Enjoy the peace and quiet of a private north woods hideaway! Our guesthouse is a fully furnished home away from home with the cozy ambiance of a well-appointed knotty pine cabin. It features two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other has two twins. There is a futon in the living room, a single jetted tub, laundry facilities, fully equipped kitchen including coffee and spices, central air, and a three-season porch.

Beautiful cabin

The experience was amazing but the wifi didn't work and I didn't have cell phone service. I would stay again.

Few nights

Great location, had ice on the ramp and fell. So ensure ice melt is applied prior to anyone staying. Not much for cooking supplies and stainless pans which are tricky to cook with. Needs more light in kitchen, too dark to cook.

Quiet weekend away

Our stay was just what we were looking for. Great fireplace, quiet setting away from the hustle and bustle of life to recharge a bit.

Perfect for a relaxing weekend away

Took my mom on a relaxing weekend and it was great. Super quiet and cozy. I'm not great at making fires but I figured it out a couple of times and made it even cozier. I wish I had written down the check in info before we got up because I didn't have any signal, but my mom did so we figured it out. One small issue with the Internet and they responded right away and got it fixed up. There's some super friendly and soft cats that were around too.

We are Bob & Rae, and work full time in the Twin Cities until we retire next year. We enjoy meeting new people, and have traveled to about 20 countries, and lived in Haiti for 7 years serving after the 2010 earthquake.

Why they chose this property

Formerly the Dakota Lodge, we recently bought this beautiful property for when we retire next year. At least until then, we want to share it with you, and hope you enjoy it as much as we do. About 90 minutes from the Twin Cities to the south, or Duluth to the north.

What makes this property unique

DVD/VCR player and videos await your down time. Or simply grab a board game or cards, and create some precious family memories.

With off road parking available, bring your trailers loaded with motorcycles, ATV's, boats, kyaks, or canoes. We are close to two state parks with miles of trails to walk, or ride. The Munger Trail is only ten minutes away. Canoe trips can be are organized daily by a local outfitter, no experience or equipment needed.
