Visiting from out of state with adults and 1 child. We have fam in Charlotte and needed a place to stay while we visited fam. I never received any check-in instructions, even on the day of check-in. I was worried about not having a place to stay. Didn’t get response through VRBO app messenger, but when I text owner by telephone then he quickly responded with information. Kitchen did not have enough plates/utensils for use (place is for 12 people, but maybe 6 plates). Only a small pot and 2 small frying pans, which we made difficult to cook for large group. Since we traveled from far, we were expecting to be able to fully use the kitchen and cook some meals during our stay and couldn’t not having adequate size pots and pans for use. The living room couch looked good but it was actually in poor condition. You can feel the coils springs so it definitely needs replacement. Garbage cans outside were full on Monday when we checked in and so couldn’t throw any of our trash out. I didn’t know when garbage pickup supposed to take place either because no info was provided. After messaging owner, found out pickup is on Thursday so we did put the trash on the street for pickup. Home seemed to be clean. but saw 2 large cockroaches in the home (kitchen and downstairs bath). Not sure if that’s the norm in Carolina because we don’t have such large cockroaches in CA. If you’re looking for a basic place to stay for the night then ok it met that, but would have liked it to be more a comfortable home stay. We would have rather stay in a hotel but chose home so we can cook and that didn’t work out. It is located close to airport and stores.
