About this property

The Beaver Lodge at Dragonfly Lake

***Please Read Entire Description Before Booking*** The Beaver Lodge at Dragonfly Lake is a modern off-grid cabin, hanging on the edge of the lake. It is located on a secluded and private 20 acres in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. This cabin has a king bed with a private deck on the top floor, two bunk beds, a full kitchen, one full bathroom and a 600 sq. ft. deck for family gatherings or just relaxing! There are various water sport activities like fishing, kayaking, or paddle boating and plenty of hiking trails to explore the great outdoors! This is a nature lovers paradise... enjoy watching ducks, geese, blue heron, egrets, hawks, varieties of turtles, largemouth bass, catfish, bluegill, deer and many more animals. The cabin is a short 700 ft hike from the parking area. Please note that this hike is up and down a decent grade, so please plan accordingly and take this in consideration if any one in your party has physical limitations. This is off-grid living all powered by solar and mother nature.

The linens are all provided for you.
You can also expect to find all the necessary kitchen utensils and dishes to prepare a scrumptious meal for your family. There is a refrigerator, 2 burner range, toaster oven, microwave and coffee maker in the kitchen and there is also a BBQ grill with side burner just off the deck that you may use. The only thing you need to bring is food and drink!
The lodge is GREEN! Well it’s really tan colored but it’s green because it runs of solar power. For this reason, we ask that you leave all your power tools and space heaters at home. There are small energy efficient fans provided for your use. You are not permitted to bring any other fans, appliances or any other items that consume power other than small low energy consuming electronic devices. Please remember to turn off lights and other devices that are not in use.
During your stay you are welcome to enjoy the lake, we have kayaks just under the deck and a paddle-boat tied to the floating dock. You are welcome to use them all, weather permitting, just please return them to their proper place and in the same condition you found them in. The lake is deep so please make sure to keep any non-swimmers safe with the use of flotation devices. If you plan to fish you are welcome to bring your own fishing gear. The lake is stocked with bluegill, large-mouth bass, and catfish but it is nature so you may find other species that we don’t know about!
We also provide additional seasonal paid experiences for your enjoyment and will communicate those to you after booking.
We also provide firewood so you don't have to worry about packing it!!!
Other things you will probably want to pack for your stay include:
Sturdy shoes for walking to your cabin and exploring the trails. Please ask to see what is available/restricted during your stay.
Flashlights/Headlamps for navigating outside after dark
Bug spray
Jacket/long pants (it can get chilly in the evenings in the spring and fall)

Get Away
A weekend to detach from reality. Was perfect. I appreciated the wagons, we used them to lug our luggage there and back. I enjoyed how secluded it was. Wanting to go back in the summer.

Great!
We really enjoyed our stay! Some great amenities including coffee, water, shampoo and many cooking utensils. Just FYI there are no doors on either bedroom so if you have kids make sure to bring loud white noise machines if needed. Loved the deck and lake/pond area! Would recommend to stay!

This property is a hidden GEM!
It's always such a pleasure to arrive at a holiday rental to find it exactly as listed. Beaver Lodge at Dragonfly Lake is such a gorgeous location and actually had more to offer than we expected. There were many small touches that made it evident the hosts understand hospitality and wanted us to feel welcome. Another thing we appreciated, due to this cabin being a more "off the grid" rental, was the clear description and instructions provided prior to our arrival. We found everything we needed in the well equipped little kitchen and the king bed upstairs was really comfy (not to mention the view from up there). Towels and linens were provided, which were fresh and clean. Although we spent most of our time outdoors enjoying the fire pit, fishing, walking trails and just relaxing on the deck, the cabin was comfortably warm at night, even when there was an overnight freeze warning in effect. Thank you Casey & Natalie for sharing your beautiful property with others. We really did create some special memories there last week.

Overall great!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for the weekend second week of October. We arrived around 9:30p and it was difficult to see where to go. The lodge is definitely more than 700ft away from parking and it is down a relatively steep gradient. The cart comes in handy! It is secluded and quiet. The water and boats/kayaks made the whole thing worthwhile! We really enjoyed that aspect! The grocery store was about 15 minutes away which was convenient. The grills igniter didn’t work but the cabin had plenty of lighters. The kitchen was fine for light cooking. Overall we had a nice stay!
