Great lodge right in the heart of Clear Lake ( officially Foster Township), just 15 minutes from I-75, as well as from West Branch, Rose City and St. Helen.
This lodge consist of two rooms. One room is a 3/4 bathroom with a shower, as well as a regular size washer & dryer. The main room is a studio floor plan with a complete kitchen, including a refrigerator, stove and microwave. High ceilings and 14 windows provide a lot of light and a sense of openness. There is also a dining area, TV section (DVD player, no cable), couch, tables and chairs, and 5 twin beds. There is room to add more beds if desired. Total of 900 square feet.
Charcoal grill, coffee maker, linens, towels and paper products are provided. We also have a fire pit (firewood can be purchased at the corner store) and horseshoe pits.
The lodge is located on a corner lot just across from Clear Lake, and yards from the Clear Lake Party Store, DNR boat launch, Clear Lake Bar & Grill, also the Side Door Restaurant. The Guidepost was formally a gas station and store, so it has plenty of parking for your cars and toys. The property is about a quarter acre, with room to set up yard games and have a campfire.
Across the street, Clear Lake has a marina with pontoon, fishing boats, & kayaks with dock space rentals, a public boat launch and beach. May want to call ahead to reserve boat or dock space. It is a beautiful all sports lake.
About a mile away is a public park with tennis courts, softball diamond, covered picnic area, barbecue grills and a basketball court also swings and slides.
The Guidepost is just 15 minutes from several towns which have golf courses, restaurants and bars. West Branch has 3 golf courses as well as an outlet mall and many nice restaurants, fast food, bars, a cinema, bowling alleys, and putt putt golf..
There are several lakes in addition to Clear Lake, for fishing and boating. There are rivers for canoeing & tubing within 25 miles. The area is also very popular with hunters (state land), off road riders and a trail head 2 miles away at the Ogemaw National Forest, there are plenty of trails for all of your favorite outdoor activities (ATV's can travel on the side of the road). Hiking and bike trails are 5 miles away with car parking.
