Estancia Los Roques - Camping

Estancia Los Roques is a family-owned working cattle and horse ranch between Montevideo and Punta del Este. The campsite overlooks beautiful sunset views of the land, which is home to 100 free-range cattle and a herd of horses bred for long distance racing, as well as many friendly rescue dogs. Guests are welcome to wander the property and we can also arrange time for you to explore on horseback with our resident gauchos.

Guests have access to 30 square meters of dedicated camping space as well as the quincho, a covered common area with a barbecue for asados, a large dining table, cozy seating by the fireplace, a reading nook and a full bathroom with hot water shower and bidet.

We live in the main house and are available to help, chat or share a beer. Dogs are perpetually available for cuddles.

We are located almost exactly between Montevideo and Punta del Este, on Ruta 9. Driving time is 45 minutes from Aeropuerto de Carrasco and 60 minutes from downtown Punta del Este. COT buses pass directly in front of the property twice per day in both directions (let us know if you’re coming by bus and we’ll help you navigate the schedule and get dropped off at our stop). We’re also under 30 minutes’ drive from the balneario beach fronts of Atlantida and La Floresta, 10 minutes from the small town of Soca and 3kms from small local shops where you can buy basic amenities.

In addition to the beach, from the ranch you can easily coordinate day trips to local attractions like the Castle at Piriapolis, Casa Pueblo, the Lussich Arboretum, Fundación Pablo Atchugarry Sculpture Park, the Salto de Penitentes waterfall and high tea at Las Cumbres.
