This lovely apartment will serve you well for a stay in a gorgeous little village close to London. It is comfortable and well located for public transport and has everything you will need for a happy break for whatever reason you have come to stay with us. It is a perfect pied-a-terre for anyone working close by or commuting to London and is very well placed for all the many film studios nearby: Warner Studios, Pinewood, Teddington etc.
If you are travelling for a holiday, Harry Potter World, Legoland, Windsor and Henley are all close as well as the Chilterns and all the lovely walks around here.
Many also stay when they are having work done in their own home and need to escape or when visiting friends and relatives who cannot accommodate them in their own homes.
This apartment is a great option: The Fast Chiltern Line, Marylebone train will get you to London Marylebone in 25 minutes, and returning you can enjoy quiet, relaxing evenings here in a small leafy village with everything you need at your fingertips. Shops, restaurants, coffee shops, supermarkets, are all a stones throw from your front door!
We are aiming for a high-end Luxury look and feel but we are working towards that end goal. We are not quite there yet, as it is an ongoing project. The photos will however show you that is already lovely and just going to get better and better! The great feedback we have on this site (and others) so far, shows we are doing a great job and we have not got too far to go now to create the ultimate in a luxury holiday home. Please look at our feedback and see for yourself.
There are 2 double bedrooms in this property with 1 shared bathroom.
We can sleep up to 6 (4 adults + 2 children). The 2 small children can sleep on the sofa-bed in the Sitting Room which is a very spacious room. The Dining table is in this room too, with seating for 6 when extended or as a round table for 4 people.
The kitchen has all the modern conveniences for your comfort and a lovely central Breakfast Bar for that first cup of morning coffee with seating for 2.
The property is actually a maisonette on 2 floors above a Book shop but Chorleywood is a very quiet area so it is not a High Street as such - more a quiet residential area with a few shops for your convenience.
If you bring a car, parking is on the street (abide by the parking restrictions) but in the main, if you are out and about during the day it should not affect you too much as the restrictions are mainly to stop commuter parking.
If you require more long-term parking during your stay you can park in the station car park for 24 hours at a time or park your car a short distance away where there are no restrictions and then walk back.
In terms of speedy access to London, this is about as good as it gets! The excellent Chiltern Line stops here and it takes only 25 minutes to Marylebone via a very direct journey of only 2 stops. From Marylebone you have access to the Underground and the whole of London is at your disposal.
This is an area well-renown for its excellent walking and rambling routes. The lovely Chorleywood Common is a five minute walk and the Chiltern Hills are not far away and are truly beautiful and a must see. As is other areas such as Burnham Beaches, Aldenham Country Park and many other lovely places around.
Harry Potter World is a 10-15 minute drive (5 miles away) or a taxi will not cost much and is very convenient if you do not have a car.
You can enjoy the many quaint English Pubs in this area too. The Stag (a mile up the hill in Heronsgate) is a favourite and the Rose and Crown right on the Common is lovely on a sunny day as you can sit outside and enjoy the Common right in your view. Other favourites like The Gate offers a lovely cosy feel and a raging fire on a cold winters day when you need warming after your bracing walk to get there. There is also the Red Lion and the Bedford Arms in Chenies (a short 5 minute Drive), both serving great food and well worth a visit.
The Artichoke on Croxley Green is not far away by car and the food is great there too!

Lovely flat in a wonderfully convenient location! It was such a pleasure to come back to Chorleywood and not have to have a car. The flat had everything my children and I needed. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked with pots and pans and the thoughtfully placed blankets made snuggling on the sofa so easy. And now I think I need underfloor heating for my bathroom at home! Highly recommend and thank you Caroline.

We were visiting family in Chorleywood and didn’t have a car. The flat was perfectly positioned near shops, family home and train station. It was clean, warm and comfortable and our host very responsive. Great stay all round
Staying in the unit was lovely - great variety of places to eat in close walking distance, easy access to the train into London. Extremely comfortable bed, wonderfully hot shower, fully equipped kitchen and very clean. Perfect for our needs - and the sun actually showed up while we were visiting!

Overall, I had a pleasant stay in Caroline’s unit; The flat is located in a convenient location on the main road with many shops and food options within walking distance, including the train to London. The unit has a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed in the primary bedroom, bathroom with a full size tub, and heating throughout the flat. The flat could definitely use updated window treatments as the blinds were not all fully operable, and the hanging rack provided was very small and therefore not ideal for longer stays (extra bedding was not provided). There were multiple times when the neighbors could be loudly heard through the flat walls, but the street outside was generally quiet at night/early in the morning. Caroline was pleasant to communicate with and responded in a timely manner.
The unit was nice and clean. No way the unit would sleep 5 as noted in the distribution, no outside sitting area and no dryer. However we did love the location! Many stops downstairs that were convenient and easy to access for our stay. The Italian restaurant directly below the unit was fantastic and to get to the rail system just down the street. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would book here again.
The apartment was as described, a great location for us as we were working around the corner. It was also easy access to London in the week. Trains are better from Watford at the weekend where you can park for only 7 all day.The apartment was clean, spacious and the high street is very convenient for everything you need. Caroline was on hand for any questions, and even supplied us with a new iron!We'll definitely be returning.

Apartment was lovely and central. Couldn’t find tv remote which was a bit of a pain. Parking was also a bit of a bind trying to find where we could and couldn’t park and having to move the car after periods of time.
If you don’t have a car then the location is great.
Caroline’s apartment was perfect for our 4 night stay over Christmas. The property is beautifully decorated and has everything you could need. Caroline even managed to get an electrician in on Christmas Eve when there was an issue with the lights upstairs. Highly recommended.

Very nice stay close to London
We had a very nice stay in this flat. As promised it is perfectly situated for going into London by train and Watford (Harry Potter studio tour) by car as well as other trips around the country side. Caroline was very friendly and helpful. The flat was newly renovated and did maybe need a few final touches but it accommodated our family of 6 just fine, and any request we had were met right away. Nice little town with everything we needed such as groceries, take away and shops right at the doorstep and pubs very nearby. Easy access by car from the freeway.

It was our second stay at Caroline's property, and we can honestly say it was so hard to leave! We love the space - it's cozy, clean, comfortable, and offers that extra special welcoming touch. It truly feels like a home away from home. The convenience of the location - from the food/grocery selection right outside to the train station around the corner - is such a gift given that we weren't renting a car. We love the charm of Chorleywood. Caroline was amazing about answering questions quickly for our time-traveled addled brains. Plus, the neighbors are lovely. We can't wait to visit again.

The flat met our family's needs (parents, daughter and husband) as we attended the Wedding Celebration of our other daughter in the area. The property was as described and set on two levels with the two bedrooms and bathroom on the above level. The master bedroom was very large which was great for us. Caroline was great addressing a small matter that arose during our stay and also quick to provide a refund when we adjusted our dates early on. My only disappointment was the area outside where you enter the flat, which was the view from the kitchen and smaller bedroom, where the neighbourhood stored lumber and scrap wood. Otherwise, a great stay!

I'm sorry that we cannot do anything about having a carpet shop nearby with their yard visible from the smaller back bedroom but take on board your comments and it is good for potential new guests to be aware.
The light and sunny views from the huge window in the sitting room at the front and the master bedroom above it, are what we hope our guests will focus on mainly and the close proximity to the station and London.

This property was the PERFECT place to stay on our trip to London. We got to truly enjoy a small village atmosphere with simple easy travel to London for our days' excitement. Chorleywod is a delight and this property has the perfect location. coffee and a delightful bakery across the street, multiple restaurants down below the flats, four pubs in reasonable walking distance... Rail is a 7 minute walk from the property and you can ride all day for about 8 pounds. Definitely worth the walk to go to Rose and Crown and White Horse pubs, excellent cask ales and incredible foods (reservation required for Rose & Crown). The unit was great, nice fully equipped kitchen, plenty of room for four, comfortable bath and shower, towel heater, and very nice master with very comfortable bed and a look out over the high street. Host was great with good instructions for access (key in lockbox) and responsive to phone calls (not very responsive to VRBO messaging). Unit was very clean. I truly hope that we can stay again, I could have enjoyed a full week in Chorleywood alone! Pro tips: get a punch card at Rootz coffee across the street and earn a free drink, get the ham and chese croissant at the Simmons bakery across the street (you're welcome), book a car with tudor/area cars to/from heathrow, get an oyster card for the public transportation (underground, chiltern line rail, buses, boats). You WILL enjoy your stay!

This is the third time we have stayed and it really does feel like a home away from home. The hosts were wonderful in helping out with a few technical issues. We highly recommend this space.
The information and directions Caroline sent us prior to our arrival were great. The flat was very homely and was well equipped which suited us fine as we were staying for 10 days. We were able to cook in the lovely kitchen, do washing and relax watching tv. The many choices of takeaway virtually on the doorstep were also great as were the lovely cafe's just across the road. There was also a convenience store a couple of minutes walk from the flat that seemed to have most things we needed. The station was only a 5 minute walk from the flat which made it easy when we were travelling to London for the day. Unfortunately parking was an issue but we were able to find a spot not too far from the flat and on certain days we were able to park outside the flat. Caroline had warned us about the parking so it didn't come as a shock when we arrived. An enjoyable stay was had by all and should we find ourselves back in the U.K. in the near future we would certainly look at staying in Caroline's property in Chorleywood.
It was our first VRBO experience as we have always traditionally stayed with family, and Caroline was a truly amazing host. We have always preferred the "time share/apartment" style space when travelling for a longer stretch. While the walk in and outside was a bit unusual, the space itself was cozy and welcoming, and we all just loved staying there. Whenever we had questions, Caroline was there to answer promptly. There was a great variety of stores/food options right at our doorstep whether we wanted to eat in or take out, and the train was right around the corner. There are also some beautiful walks nearby. All in all, we loved it and will definitely be back.

Why they chose this property
Happy Chorleywood is the perfect location, set in between the beautiful Chiltern Countryside yet so close to London you can be there in no time at all! If you are looking for a regular Pied a Terre away from busy London, or are perhaps having building work done and need to vacate your home, or are visiting relatives nearby, or even on holiday, this is a wonderful property in a perfect location. The walk to the station is less than 5 mins and the Metropolitan & Chiltern Lines stop here! A fast Chiltern Line train will get you to Marylebone in 20 minutes!
I bought this property in Chorleywood to keep my son close when he was in his early twenties and wanted to be close but not too close to his mum!
I want you to feel that you will come and enjoy this property if you want a little bit more than a place to rest your head at night after a busy day out or working in London. We want you to be comfortable and feel well rested and looked after so that on your return home, you will feel that all your needs were catered for and we thought of every detail.
The amazing location of this property gives you the perfect balance of proximity to Central London but in a leafy out of London village, where the birds sing in the trees when you get home from a crazy day sight-seeing. There are not many places that can say the same but this location is quiet and tranquil, whilst still being very well located to all transportation links and London itself.
What makes this property unique
Chorleywood has long been known as "Happy Chorleywood' since the time a few years ago when it was voted as the happiest place to live in the UK. Last year it proudly boasted to be the "Second Richest place to Live in the UK" and it certainly is a very affluent area with many lovely houses in all directions.
Our apartment (or rather it is a maisonette as it is on two floors) has been done up to a high standard with all the modern conveniences you would wish for and we hope you will love it and the location and want to come back and see us again and again!
