About this property
Best Little Guesthouse in Melrose!

No need for a car, you can take the Light Rail from Sky Harbor International Airport, save your money for entertainment! Off street parking if you have a car! EV charger available!
The Melrose Park District is known for its entertainment, diversity and inclusiveness. The guesthouse is in a quiet, residential neighborhood.
Phoenix has a First Friday Art Walk (first Friday of every month) which features local artists and is located from 7th St to 15th Ave along Roosevelt. You can reach it via light rail easily. We are proud to have several local artists displaying their work (for sale) in our guesthouse. Currently featured are works by Justin Stewart (Instagram) and Rey Cantil (Instagram).
The kitchenette includes a sink, mini fridge, coffeemaker, microwave, toaster, induction hot plate (with appropriate cookware) and all utensils, glasses, dinnerware, etc.
Phoenix is known for its quality and quantity of restaurants, far too many to list, but here's a few in the area: Melrose Kitchen (on 7th avenue with the best breakfast and lunch you'll find!), Southern Rail (southern comfort food, need some fried green tomatoes because they have them!), Los Dos Molinos (New Mexican flavor and spice) George and Dragon English Pub (for authentic Fish and Chips, traditional Sunday Roast dinner, Texas Hold 'em Tournaments on Tuesday evenings).
A short ride-share away you'll find some treasures along Grand Avenue, just west of 7th avenue: Third Space (coffee bar, live music, comedy, excellent drinks, amazing food and great people), El Charro Hipster (always a great time, excellent food and drinks).
I would be remiss if I didn't suggest the Barrio Cafe Gran Reserve. Award winning Chef Silvana is brilliant. I'd suggest calling ahead for reservations, you won't be disappointed.
The Heard Museum (Native American), Phoenix Art Museum, Phoenix Theater, Opera? Jump on the light rail and they're all off of Central Avenue and McDowell Rd.
Just for fun, take the Orpheum Theater Ghost tour downtown, also accessible by light rail.

Cozy place in a quite and welcoming neighborhood. Pet friendly. Marty was very helpful and attentive during our stay. Well located near Scottsdale. Very affordable. Highly recommended!
Loved a short stay here! The only thing is I didn't read carefully that it wasn't a full kitchen! If we were staying longer we would have wanted a place to cook! Otherwise it was a beautiful yard and quiet neighborhood. Simple and comfy for just two of us!
The property smelled clean walking through the door. Good size, neighborhood is close to everything and some businesses are walkable, which is not as common for Phoenix.
Martin is a wonderful host. We will miss his dogs Lilly and Leo as my pups got along great with them. Had a wonderful stay in this lil hideaway. Definitely recommend.
This guest home is amazing! Easy to find and has everything you need. Perfect for a short or long trip! Located in a nice, quiet neighbor hood, close to transportation and restaurants.
I was very happy with Martin and his property. Sitting outside and smelling the jasmine was worth the trip. Beautiful landscaping and the cottage was great.
Overall we were very satisfied! Place looked very clean, quiet location in a really pretty area
We had a great experience! The place is really clean and inviting, the area is quiet and the area is really nice, close to downtown Phoenix and the owner is very kind and accommodating. The only thing we didn’t like was that one bed was squeaking, otherwise everything was great!
Very peaceful stay for my husband and I! Marty, the owner, was super friendly and has freshly ground coffee. Neighborhood full of quaint, well kept houses with neighbors walking their dogs all the time. The grounds were like an oasis, with fragrant flowers and a peach tree and two inquisitive schnauzer dogs to great us. Would definitely stay here again!
We had a wonderful stay. The studio is close to so many cool places in Phoenix, from eateries to cultural venues. It's walkable, close to the light rail, and near major freeways--a win no matter your transportation situation. Marty was very responsive and friendly to communicate with.
Great quiet property in a great location. In the morning we would walk to Lux for coffee and then a stroll through Indian School park with the dog. Plenty of great restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Excellent communications with Marty (owner) with outstanding restaurant recommendations. We'll be back for sure.
We love the neighborhood- friendly people, dog walkers & small businesses and restaurants. Martin, the host, provides amenities and helpful information. For example, in addition to fresh ground coffee, he also has raincoats, bug spray & other thoughtful provisions. Pet friendly also. We will return.
We were absolutely stunned at the beauty of the grounds, the excellent decoration of the cottage, and the wonderful, welcoming owner. Martin is the perfect host. He has thought of everything. Do yourself a favor and book this property if you can! Hope to stay there any time we're in Phoenix.
This guesthouse displays art from local artists and is in a great neighborhood where you can walk to restaurants & businesses. It is a block from the Grand Canal where bikers, families strolling their children and dog walkers create a fun atmosphere. Martin is a thoughtful host & offers ideas for visitors. There is a fenced in yard for dogs and has a surrounding hedge which makes for a quiet, private place to read & relax. We already booked for another 3 weeks next year.
centrally located within walking distance of great bistros and shops. host considerate of every request and responds immediately .
2 adorable schnauzers. they are very well behaved.
nothing missing from this place. martin has thought of everything.
you will love it as i did.
My son and I had to travel down to Phoenix for a Basketball Camp at GCU. We found this listing because it was much cheaper than a hotel and had so much to offer.
Our flight was delayed and got us in around 1 in the morning. Host had no issues with us arriving that late and had lights on for us to feel welcome. Everything was neat and clean. Property is close enough to everything, but secluded in a quiet neighborhood. This property was excellent and hope it is available the next time I have to come to Arizona.
The rental was good. The host was very nice and communicated promptly. The main things were clean (sinks, toilet, shower) but almost everything else was covered in grimy dust. I cleaned some of it the realized we paid good money for cleaning fee. The metal bed frame creaked mercilessly. If these things were improved, I would definitely stay there again.
This is exactly what it looks like! It is a lovely oasis in a great location. The Owner is friendly, respectful and concerned about making sure his guests are taken care of. He has paid great attention to making sure his property is not only clean, but beautiful and functional.
The yard is immaculate and a fabulous space to hang out. I had a service dog with me and it was lovely to have a yard to destress her in between hospital visits to her human.
The room is a converted garage and has been converted recently as it is in amazing condition. The fixtures and furnishings are modern and functional. It is a basic quality and is appropriate for the space. A larger mini fridge, hot plate, coffee maker, sink with plates glasses bowls etc. the bathroom is of good size and only lacks some counter space.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!! At the price, I doubt you will find anything close to this beautiful space and generous renter.
