the future.
Micha
This property offered us everything our group was looking for, it offers a combination of privacy + proximity to the city, a large but intimate house, and the right amenities to make for a special stay. Kurt is warm and responsive and made the stay just what we were looking for!
We really enjoyed our stay! Kurt was awesome. We’ve been to Penticton several times and enjoyed being able to stay in our own little Oasis. If you’re a cyclist and enjoy finishing your ride with a challenge, the Carmi climb is epic! Nice spot!
Two young families (four adults, four kids aged 11months - 6 years) stayed here for the week.
It was lovely and quiet and the views were incredible. The house was super family friendly with kids toys and plates etc on site, lots of spaces for playpens, convenient access to Netflix etc and an absolutely stunning wrap around deck that was great for the adults to spend the evenings while the kids were trying to fall asleep.
The house is listed as having A/C and we were a bit apprehensive when we got there and it didn't, however the owner assured us that the house stayed fairly cool during the day and despite it being 35° outside, the inside stayed very reasonable.
Kurt was very friendly. He stays in a different part of the property and came by a few times to make sure we had everything we needed, and even offered to bring his pet bunnies around for our kids to pet. He was by far the most welcoming host we've ever experienced.
Would definitely stay here again.
Lovely property. Kurt was a wonderful host and responded quickly to any of our inquiries. He provided special experiences for the kids.
The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The hot tub was great with spectacular views. Lots of hiking and biking accessible directly from the property.
We could not have asked for a better experience. The house was amazing and Kurt is a wonderful host. He even had snacks waiting for us when we arrived since he knew we had been on the road for a while. The house was perfect for what we needed and very clean. Everything we needed was provided and then some! Kurt went out of his way to help us and make sure we had what we needed.
We would stay here again for sure!
The road just climbs and climbs, and then finally we come to this beautiful home overlooking Penticton and the Okanagan Valley. We were awe struck on arrival. The home is large and was the perfect location for our group of 9 (beds for 11). Kurt was the perfect host, gave us all the important information we needed on arrival and a way to contact him for anything else should we need it. We shared this amazing home with another family while in town for our daughters wedding and it was just simply perfect for our needs.,,,just wish we could have stayed longer!
