This is a great house with a beautiful, clean, beachy vibe and an amazing view. There is a ton of space downstairs as if this was a house for entertaining - tables for 8-10 though the house sleeps 6 max.
A few things to know:
- The water pressure isn't the greatest and relies on a cistern and pumps that require power.
- The power sometimes goes out (not just here but on the island.) We had only very brief problems with it.
- Another cottage is very close to the house and was rented by others while we were there.
- There's a gorgeous cove by the house, but it was not the easiest to reach and access is limited by tides. Rainbow Bay, a very short drive away, is breathtaking.
- Eleuthera is a cash-oriented island, and $US is accepted. Bring at least $1,000 in US dollars or more because converting using a cash machine or credit card will incur a 6% hit.
- Everything is pretty expensive on the island, no matter where you go. A nice lunch or modest dinner for two is $70. Tip and tax are automatically applied.
- This is a quiet island with very friendly people and absolutely stunning beaches. Great snorkeling.
