About this property

Spacious house for 6 persons, Granada Centre, private garage

Enjoy a house in the legendary district of Albaicin (declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO) origin of the city of Granada, located in the prime area of Granada offers easy access to the Alhambra and other sites of interest.
From the house at the morning you can go walking through the picturesque streets of the Albaicín and go to breakfast in a cafe of Plaza Larga, after breakfast you can go to Mirador de San Nicolas and enjoy a privileged view of the Alhambra and the mountains of Sierra Nevada. At lunch time you can go for 'tapas' at bars nearby (with your drink you get a free tapa in Granada) or you can go to a popular restaurant or a more selected about Mirador de San Nicolas.

From the Albaicin just in the midle of Cuesta del Chapiz street you'll find the access to the great gypsy neighborhood of Sacromonte, already pretty along the day you'll find particularly fascinating during night (especially weekends), in addition of its spectacular views it has a lively nightlife with flamenco shows performed in caves, in fact this area is famous for its cave-houses.
Going to the base of the Cuesta del Chapiz, and at the back of Albaicin, you will see a bridge. Across it are two streets, one leading strait and another to the left. The first option leads to the Alhambra. Though the “principal” andeasiest option is from Plaza Nueva Square, this path takes you through a winding route without asphalt that retraces 500 years of history and is highly recommended. If, on the contrary, you take the path to the left you will find a path that leads along the slope of the mountain upon which sits the Alhambra. From here you can enjoy unique views of the Albaicin and Sacromonte, and at the end of the route you will find a fountain where it is possible to relax and refresh.
If you want to visit the modern city center you can go walking (about 15-20 minutes) or you can take a bus (running every 10 minutes). In the area of Plaza Nueva (25 minutes walk) you will find a lively nightlife and in Navas Street (near City Hall) a good place for tapas.
All of these activities can be comfortably made on foot as the Siesta's house awaits you. If you also have transportation or take a bus, we can recommend other activities between half an hour and an hour distance from Granada:
Skiing and snowboarding can be foundwithin 50-60 minutes by car. The Sierra Nevada is a popular tourist destination, as its high peaks make skiing possible in one of Europe's most southerly ski resorts in an area along the Mediterranean Sea predominantly known for its warm temperatures and abundant sunshine.

Rural tourism, trekking, and other outdoor activities are also only a 60 minutes car ride away. We recommend a singular and special area: Las Alpujarras. The Alpujarra is a natural and historical region in Andalucia, Spain, between the Sierra Nevada and the Mediterranean. It extends over two provinces, Granada and Almería, and is often referred to in the plural as 'Las Alpujarras'. There are several interpretations of this Arabic name: the most convincing is that it derives from al-bugsharra, meaning something like 'sierra of pastures'. Although it would take more time you can’t miss out on Capileira or Pampaneira.
If you are more in the mood for the beach than the mountains Salobreña, apicturesque village with network of cobbled narrow streets on the Andalusian coast, is only a 45-60 minute drive depending on traffic. We recommended lunch or dinner overlooking the sea in any of a number of restaurants. If from here you take the coastal road in the direction of Malagayou will find other spectacular villages such as Nerja.
If you're traveling with your family I recommend you the Science Park of Granada, with a lot of exhibitions regarding science and nature topics, the children will have a great time (an also is very interesting for adults).
Check-in after 12 (if other guest is checking-out). Check out before 12 (if other guest is checking-in). In general terms I'm flexible.

Great property in fantastic location, best for warm weather
We had a very nice few days at this home in Grenada. The location couldn't have been better, within walking distance of the Alhambra and many other things, a grocery store a block away, nearby parking, lots of restaurants and wonderful views. The owners were excellent communicators leading up to the stay and came quickly when we called with an issue. The home included almost all the amenities we could want (although there is not actually a hot tub as far as we could tell). We were there at a unique time - the roads leading to the home happened to be all blocked off the afternoon we arrived due to an Easter week procession and we were told by police that we wouldn't be able to get in until 1am. Luckily we managed to get up by foot, then went back to get the car later that night, earlier than anticipated. The one issue that was difficult for us was that we were there during a very cold and rainy week in late March. The wall heaters in the home are very old and anemic. It took a full 24 hours before I was able to take off my coat. It was a wonderful place, but the first day I was wondering if we'd need to check out and find a hotel because I was so cold. The owner came right over and helped us turn on the heaters (appreciated) but they still were very weak and slow to remove the chill. This probably is a very rare issue as the weather was unusually cold, and many Spaniards don't heat their homes at all, but it is something to be aware of if you are sensitive to the cold.

Family visit to Granada
I stayed with husband and 2 daughters for 3 nights after Easter. The flat was clean, spacious and really well located. Beds were comfy and showers strong. Good communication with the owner. Only downside is that it is noisy - people below had a dog that whined all day and evening (can only assume it was home alone) and when they got home at midnight, they were loud and inconsiderate until 2am. Not the fault of the owner, obviously, but just to be aware.
