About this property

Firefall Lodge - 2 miles from Yosemite National Park!

Hello and welcome to the beautifully appointed Firefall Lodge at Yosemite National Park!

We provide year-round lodging with convenient access to more fun than you can shake a stick at. And up here, you can shake a pretty big stick.

When we say convenient, we mean it. We are located near everything. Okay, not everything. Crazy Horse Memorial is 1,457 miles away and if you’d like to visit South Dakota, we would certainly recommend different lodging. (Really, just ask us.) However, we are near everything you would want to do and see, in or around our wonderful 748,436 acres of Yosemite National Park. That’s a lot of park. In fact, that’s larger than the state of Rhode Island! So, you should expect a little travel time depending on your day’s adventure.

Our continuing mission is to offer guests lodging with a level of comfort and convenience that will satisfy even the most distinctive traveler. From security night lighting to convenient charging ports to the softest blankets you’ve ever used, we’ve got you covered.

We can be pretty particular when it comes to aesthetics, functionality and our guest's experience. We started Firefall Lodge from the ground up, which includes custom hand-crafted furniture, luxury mattresses for every suite and of course quality bedding. We've put time and thought into every choice and always from the guest’s perspective. We're continually improving with the goal of making this a better experience for our guests.

We want to provide that “home away from home” type of comfort and convenience without it feeling like you’re in a stranger's home. We don’t like feeling as though we’re intruding in someone's personal space and we don’t think you should either. This is your time up here. Your vacation, your space, your place.

Here are a few important notes, we want you to have all of the information you need to make the best choice...FOR YOU!

SLEEPING AREAS: Firefall Lodge has four individually private guest quarters and a pull out sofa in the living room. If you plan to use the pull out sofa, let us know and it will be made up and ready for you.

CHECK IN & CHECK OUT TIMES: Standard check in is 4P and check out is 11A. However, this is subject to change based on occupancy, especially during the peak Spring and Summer seasons. 5P check in and 10A check outs are often required.

SEASONS & WEATHER: We enjoy all four season at Firefall Lodge. At 5000' ft of elevations, the weather can be unpredictable, especially in Spring and Winter. Make sure you stay up-to-date with the area forecast as you plan your trip. Snow is always possible in the early Spring, Fall and Winter. During snowy weather, the access to the Yosemite area may require snow chains. In rain and snow, the outdoor furniture and grill may not be available. The home has central heating to keep you cozy (the fireplace is not available for use) and ceiling fans keep you cool, bringing in the lovely mountain area breezes. Looking for peak Fall colors? The last week of October is sure to please. Planning for the holidays? We can point you in the right direction for events in the area. For safety reasons, Christmas trees (real or artificial) are prohibited. Let us know if you have questions about the seasons and what to expect!

WINTER ADVISORY: During Winter storms, snowfall can be abundant. It is a beautiful and unique time to be in the mountains. But be advised, services are limited in this remote Sierra mountain community. Access to the neighborhood roads, driveway and home entrance could be limited and sometimes impassable depending on the amount of snowfall. So if making plans to visit in the Winter, be flexible, bring the proper clothes and get ready to shovel! It can be a great adventure when you are prepared.

KITCHEN ITEMS: Firefall has just about everything you need to cook great meals. (Pots, pans, utensils, dishes, glassware, etc. ) If you think you need anything specific, just ask! Due to covid compliance and sanitary reasons, Firefall does not have any shared pantry items, including cooking oils, coffee and tea. We will provide some general spices, however the amount is not guaranteed. The town of Oakhurst has grocery stores with everything you need to stock up on your way! And the Fish Camp Market (within walking distance) has many standard items available.

EXTRAS: Luxury sheets and a Pack & Play are available for an additional cost. If you are looking for something specific that you don't see in our listing or in the information sent to you after booking, just ask. If we can source it for you, we will!

HOUSE RULES: Please review our terms and conditions before booking. We want to make sure you have all the information you need! Here are a few keys rules briefly summarized, details can be found in the House Rules section of this listing.

Occupancy is 8 adults. No more that 8 people are allowed on the property at one time.

No pets are allowed.

No smoking inside the home.

The Renter must be 30 years of age to book this Vacation Rental. Renter under the age of 30 must be disclosed and approved in advance by the property managers. Adults cannot rent the property on behalf of underage guests, no exception.

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK (Firefall Lodge is not inside the Park)
We want to let you know that Yosemite National Park has instituted a temporary peak-hours reservation system for vehicles to enter Yosemite National Park between 5 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekends from April 13 to June 30. Reservations are required 7 days a week from July 1 to August 16. Again on weekends only from August 17 to October 27.

First, we recommend that you go to recreation.gov to seek a peak-hours reservation for the dates you plan to visit. All passes are good for three days from the start date and allow for one vehicle to enter the park.

Second, if you are unable to get a peak-hours reservation for the dates of your stay, know that more passes will open up on recreation.gov seven days in advance of your planned trip dates. There is also a new half-day reservation option, which allows visitors to enter Yosemite afternoon each day. These passes also become available 7 days before your planned visit.

Third, if you are still unable to get a peak-hours reservation seven days in advance, there are many other options for entering the park without a reservation. We are happy to send this information to you!

Quest to see FireFall -Feb 18-23, 2024
This property is located close to the South entrance of Yosemite which is convenient. The communication with the property owner is noteworthy. They responded to all of our questions and provided details and information quickly. We found the property to be as described on the website and it is well-maintained and clean. We visited in winter, so we were not able to enjoy the outdoor deck and patio. There were 3 couples in our party, and we had plenty of room to spread out in the main living space. We would definitely stay here again.

Well Equipped Lodge
Beautiful lodge in the woods, very comfortable stay with plenty of spaces for the family to spread out. I was very impressed by the variety and quality of tools, containers, and appliances in the kitchen making home cooked meals a pleasure while on vacation. We enjoyed the variety of seating areas both inside and outside the lodge. The bathrooms were a bit dated, but very clean.

"Just a small-town girl, living in a "…

Alright. Journey lyrics aside. Erin grew up in a small town in the Midwest, but her midnight train to anywhere was actually a Dodge Neon to Hollywood. Brian wasn’t always a city boy – growing up in a small Midwest town motivated him to explore the diversity and landscape of California.

Their spirit for adventure would eventually lead them to Yosemite where it was easy to fall in love with the natural beauty of the area.

These two small-town kids from the prairie have been enjoying Yosemite for years ever since and when the weekend comes, they’ll take the midnight Jeep to Yosemite.

Together, they manage Firefall Lodge where they help fellow travelers make the most of their Yosemite vacation.

Why they chose this property

Quite simply, Fish Camp is the best location for your Yosemite vacation for its convenience, its access and its beauty.

What makes this property unique

• FIREFALL CREEK - We have a year-round creek that flows through the property. Kick the windows open during the Summer and fall asleep to the sounds of falling water. You won’t be able to go fishing or swimming here, but if that’s your pleasure, we’ve got you covered nearby.

• RAINBOW LAKE - The creek flows into nearby Rainbow Lake, which is located across the way, with easy access from a shared path. The pond, lake is best enjoyed from the Lodge where you can listen to its natural inhabitants during Summer evenings.

• GREAT BLUE HERONS - Speaking of local inhabitants… Spring and Summer are a great time to sit on the patio and watch the Great Blue Herons that nest in the tallest Sugar Pine overlooking the pond. What’s that? You don’t know how to identify Blue Herons? They’re the ones in the sky with the five to six-foot wing span. Yeah, no kidding. You’d be forgiven if you mistake them for the elusive Sierra Pterodactyl.

• COVERED DECK - During the Fall and Winter, when it might be raining or snowing, you can still take in the outside and enjoy the sounds of nature with the stillness of the mountain forest.

• GENERATOR - No matter what season you’ll be traveling in or what the weather might bring, you’ll sleep soundly knowing your vacation won’t be spoiled by power outages. Our whole house generator automatically turns on when the power goes out and you’ll continue enjoying your stay without interruption.

• YOSEMITE CONSERVANCY - Need a reason to feel even better? We take care of the places we love and play. Portions of your stay are donated to the Yosemite Conservancy to provide continued support for our park and its future.
