Located on 10 acres nestled in the rolling hills of Willamette Valley farmland. We are 6 miles east of Salem and about a 10 minute drive to the quaint town of Silverton (home of the beautiful Oregon Gardens), you'll find we are a short drive to a multitude of attractions and activities for every palette. Our property is situated in the rural pastoral area outside of the cities of Salem, Silverton and Stayton/Sublimity. Most of the land surrounding us is used for farming of grass seed, grapes, wildflower seed, Christmas trees, hay and hazelnuts. Our 600 sq. ft. cottage is furnished and stocked in a way to provide soothing rest for your soul. Read on...
Our cottage is set up as a private 1 bedroom/1.5 bath studio-ish cottage with two beds (sorry, but we absolutely can not accommodate over 2 people) with the comforts of a home in mind. While you may see us out and about on our farm, we will respect your privacy while you stay at the private detached guest cottage. The deck attached to the cottage is private, intended for your use only.
This cottage sleeps up to two (2) adults. PLEASE NOTE that we are not able to accommodate children or pets/animals. There is a queen bed in the bedroom and a double/full bed tucked behind the living room seating area (all with plush bedding!). The bedroom has a heavy curtain to pull for privacy (hence our description that the cottage is studio-ish). The full kitchen is stocked with basic kitchen gear for cooking in, or a short drive into one of the towns or cities can provide a bite to eat (Salem is about 7-10 minutes, towns of Silverton, Sublimity and Stayton also around 10 minutes, Albany 25 minutes or so, Eugene 45 minutes, Portland area about 1 hour). We provide complementary cable/ROKU TV or log into your own personal subscriptions. The half-bath off of the main sleeping space also houses a full sized washer and dryer (laundering supplies provided) should you require it during your visit. The main bathroom has a small shower. Heating/air conditioning is controlled by a ductless unit.
We are a complete NO smoking property (applies to in the cottage, outside of the cottage, and on the entire property). If you are a smoker this is probably not the best fit for you.
If you'd like to venture outside, we are a short 20 minute drive to Silver Falls State Park, about 2 hours from the coast, anywhere from 3 minutes to 30 minutes from vineyards and wineries (as close as 3 miles away), as well as craft breweries. We are also a convenient choice for the business traveler as well, as we are located 6 miles from I-5. If you are visiting your local student...Corban University is 8 miles away from us, Willamette University is under 8 miles, and Chemeketa Community College is 10 miles.
We are sorry but we are not able to allow pets/animals in the cottage. The inside of our cottage is a pet-free zone. We have animals that live on the property the cottage sits on - Two farm dogs, working mouser cats, alpacas, sheep and free range chickens can be found here. Therefore bringing an unfamiliar pet/animal to the cottage would not be compatible, and we also want to keep the environment a pet allergy-free zone as we do use this space for our own family members occasionally, who do suffer from certain allergies. Guests should note our resident cat is extremely friendly and will wait on the cottage deck for human interaction (yours!). If you are highly allergic to cats or do not find yourself fond of them, this may not be the property for you. While she is outdoor only, she absolutely wants to be fawned over by all humans, which may cause problems for those highly allergic.
Hosts live on the property in a separate dwelling and are available to assist with questions or concerns as needed. We may or may not be home when you arrive as we stay pretty busy, but you may self-check in with a key code. The cottage and other dwellings on the property do share some yard space (though the deck to the cottage is completely for your use). You will see other dwelling buildings out one side of the cottage windows and will drive by them in your way to your designated parking area. We have included shots in our photos showing the cottage in proximity to the other dwellings. While we do live here, know that we do make an effort to respect your privacy and space, however if our paths cross we will certainly greet you!
